    I still use coins, the only money Congress is authorized to mint. If you drive around Chicago coins are a must, since most toll areas are unmanned. And not everyone has a "I" pass ( same as e-z pass). Took delivery of two Trail-hawks Elites, if you go off road the Trail-hawk's. 17 inch tires are the best for rock climbing. The Luxury Overlander 's 20 inch tires and rims are difficult to find snow tires for and expense is high. The suspension of the jeep Cherokee elite is stronger than the jeep Cherokee Limited which I traded in. Over all all of the Jeep Cherokee 'S are comfortable and all the amenities are easy to use.

      The little compartment on top of the dash would be a good spot for the I-pass - e-z pass 🙂

    Thank you. One of the few reviewers telling me about seat comfort over a long trip. I have no idea why modern car seats are so firm. My 1993 ford explorer seating is very comfortable. I will certainly be looking at the 2019 cherokee overland edition.

    I have a 2019 limited with the High Altitude Package. Basically an overland without the ac in the seats. While it's not as capable as the trailhawk off road, i can vouch for it's ability. Went to George Washington National forest for a weekend off road and it did great. No, it's not a rock crawler, but certainly fine for getting you through some light off roading. The 9 speed transmission in mine has been fine for the 31,000 miles i've put on it.
    Thanks for the great video.

    I’m late to the party, but I’ve actually found myself really interested in the Jeep Cherokee after watching this video. The thing that still gives me pause though is Jeep’s overall reliability issues in the past. I remember when the Cherokee first came out a few years ago that both it and the Renegade had quite a few problems with the new 9 speed transmission. Has the reliability improved at all since then?

    • @watchr0b
      @watchr0b 5 років тому

      Shawn B I’ve had my 2019 Cherokee Limited a year now and it hasn’t given me any trouble. The transmission isn’t super refined and sometimes doesn’t seem to know whether it wants to be in the gear its in, but it doesn’t hurt the drive at all. With all the incentives I got like $4,500 knocked off MSRP and there really is nothing in the same price point that matches its power, comfort and capability. Get the turbo though. It’s a surprisingly spirited engine.

    You opened the video with saying people comment that you don’t talk about how the cars drive. So I was figuring you would do that in this video. I think I must have missed it. Most reviewers talk about handling, like
    How was the engine power? How was acceleration from a stop? How was it at acceleration at highway speeds to pass?
    Did the transmission up-shift and down-shift responsively? Some complaints in the past have been about unresponsive transmission that feels jerky at times. Was there a lot of body lean in turns.
    How was the feel of the steering, the braking?

    • @Allthingsfadra
      @Allthingsfadra  5 років тому

      Fair point. Honestly, the reason why I don’t talk about driving too much is because it’s a good driving experience. I usually only mention it when some is outstanding (like the acceleration of the Acura RDX or the sluggishness of the Jeep Compass). I did a fairly long drive in this vehicle for a week and didn’t have any issues with anything you mentioned.

    • @stevemcfarlane2582
      @stevemcfarlane2582 5 років тому

      Just took one out for a test drive. The transmission is very disappointing. 3.2 v6, trailhawk. I went to pass, the lag was absurd. A Critic once said about the jeep transmission, it is not sure what to do, I now understand what he meant. To bad, I could not live with that.

    Yeah, not sure why the wheel wells are square either. However, I like the fact that they are trimmed in body color cladding! I see all to many vehicles that have ( black ) plastic cladding trim on the wheel wells.. they usually fade... Overall, you presented the vehicle well & articulated the positives in a professional like manner! Keep up the great work! 👍🏻

    • @Allthingsfadra
      @Allthingsfadra  6 років тому +2

      I hate that plastic cladding too. You will find it on the Trailhawk but I'm guessing it's because you wouldn't want all that paint getting scraped up when you go off road. BTW with the right product, you can restore that faded black cladding - I've done it!

    • @donnalopez2126

      The wheel wells are not square they are called trapezoidal (trapezoid is an actual shape). That has been the style since 1941 it is the jeep heritage. Alot of things jeep does is a throw back to the origins where it all began with the WWII military jeep.

    Not as aggressive as the trailhawk, this one is not trail rated the whole reason you buy a jeep. Nice options. No w4d low. No skid plate. It is all about luxury. But it is a nice option. Is it really 4wd? you can not lock it in 4wd.

    • @Allthingsfadra

    As a Land Rover owner, I'm not impressed with this Jeep. I enjoyed the fact that you finally demonstrated the driving dynamics. But, that small mud filled rut is not a good indication of off road capability. My 2005 LR3 can ford water, climb mountains and push stalled SUV's. I doubt this FCA Jeep imposter can match the Go Anywhere spirit of my Solihull brute. I am not judging your review. I love the process you use to review vehicles. As a Toledo, OH native I am a bit ashamed of what our hometown favorite has become.

    • @Allthingsfadra
      @Allthingsfadra  6 років тому +5

      Okay, well, let's be honest. Comparing a Land Rover to a Jeep Cherokee is like apples to oranges. If you're talking strictly off road capability, you'd want to compare it to the Trailhawk. But the Overland gives you all the luxury (which I like). And although that was a puddle, it was a muddy puddle! It was deeper than I thought and the 4 wheel drive actually kicked in to climb out of the puddle. The reason I picked that location is that another vehicle I reviewed (which shall remain nameless) actually got stuck in that same location. Plus it was fun to drive through that puddle 😉

      @@Allthingsfadra Something tells me the other vehicle was that pitiful, grocery getter 2018 Land Rover Discovery. Land Rover lost their mind when they stripped the Discovery line of it's masculine persona.
      Also, something tells me that debating automobiles with an expert like yourself is fruitless. I will be honest, the only knowledge that I have is pumping gas, starting the engine and attempting to look cute. Don't hurt me Fadra for being dumb.

    I am leasing my second Jeep Cherokee, this time I moved up to the Overland after a pleasant three years with my 2015 Limited and the new Cherokee is much improved and clearly is best in class as I agree with your accessment. . The quality, driving characteristics, comfort, reliability and overall value is noteworthy. Yes those front seats rival luxury brands in comfort and material quality. I continue to be impressed by the Cherokee everyday as it never stops exceeding my expectation. Most important, my wife absolutely loves this Jeep, as it offers everything the luxury brands offer, with ledgendary Jeep performance in a just right size. I would recommend the Overland Cherokee for a test drive before you buy or lease a luxury import SUV. We did and we chose the Jeep as superior in driving dynamics, at least comparable comfort, more features and clearly a much better value than the luxury import.

    Good overall review for the 2019 Jeep Cherokee in the Overland trim. As for the big sun roof the auto manufacturers in general refer to it as the panoramic sunroof. That was great Jeep was able to throw in a V6 engine in their compact SUV lineup. That was never done before by them. Good power. As a whole I like the Jeep branded SUVs. The SUV I currently have by them is the bigger brother Jeep Grand Cherokee. I have the 2005 model Jeep Grand Cherokee in the Limited trim level nicely equipped with a V8 engine. Excellent performance. Nice vehicle. The current generation Jeep Grand Cherokee is nice as well. Loaded with more bells and whistles than my generation Grand Cherokee. Couple years ago I test drove the 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee and it was GRRREAT!! The one I test drove was well equipped with a big 5.7 liter HEMI V8 engine. Good acceleration. Excellent performance across the board. If possible and if you get the chance maybe you can test drive the bigger brother Jeep Grand Cherokee. You'll like it. Let me know if you'll be able to. What square, put a carpenters square on the wheel well and you will see the sides have an angle. I see a trapezoid, the same trapezoid that you also see on the renegade, compass, grand cherokee and wrangler. The reason you notice the angle is different for wrangler is because it is common to put oversize tires on them which requires more room. I guess it's why jeep says " it's a jeep thing you wouldn't understand ".
