I was a military wife 40 years ago, and it's the same now as back then. I just found you, hang in there.

My daughter and I stumbled upon your channel a few weeks ago. Have been watching, but I subscribed today. My daughter and I watched your Michaels haul and laughed. She knits and crochets and worked at Michael’s for almost 3 years and would do the same thing. She’d wait for a good sale, coupled with her employee discount and would buy all that she needed…with absolutely no thought about leaving some for others. They get shipments in all the time, mark things clearance frequently…if people want the yarn, they can go get it. I grew up in Delaware and have done craft fairs for years (pre-c*vid) with my sewing here in the mid-west. Keep doing what you’re doing. Hope your hubby gets to come back soon. Don’t listen to the haters.

Being an entrepreneur is hard, and buying in bulk is quite common to save some money. Yarn is so expensive and it takes a huge part of the cost of each plushies. Take care!
Ok. I’ve figured out what this is about. The first time I ever saw you was at that clearance with your sister and your niece. You all had so much fun. I loved it!!! I really am trying to understand what is wrong with people. I believe it’s just jealousy. Who are we leaving the clearance yarn for? If people are so concerned about low income people, then stop hating others, vote for politicians who care for the poor, who care about healthcare for all, who care about people who are less fortunate. I devoted a huge chunk of my career to helping the poor, but yarn??? Whenever there is a clearance sale on anything I get as much as I want. I bought a bunch of clearance yarn in January and made enough hats for all the residents at our local homeless shelter. I could have left the $3 yarn for someone who will charge $15 for it on eBay. Anyway, I am so sorry people spoiled your beautiful and funny time with your family. I’ll subscribe today and I pray you have a successful business and successful channel. BTW, Lily is a beautiful little girl with so much personality. She could be in movies. ❤

There is a lot of people that are jealous that they can't do what you are doing. They are the people that like to drag other down with them Misery loves company. I have been really fortunate my subscribers have been great but they is a few I have had to "call out". I have had to defend my UA-cam friends many times and bad things have been happening lately. Its disheartening but the good out ways the bad for the most part. You doing this video is the best thing you could have done. It shows that you won't out up with it. Unfortunately in this life some people have nothing better to do then bash others. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and GOOD for you that you were able to find a deal on yarn!! The whole point of a clearance sale is that the store wants it to go to make room for more. I have struggled the better part of my life and I have done many different crafts on top of working a full time job to keep a roof over my head. I understand struggle and believe me when you find a bargain you go for it!! I live in NJ so enough said on that... I am sorry that people have nothing better in their lives then to write hateful things. That reveals their character. I am in my sixties and stumbled on your videos a couple months ago. I thoroughly enjoy your humor and the banter back and forth with you and your husband. I lost my husband 3 days before Christmas of 2019 and then covid it. All I can say is crocheting plushies has actually become my saving grace. I truly appreciate your videos, the relationship you and your husband share and the fact that you are real! My wife and I recently stumbled across your channel. We have enjoyed watching your videos! We work at a Children's Home in SC. We perfectly understand having to purchase our craft supplies on a VERY fixed budget. We have recently discussed trying to go to market and try and sell some stuff. So we have been watching a ton of videos to get ideas.

You don't owe anyone any explanation. We live in a capitalist society, the store wants to sell the yarn, you want to buy the yarn...so you did. If people are upset, that is a problem between them and themselves. I don't know you personally, and I don't need to. You have always interacted positively with your audience. You got this! Hey I'm the one that mentioned this was happening over on r/crochet. I hope you find atleast some (if not a lot) of solace in the fact most people came to your defense about the Original Poster omitting details to manipulate the perception regardless of them being viewers or not. That platform in particular is essentially designed for people to discuss the happenings on other platforms/the going ons in their respective communities (hobby or geographical) so the fact the conversation was happening over there isn't a negative about things being taken off of youtube.
That OP definitely just had a stick up their ass and portrayed the situation in a way they knew would rage bait others. I do hope you can give r/crochet a browse and see what a wonderful community it normally is. This has actually stricken up another conversation over there about such negativity being inappropriate and belonging in the dedicated spaces for gossiping about content creators like r/craftsnark.
I think it was also really awesome that it took awhile for you to be named directly in that thread as those that did know which video was being discussed didn't want to name you as they knew the narrative was misrepresented and didn't want others to hear that nonsense and associate it with your name.
Post the other Haul video, those people will be unhappy with their lives regardless if it exists or not.

My husband actually is an avid Reddit user and saw the other thread too! I was impressed with that too. People are going to gossip I just felt that I wanted to address the negativity here and try to make sure everyone here blatantly knows I won’t tolerate it here.

I myself have done the same thing during Hobby Lobby's cleance sales. We have 3 in my area and I have hit all 3. I do a lot of charity crochet for my area. I am trying to help other people. I don't care if people make remarks about how much yarn I'm buying. They are not the people I am trying to please or help. If I don't hit good sales and make the most of it, I cannot help the people who need it the most. I was so happy for you getting all the yarn that you did. Keep doing you. ❤

I DO have a new rule this year though - I need to have a plan of some kind for everything I buy, rather than just buying it bc it's on clearance.

I did purchase some of your patterns and I am making those for my grandchildren. I work full time and wish I could do craft fairs. My crochet vision is to carry in the fiber legacy passed on to me by women through the ages in my family. I do prayer shawls for many, hats and other items for the homeless and violence victims, and make fun things for my family and friends. I have been doing fiber arts for decades - 6.5 to be exact.
Right now I am making the TS granny stitch dress for a granddaughter with the same name! Ha! Your tutorials on the dress were wonderful. Thank you!

Hi there! Just wanted to say thank you for your positivity and your creativity in the world, and uploading your videos. I enjoy them! I like your spunk! And appreciated your sharing your feelings with us. Years ago, I had a career pause and decided I needed balance and embrace the artistic/crafty side of things. So I learned to blow glass beads and designed jewelry and beadwork. I did craft shows in the Pacific NW for 5 years between May and September, and again October through 2nd weekend in December. I kept track of sales, amounts, costs. My daughter helped me set up then but not all the time - she was a teenager - so a lot of what I did was by myself. I would sometimes get friends to help but the biggest help were the other vendors. Esp to watch the booth when I had to run to the ladies room LOL.
Craft show rules need to be followed. You (and formerly, I) spent far too much money to have the rule-breakers ruin a profitable show for us. It isn't fair. You (and I) followed jury rules, contract rules, and stuck to them. But I am also a big believer in karma and believe me, eventually even the rulebreakers got theirs, though I never wished it on anyone.
Sales/Purchases - good for you! Part of pricing my work related to cost of goods. I shopped the sales too, and was a single parent at the same time. It was rough! I also kept a ledger of all sales, what sold and what didn't, what price points, etc. Sometimes I did well, other times, I did not break even. Talk about low income on those!
It's rough but as long as you are still getting joy from your crochet visions and work, keep it up. Know that those of us who have gone before are cheering you on and that we can relate to EVERYTHING you said! Keep the videos going! and TY to Ben for his service.

I am a crocheter just for fun, and recently started watching yours and other market crochet business video's. I really enjoy getting to see what you do, and it looks like very hard work. Ive done a few markets with a prior local shop years ago. It is not an easy task. You guys are great together and many thanks to your husband for his service! Only recently started watching your videos and I love them. I would have done the same if we had a sale on yarn. I actually once did when one of our craft stores closed down and they had a 40% discount. I waited a few days and then bought all the yarn I need for my crochet business. I loved watching seeing the yarn you got and it made me so happy to see that it is not just me that gets excited for sales. I always wish when I watch other crocheters on UA-cam that they will just buy a lot of yarn so I feel a bit better about my purchases. You are a great person and I love your videos and people like that are just jealous.

I could see all the creatures you were getting and the inventory you were getting ready to make. I'm trying to start my own business and buying yarn on sale, especially clearance is how I have any yarn. Welcome to the world of the judgmental holier than thou do no wrong hypocritical people that have nothing better to do. You take such a risk doing what you do when you do craft shows and even open a shop online especially like you said with the state of the economy right now. The reason behind UA-cam I thought was supposed to bring people joy. You’re a creator who I hope loves what you do and continue to do what you do. I watch this video’s because doing something like craft shows and markets is something I would love to do, but sadly is something I just don’t see myself being able to do so I enjoy watching people do their crafts and things…keep doing what you do, and keep buying that yarn and buy all the damn skeins you need, if someone really wanted the yarn, they would’ve done the same. I'm a new subscriber to your channel for a few weeks now (maybe a month?) So I haven't watched all your videos yet but please don't let the negative voices be louder than the supportive voices. I like watching your market videos, it's fun to see the process as someone who has never done a market as a newer crocheter and honestly I probably never will. I really like your videos, you are fun to watch. I find it interesting to see people who can make money with fiber arts. I don't know why people get so upset about seeing other people buy yarn. I think its fun! I love yarn shopping, on sale or not. Finding a great deal on yarn always makes me feel good and its nice to see other people having that same feeling. The craft space should be more inclusive. This should be a fun thing to do and share with others. No shaming people for buying yarn.
I would love to see a yarn organizing video, I always get new ideas watching people organize their yarn stash.

I love watching your market videos and recap. You seem very genuine and honest. I like hearing the reality of what goes on behind the scenes. Maybe it’s because I’m in a profession that is constantly looked down upon and we are expected to make everything seem like it’s sunshine and daisies when the reality is so far from that (also a low income profession where people expect us to use our own money to pay for supplies that are used on a daily basis). I don’t like people that put on a false front who pretend like everything is amazing when it’s not. So, please keep sharing what you share because I look forward to it.

Don’t let them get you down I buy yarn in summer when on sale I got lots from hobby lobby and Michael’s not knowing exactly what I will do with all of it. I do have plans for most. I only have one store in my home town that we can buy yarn from and it’s extremely rare that we get pretty rainbow colourways so I always buy everything I can so that I can make beautiful crochet projects. You go girl, after two weeks of it sitting there on sale others have had their opportunity, besides the fact that you have as much right to it as anyone!
