John Middleton of Lincoln New Mexico, who rode with Billy the Kid? John Middleton that I know was a regulator, who fought with the Kid on the Tunstill Mcsween side. Can't remember how he died, but it might have been after the war. He was also shot at Blazers mill in Ruidoso New Mexico by Andrew Buck Shot Roberts.
Love this beautiful cave and the waterfall. Great place to hike to. My cousins told me stories as well about all the times his dad took him and all the brothers out there to go camping and stay for nights at a time up there. If you can tell, my profile pic is a picture I took of the cave.
great film, thanks for giving me a heads up, I would love to walk it, where we live there are a number of box canyons that were used by bad guys, and Natives before them to camp and hold their horses.
There was a Country Dance hall in Dallas, Texas named after Belle Star back in the 80's around Prestonwood that a friend and I frequented back in the day...Nice place but don't know if it is still in business
Watch for bigfoots and dogmen . I have seen 2 sasquatch in that canyon , had rocks thrown at a fully armed unit a few times and I have collected 12 track castings there up to 17 inches long . Laugh if you want but Im not a believer , I am a knower .
Fuck Caleb starr and his piece of shit children. James literally signed the native removal act of 1835 with the help of Andrew Jackson. Do you not understand belle starr and her husband Sam murdered natives? You’re a fool haha. Do some research before you brag 🥶😂😂
Great video man I'll tell you another place Ouachita National Forest it's called flat side Mountain are the old folks used to call it forked Mountain if you know the place you know what I'm talkin about is that cave there used to be Jesse James hideout according to my information he stayed there after robbing the bank an old Austin Arkansas and then he robbed a bank in Hot Springs a really cool place to go explore nature and a little bit of History 2

Tim M yea , from mansfield head south down hwy 378 past feed store , past lake spur turnoff , about 6 miles total to rock creek , before you go up the hill , the trailhead will be on the right side ( south ) park there and hike up , stay true to main trail , ( most side trails lead back into self anyway ) go up approximately 3 to 5 miles , your close when u see sign that was in video , caves will be about 40 yards off to right side of trail , waterfall may or may not be flowing .if u go to far you will end up on Poteau mt road at the top of mountain.
Floyd Morgan No , sorry dont have gps for it , its fairly easy to find if you go in at the rock creek trail head off of hwy 378 . I give detailed directions in a reply to someones comment below. I can give more directions if u need , it is well worth the hike : )
@@arkansastrey9694 Hi , I enjoyed your video. The cave is marked on a search on google maps. I took a Dual Sport M/Cycle trip up there last weekend from N.Texas. Tried to find the trail marked on gps on from Poteau Road (158), even asked a police man that drove through he didnt know. I tried to get there from 158 and ran out of time, I see 378 on the map but cant find the rock creek trail head on the map. Can you give me an idea on where the trail head is located ?
@@stevedavis8307 On google maps look at hwy 378 and find wildwood ln. To the west of that , you will see Rock Creek . Turn south onto the trail there. ( at the bridge) . Stay to the main trail , within a mile or so you will enter national forest. After crossing the creek a few times you will see that sign , not much further the caves will be off to the right and up from the trail about 50 yards. Depending on rainfall the waterfalls. may or may not be running. Also it is a VERY rough ride , especially if you are on a 650. I plan on taking my son up there soon, and will probably take four wheelers this time.
@@stevedavis8307 Its easier on four wheelers , you are basically rock crawling most of the time. You could honestly just hike up there as fast as ride.
@@arkansastrey9694 You ever hear of Robbers Cave State Park, 5 miles north of Wilburton in Latimer County, about 44 miles west of Poteau? The cave here was a well known outlaw hideout for Belle Starr, Jesse and Frank James, the Younger Bros. and their ilk back in the day. There's a natural rock area where they corralled their horses, and the tall rock formations made great vantage points to make sure a posse didn't catch them napping. It's a great park, with beautiful scenery, hiking and riding trails, camping areas, cabins to rent, a wonderful lake with paddle boats, kayaking, and fishing, lots of wildlife, I could go on all day. Just come visit. It's great.
@@rhodawatkins4516 Hi ,Rhonda , yeah my kids attend a yearly church camp at robbers cave , they love it . Seems like i remember reading about people finding gold coins in the creek area back in the 50's

My great grandfather was John Middleton, who was one of the outlaws that enjoyed Belle's favors from time to time.
The Philadelphia philanthropist?
He passed from syphilis, no doudt

I take it that this area has plenty of rattlers, copperheads and a few water moccasins?
Belle is my great great grandmother 😁 my grandfather took great pride in being cherokee and being related to the most notorious woman outlaw
MrFluffers1 they say she was a pretty rough charter , she always had a gun and wasnt afraid to use it .

Amazing place, great movie

I live near her home town, Carthage, Mo. Some of her family is buried near here.
She was in searcy county Arkansas I know a man who knew bell star. He actually named his daughter after her .
My sons great great grandfather was her youngest brother and I know where her old house place in newton county Arkansas
is there anything left or any markers near where the old house was?
would love to meal detect around there specially in the cave.
yeah ive thought the same thing but there is decades of pull tabs , shell casings, and other camping trash that would make it pretty difficult.
