This song really marked the end the 1980's sound, and the beginning of the new 1990's vibe. It was so wildly different than the artists that dominated the 80''s like Madonna, Whitney Houston, Janet and Michael Jackson. This whole 1st album was fantastic.

There are a lot of great songs from this album y'all should check out. I would suggest "Air Of December" "Circle" and "Nothing" as some songs you should give a listen to next.
I fell in love with this song the very first time I heard it. Autumn 1988, my sophomore year of high school, spending my Friday nights performing with the marching band at football games and my Saturday nights hanging out with friends in the crisp autumn air. Ripped jeans, a denim jacket, and BIG hair. Doing the kinds of things teens did in 1988, cruising in the car, gathering with friends in parking lots and playing loud music, drinking a cherry vanilla Dr. Pepper from Sonic, driving country roads telling tales of local urban legends and scoping out the "haunted" spots, or finding a bonfire keg party out in the middle of nowhere. When I hear this song, I can feel those things in my bones. I am 15 again, even if only for a few moments. And that's why I will always love this song. Thanks for the trip, RSR! PS - I always thought her voice sounded like Janis Joplin.

I don't know that she sounds like Joplin, unless her style has changed in the years since this song came out, but she definitely looks a lot like her, especially in this video!

When this song came out, it was very different to what I'd heard on the radio before. The 80s weren't big on "hippy-dippy" or "boho" stuff. EB & the NB were ahead of their time, in that the "grunge" of the mid 90s are almost a continuation and exploration of this "boho" sound. Thanks for the reaction. Y'all are so close to 500K!!

She's a fellow Texan from the Dallas area and has been married to Paul Simon since 1992. This song was from their debut album and I had this on cassette. Such a mellow, laid-back sound and I love her twang!
The guitar solo with the env filter is straight funky groovin
I love her Bluegrass with Steve Martin
Great groove!
Saw em play back in the day for next to nothin at Club Dada in Deep Ellum. Cool then. Cool now.
I'm glad you did this song. I remember it well. I always thought her voice and song itself was so unique and so different. That's what I loved about it. It didn't sound like anything else at that time.
This song has always been a bop! I used to love singing this one at karaoke back in the day
I think the bill should ring on Frida. Laura bell a, laura bell bundy
She's probably got about 4 videos, i'd go ahead and have a lot screwing up cause she's a baby doll, her cheek dances. It moves like I don't kno I couldn't write it and it's cutting that back. But it can dance for a car all right I love
I'm thinking that the bell burned you by the Bundy bell. It needs to be rain, so my needs to ring up. Laura bell Bundy, the bundy bell ring, the bell ring, Laura spell Laura bell bundy. I'm telling you, I'm talking to her, oh, yeah? It's OT mojo. It's mojo
I'll tell you, I'm not that bad. Bundy. Laura baby laura bundy baby bell bundy laura bell
😅😅😅😅
Haven't heard this one in a Long While! Amazing Guitar 'Riff'! Don't recall hearing them too much over-the-air in the day. So I'd Love to hear More, since I don't have any of Their CDs! Thanks for the Reaction, Guys! :)
They played the heck out of this song on college radio and MTV. It’s great. And Little Miss S is a great song as well.
ICONIC SONG!….. which you should hear the band 10,000 Manics too.. this was the Era of Folk Bohemian Rock inspired bands… Lisa Loeb “Stay” or 10,000 Manics “Trouble Me” …..you need to CHECK OUT
I'm blown away by you guys' selections today! Love this band and this song! Their second album, "Ghost of a Dog" is an absolute gem! Saw them in concert back in the early 90's with Blue Rodeo. Wow! you talk about one of the best concerts I've EVER seen, hands down! "Black and Blue" would be my next pick!
I recently rediscovered this song and the more I hear it, the more I like it!
They were/are heavily influenced by the Grateful Dead. Their entire first album, *Shooting Rubber Bands At The Stars* is 🔥
Totally agree! I wore that cd out lol
I would add their second "Ghost Of A Dog" though less commercial is brilliant
@@O_Towne_Bear I agree, I really liked it quite a lot.
Estimated Profit with guitarist definitely very Jerry 🎸
@@rifki9055 Very.
It's like hippie funk with a Carly Simon/Stevie Nick's type singer. It just works.
It sucks that she doesn't get the recognition that she used to cuz she's so deserving, her and Sophie B. Hawkins.
💯%!
@@juliewhite7469 Ty so much for agreeing! Was it just for Edie or Sophie to?
@@josephprovencher6345 Both 🥰
I've been waiting for this song and Sophie B. Hawkins .
@juliewhite7469 Oh that's awesome, you have great taste! I love it when people listen to more than one type of music! I go from Dolly Parton, to Madonna, to the Carpenters, to Loreena McKennitt and Sarah Brightman of course etc. BTW, Sophie has new music out which you can check out on her official UA-cam channel and website ♥️
My favorite by this group is Circle of Friends. I also love Ghost of a Dog and Oak Cliff Bra.
This is one of my favorite songs!!! It's a vibe 💯Other #FF suggestions: Eryka Badu - On & On (video) or Tyrone (live); Meredith Brooks - B&tch and Garbage - I'm Only Happy When it Rains. All new artists!!
Meredith Brooks - B!tch and Garbage - I'm Only Happy When it Rains *YES!!!*
Yet another example of the diversity 80s music offered up. All of it was great!
She's been married to Paul Simon since 1992
Why is it so important to connect her to a man? Can’t she be an artist on her own two feet?
@chrisgilbert9076 ,
Actually, I connected him to her. It has absolutely nothing to do with her as an artist. Just a fact about her life. No different than when they reacted to "One Headlight" and people pointed out that Jacob Dylan was Bob Dylan's son. It's just more info about the artist.
The New Radicals "Someday We'll Know" (Official Music Video)
I love Edie❤. You gotta react to her version of Bob Dylan's A Hard Rain’s A‐Gonna Fall! Soundtrack of Born on the 4th of July. A movie you should watch too!! ❤
That guitar solooooooo whoooooooh my god he got an awesome sound out of that "WOW" dreamy sounding guitar amazing
L b b l b b l a u r a, no b e o l, hyundai b u n b, b, laura bell bunday
I'm playing the name of Laura bell's song as cowboy song? She's got there 4 radios she was the hottest baby ever brother. Hey how outfits I'll come on now get it right
Eddie was, yeah, eighty, yeah. 80 and Laura bell high and may and may.
😅😅😅😅😊😊
She should have let my point to get off of her. And enjoyed standing behind her, oh, yeah. You know of course the party after the show hello😅😅😅😅😅😅
Can yall please do Stevie Wonder Finger Tips thanks 😊
One and Two. Check out his version of Alfie. ✌️
Great Reaction and long over due. She's amazing. She and Rickie Lee Jones, Stevie Nicks along with Mellisa were in my CD changer in my truck for years in the late 80's and early 90's.
Great job, Amber! Three new artists with completely different styles. Now when are you going to do the much requested Natalie Merchant?
Great composition, vocal, lyrics, fretless bass, auto-wah guitar solo... yes please!
FEMALE FRIDAY REQUEST
IN THIS MOMENT
BIG BAD WOLF!!!!! 🐺 🐺 🐺
Amber, I think it's time to get back to the Country on Female Friday. Emmylou Harris, like Linda Ronstadt was part of S. California Country Rock music. Emmylou's 1st hit was a CR song called, Two More Bottles of Wine, you'll love it. ✌🏼
It’s been forever since I’ve heard this one! Blast from the past for sure. Thanks for reacting to it. Some different Canadian voices you might find interesting are Alesia Cara, Nelly Furtado, Alannah Myles, Michael Buble, The Weeknd, Platinum Blonde, Gowan and too many more to name. Hope you are able to check out some of them. BTW, glad you enjoyed Barenaked ladies…Love them.
Add Amanda Marshall to that list, I’ve been asking for a reaction to her song Dark Horse still one of my fav songs
@@Northerngirl15I would've played
@@Northerngirl15I'm sure that you would've smelled or pulled me still😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Sarah McLachlan.😊
@@allendixon7700 huh?
I remember her bouncing around Dallas back in the 80's. Really cool person.
Sounds like NATALIE MERCHANT
They are way overdue for Natalie Merchant's "Wonder" and "Carnival" (Official Videos)
Man, I love the mid-90s when anything was open
cute song. She's Paul Simon's wife since 1992. next
Wow! That was dismissive. Somebody in the band hurt your dog, bro?
You should react Jeff Healey. He was the singer in Roadhouse with Patrick Swayze. My favourite song of his is Angel Eyes. He became blind as a kid from cancer and passed when he was 41 when the cancer came back. Incredible sing, song writer and guitarist
I'm literally heard this song a 100 times or more. Never knew who sang it! Thank you for picking it Now I know
90s before the 90s!
