I like them but I would put a coat of Green Tea over to tone down the busyness of all the color and brown crystals, only my opinion 😁. I too like to make triangles and even diamonds of S & C's that make it more dramatic. What if you used something like birch for 2x over design with then 1 coat of sandstone so not as many crystals? Nice to see another video from you! So many choices right? 😂
Omg thank u so much for this!!! I need to buy Birch 😂 I do have green tea tho. That might be a good option! I so appreciate this - it’s just blah to me. She needs a face lift 😂 trying to do more vids but it’s also my busy time in real estate 🏡
So funny when you have a vision of what you want the outcome to be and yet it comes out beautiful in it's own right! At least now you have an idea as to what you can do next time to get exactly what you were hoping for. Seriously though, i am in love with them both! The colors - 😮. So in love! 😍
Lol right?! But that’s the creative process I guess 😝 to tweak it and refine things along the way. I do love them too - they are all my babies that I need to snuggle with before I can part with them 😂 miss you kimmy!!! You guys should come visit again this summer! So much to photograph this year! That was so fun 🤩
Both are beautiful! I favored the second bowl, but then the center of the first bowl is so rich that I thought if that center were on the second bowl, the color matches would all vibrate together beautifully. That is nit picking! They are both wonderful to look at.
You could put a clear mix on top and refired it. I did the same thing- I put a clear mix on top of Amaco Winter Wood because of it's roughness and I loved how it turned out.
Watching as you talk through your thought process is so helpful. I am using stoneware clay for the first time and anxious to try a peacock effect on a bowl. I think your bowls are beautiful...I hope mine come out as good.
Aw thank you! So glad you find my thought process helpful!! I love the way glazes show the white stoneware and little flecks of grog..I bet they will be beautiful! I always go a little heavier on my brush on the inside of bowls to make sure they ooze and flux together and run…Good luck 🍀 😘!!!
Just checking in and wanted to share a new glaze I used for a peacock bowl. I used the new Ivy by Mayco and wow the crystals that formed are just spectacular. It is a runner so if you have a chance to use it I think you'll be very happy. Also used copper jade as cover coat on another and with S & C blues just a stunning combo. Hope your real estate adventures are going well as well as your homestead. We are very busy as well. 👍🥰 Catherine
Ooooooohhhh my! Catherine, thank you so much for this message. Just the fact that you were thinking of me is so sweet and thoughtful ❤️. Really made my night! I would love to see your pieces!! Is there anywhere that I can see them? Thank you so much for the info..I’m going to buy Ivy!! I haven’t tried the copper jade either - would love to see what those glazes look like 😍 I hope your summer has been great-we have gotten the biggest cucumber 🥒 harvest EVER! Matt’s canning up tons of pickles and we will take the rest to the food pantry ..it’s been a late start for everything else this year 🤷🏻♀️ but all is well and busy!! 😘
They are both beautiful! I would leave them as is. And if you make another, remember that a gloss glaze works better on top of a matte finish glaze. Instead of the Matt on top of a gloss glaze
14:25 Hi. I had a similar thing happen to me when I was disappointed with the matte effect after the glaze firing. I think the Oatmeal was a good idea. It does make it more shiny, doesn’t it? Personally the Jaded comes out nicer on the black. I actually thought it was Leapin Lizard. Maybe experiment with the first one with a layer of Celedon Bloom or a crystal that doesn’t have a matte finish. I reckon you will be happier. The outsides are fine how they are. Very earthy and interesting. The second one is lovely as is. I would leave it. Good luck. Love your work. ❤❤
Hi 😂 omg thank you for this!!! Yes the oatmeal made it more shiny! I agree about the jaded on the black clay …way nicer! I really appreciate the time you took to give your feedback. You’re awesome thank you ❤️
OMG GIRRRRRL!!! They couldn’t be more perfect!!! I don’t know exactly what you were going for kit damn I would be sooo happy with these. When you say you’re not sure if you’re ok with it what do you mean? What would you change about it. Love these soo much. Was so excited to see your video pop up.
I seriously love you!! I would somehow make it brighter and smoother on the outside 😂 but if you love it then now I love it! I thought of your flux trick too while making this video! The footage was from months ago so I will give your flux a try!!! Drying it out first. Thank you so much - I’m so glad u like them! ❤️❤️😘
You are too sweet. You could always put a few coats of clear over the first one. Did the second one turn out more glossy? I feel like they look soo much alike. Not twins but definitely related! Lol
@@micheledickey4066 hahahaha that’s funny 😄 they are cousins! I’m into making new pots now so we will see if I RE glaze it later! Happy Memorial Day my friend ❤️

Sorry, gotta go. Too much ‘suck n smack’ as u talk. Why people making videos don’t listen back n hear themselves I don’t understand. UA-cam videos r the only place that this ‘suck n smack’ is so prevalent. U don’t hear the pros doing it as they speak because it’s so annoying. Guess it’s more of a trigger for me. N I so wanted to see the process n results too.
