    That’s a huge bucket. Good job getting the dirt out without deforming the sides.

    Pocatello idaho here. Depending on which section of the cemetery we are digging, it is either straight dirt or rocks and bolders the size of small dogs.

      Northwest Ohio, we got clay when we dig graves. This soil in the video… hell I’d steal some for my own yard.

      The yard I work in is insanely rocky. We’ve pulled 3 boulders out, about maybe 5 feet tall, over the course of the year and a half I’ve been there so far. So huge it couldn’t even fit in the bucket, the operator rolled it upwards against the wall of the hole to get it out, and then he slowly rolled it elsewhere with the backhoe

    We always used to put our pile boards right to the edge on one side, and left the setup board on the other so the dirt would go on the board instead of the grass. Kept everything much cleaner.

    You should try it by hand like we did once and it was rock filled clay and it was my granddad’s grave.

    Why do you need a big wide back hole to dig up for caskets

    Thought a UK made digger was a long way from home! Nice and neat machine work.

    That sure didn't look like a 6ft deep hole, I'd say 4 1/2 to 5 tops. That puts the top of the 30inch casket only under the 24 to 30 inches. Seems shallow

      On a different channel they said they don’t bury people 6 feet under anymore. They don’t really need to because these days there are vaults.

    • @sonofanug
      @sonofanug 2 місяці тому

      Yep, 6 ft. was depth to stop animals from smelling anything and digging it up. They could chew through the wooden coffins, but they're not getting or smelling through the sealed concrete. Also, you can use large cinder blocks on top of the vault as a headstone foundation.

    Unless the guy standing in the grave is 8 foot tall, That hole is not 6 feet deep.

    • @stevencraig
      @stevencraig 2 дні тому

      Apparently not all states/provinces require graves to be six feet deep anymore if burial vaults are used.
