If anyone is still confused as of why Rxg7 at 17:32 is devastating like I was, here it's: First of all, there's no cover for Queen xh7 mate, which I believe it's pretty obvious. After the king captures the rook, queen G5 with check. Again only the king can move, there are no protections, and only available square is h8. Then queen to F6 check and Rook G1 mate.
This man not only calculates chess, he calculates his viewers and in a way predicted that the arrows will bait us here. Not wrong and better yet, not disappointed.
I'm trying to watch all your videos and this is one of my favorites - the ladybug, the arrows, and how sad I got when you said you might never be a grandmaster - so many emotions!!! Makes this the best one so far!
@Eric Rosen 9:35, I believe probably the only way to combat your plan is to play 13.... d5, this way, after 14.b4 is met with ...Nc4, a strong knight outpost as well as preventing your light-square bishop from coming to b5.
I know it's an old comment but that doesn't work for black because after d5, there's exd5, cxd5(or the night id still trapped) and then bishop b5 winning the Queen in a pin, as the c pawn has been captured.
Around here: 10:36 He had the move Bc7 ... If Eric plays b4, he responds with b5 attacking the queen with his pawn while creating a getaway square on b7 for his Knight.
After c7-c6 move he had just move bishop g6-c7 instead of queen e6, and if b4, answer b5, and the knight is protected by the bishop, so the knight is saved...
At 10:08 BC7 could have save the Night after B4 you play B5 attack the queen while defending the Nigjt once Queen moves you can take the Night back to B7 and continue the game. Kindly identify if we can still trap the Night.
At around 18:30, move 33 was Bc4 to trap the rook, but would Ba6 have been more direct? There are no checks and black cannot prevent c8=Q for long, I think mate is probably forced but maybe can be delayed by something like g7, but really not for long. Like, at all.
Wouldnt black have a free pawn and the attack on the bishop with the queen if they trade knights at 15:34? Also, the queen defends the b5 pawn... Or am I missing some like in between move by white or something...? 😄
The muhler attack (prolly spelt wrong)? Is this not the guicco piano main line in the beginning? I wasn't ever taught this line I've actually figured it out myself and I play it super strong (at my 600 now 700 level)
10:35 it seems to me black can escape the predicament by playing Bishop C7, then after white plays pawn B4 black plays pawn B5 attacking the queen, then after white moves the queen the knight can escape to B2. I think this works and pretty proud of finding it in a fairly short amount of time. Let me know if anyone sees an issue with it.
Please move your mic closer to your mouth. Thanks for the excellent instruction. Even though I don't know what subs and emotions are, I still enjoy watching superlative play.
I am only 1200 but i knew he blundered in middle game .. he can just get out of the issue by opening up the center by pushing the pawn instead of the queen
Yeah though he says that it wasn't because he became stronger in time, says he was about the same strength as when he was much younger. Idk if that's just Ben trolling of course though :)
@@sparklecharmer it's a fun opening for white, you should try it out sometime. You can rarely even transpose into it with Nf3. I actually thought you were familiar with it and was hoping to find out the technical difference between it and a gambit. Oh well 😉

Well, "grand" literally means "large" (coming from grandis in Latin, and grant in Old French), so the first step is to gain a lot of weight. It's understandable why Eric doesn't want to become a GM.
Came for excessive arrows. Was not disappointed.

I think Rg1 also works after Kh8. Queen mates on either g7 or g8 next move.
Thank you so much for clarifying 👍
4:14 is gold 😅. My mans appreciates the good things in life. I’m glad you’re safe Rosen.
At 17:31 you had a beautiful sacrifice. Rxg7! And mate is not stoppable.
well spotted
pls explain?
He has Queen tho
Rxf7 Kxf7 Qf5#, i guess.
But black has queen Qb2 so that's not possible.

Not only a master of chess but a master of using arrows and getting his viewers to watch because of a ridiculous amount of arrow usage. Love it! 💯
Thank you Eric for sharing, your games with commentary are really helping me to learn how to think about certain positions, keep up!

Why no Evans gambit? :(
When u didn't take the rook and he attacked your Knight I got excited

4:14 The great Eric Rosen spooked by a tiny arthropod

Hey Eric I have a question can you survive just by playing chess as an IM
Mr Marks TV uh in terms of monetary income, no not even grandmasters can make much of a living on chess alone.
At around 18:30, move 33 was Bc4 to trap the rook, but would Ba6 have been more direct? There are no checks and black cannot prevent c8=Q for long, I think mate is probably forced but maybe can be delayed by something like g7, but really not for long. Like, at all.
Thought so too
wow , missed 28. Rxg7 in the Italian game .
Lol the moment you said actually is the thumbnail
I was just wondering why that guy put his Knight on the edge of the board rather than just castling.
Eric's first opponent showed a lot of respect🤣🤣🤣
Nice video! Learned a lot from the way you approach the game (I like the arrows xD)
7:30 I don’t think “ h3 bh5 really affected anything “ ur qa5 move would’ve been met with bd7 if u didn’t play h3
I'm disappointed he wasn't allowed the Anastasia's mate :(
you can get these lines in evans gambit too i think
Arrows arrows everywhere. If there is world war 3 eric is using his arrows.

He can play Nxb5 cxb5 and then Bxb5 pinning the queen, d5 works though (I looked at it with an engine lol not trying to flex)
For black to avoid losing the knight, would move 13.-Bc7 do anything? If 14. b4, b5 - attacking the queen and giving an escape for the knight? 🤔
I wonder at the time 7:00, if black plays Bxf3, is it better off to take the bishop back with the white queen?
The hell what's with that great analysis??? 7:40 XD
11:00 why not b4?
2:45 You could have played d5. Blacks Bb6 move was a mistake, for him it would be better to play Bb4+.
5:39 I wish u explain why u played the bishop and not the pown directly
On move 7, why isn't pawn d5 considered to kick the knight?
3:12 isn't the line b4+ because b6 you can do d5 then e5

why everone is delaying the castleing??

its easily stopped with knight h6 among other moves

11:30 why not play b4 here?
