I've seen them well over 10 times during their early career & can confirm they were great to see live. I'm so glad I was lucky enough to see them in their prime (imo)
this is what bands with incredibly layered studio vocals do live. How do you expect this man to sing for 3 mins straight without breathing? 12 times a night? Many many many many many metalcore bands out there with "bad" concerts. Ronnie Radke does this, for example, and hes one of the biggest legends in post hardcore of all time. and to this day, in his late 30s is still putting on amazing shows. Also its worth noting that they didnt really blow up in popularity until years after these performances. These tours they were only openers, then suddenly from 2011-onward they started headlining EVERYTHING. Ask most og AA fans (personally I saw them multiple times in 2010 and 2011) and they will tell you they didnt see them til 2012 or later. These guys were only known at this time by people who were heavily obsessed with the electronicore sound, such as myself. They became big because sumerian records, they worked hard and toured often, put an album out every 2 years, and changed their sound to more mainstream with the release of FDTD, which got them on things like sirius satellite radio, and playing Mayhem festival and other big name rock fests. It should also be stated that at this time, there were no standards for metalcore concerts. If we could go see the band, we had a great time, even if they blew chunks (AA! was REALLLLY bAD in 2009 when nick barham was replacing austin) That def never stopped anyone from falling in love with attack attack though....

I understand some bands have switched their style, an example is BMTH, yes they’ve incorporated different styles over the years, but everything they put out had originality to it, it has the BMTH flare to it, and Oli has listened to what the fans want and has been putting out heavier music.
