It's crazy to me that Danny put together two of the most iconic/influential metalcore era albums of all time on an absolute whim with zero training or technique. The man was truly born to do this and while I'm a huge fan of his, I wish he took that more seriously. SUAS is more favorite album of all time, hands down. his voice on the first two records is absolutely amazing, sad to hear his perspective on it. hopefully he grows to appreciate it and the impact those albums had on metalcore.
I personally love it as I’m sure many of us do, but if you look through his perspective, he’s hearing a rough beginning and years of poor technique hurting his voice, so it makes sense that it’s hard for him to hear now
I’ve never been a fan of country and even though I didn’t like his first solo album, his 2nd album “Shades Of Blue” was phenomenal. I’ve listened to that album so much and really made me appreciate that talent that Danny has in his voice.
Very fascinating to hear him describe the vocal technique in the early years and how much he’s changed. Keep on growing Danny. I’m here for the ride and for whatever is next

Dandy has this thing where he thinks that everyone wants to force him to scream like no. It’s not the screaming that I crave it’s the metalcore sound I crave. He could have let the band go a killswitch route where it’s mostly cleans but chugging and double pedals instrumentally
Okay, compliment for the interview questions: I did not know this band, but I stuck with the video because I was super interested in what he had to say about doing vocals. Most interviews are about songwriting, musical influences, next release and questions "around" the band, which is important, but a lot of interviews are all the same and very boring because of that. In my opinion, there are not neeeeeeeeearly enough interviews in which guitarists or singers get to answer questions in detail about their craft and related struggles and progress, how much work they put into it, what they are working on exactly etc. A lot of metal fans are musicians themselves, so I bet this type of content is interesting for a lot of people. I am a singer, too, and when he said that he didn't sing metal in his private life and had to prepare differently for rock/metal, I could relate to this soooooooo much because changing vocal styles is SUCH a tough thing!
