Wonderful trip report, Alex! That seat looks amazing, and that new IFE is incredible. Beautiful camerawork as always, and the quality of this one was top notch! Job well done!
Glad your 737 MAX didn’t CRASH like that Lion Air plane did. Also glad Boeing has fixed that problem with the plane so more 737 MAX planes can get back in the air!
Jasmine Johnston MONTREAL, Jan. 22, 2020 /CNW Telbec/ - Air Canada today said that it has now removed the Boeing 737 MAX from its operating schedule until June 30, 2020.
I have flown the 737 Max up front twice on AC this year. Best parts are the overhead bins and the screens (same size as in the pods up front on the 777 and 787). You can get spoiled by the new planes. And I hope AC brings the new map system to the 777/787. This week I flew to Florida in Premium AC Rouge on a 767. Similar seats but of course no screens and I forgot how small the bins are.
Thanks Alex for this great video showcasing Air Canada’s Business Class. It really looks like a great place to sit! Looking forward to more of your YYC spotting videos!
Hope you do get your 747 wish. My wife and I flew non stop Seattle to London UK in 1973 when we were very young on a PanAm 747 fantastic. Also had several occasions to fly in other various configurations including a Lufthansa (Business Class) and an Air Canada Combo London to Toronto. Always a special experience. Thanks for the videos. We are booked on a 737 Max in Oct YHZ to VVR non stop BusinessClass Thanks for the videos. Cheers and safe flying.

Fantastic review of this flight. I’m looking at reviewing AC’s B737 MAX 8 on a transatlantic flight and was curious to see what it looks like. Thanks a lot for this video!
Man what a wonderful sound during takeoff! That's why I like to seat before the engine at the window seat it doesn't matter the type of the aircraft jet. Beautiful sound. Congrats for this nice trip report
The seat you flew in and the service you received are identical to those I had on the Air Canada 737 Max 8 service from Toronto to Shannon and back, in September. However, on my flight it was called Premium Economy. I had booked business class in the spring, but when they put the Max on the flight, they refunded me about $2000 because they said the new planes were not equipped for business class. For all intents and purposes, it was similar to business class and I enjoyed both flights thoroughly. With regard to the Lion Air crash, it’s fair to say that a whole cascade of events occurred, one of which was Boeing’s failure to tell airlines about their new MCAS system. Decisions were faulty at Lion Air too. But it does not appear that there is a fundamental design flaw in the aircraft. I refer you to Mentour Pilot’s channel for an excellent discussion.
The engine, apu and winglets. The max as the new cfm engine with a new blade technology can't miss it lois they're bigger. They have the distinct new winglets that rise above and below the wing and the apu unit to the back looks narrower compared to the NG 737.
awesome camera. feels like the viewer is riding with you. cute latino music @ 7:05 but too short...touch screen is off the chain..wonderful job. great description all the way..im an avionic tech and pilot too
Nice review and must be nice flying on a pretty new model aircraft ( sorry Calgary didn't get Winter Games! ). This is from T1 in YYZ? I haven't seen information signs like this before, unless I've never acknowledged them 0:16 They look stylish and different!
Great report. I have make the same route twice with same AirCanada but unfortunately both were in an Airbus A320. Look forward to fly in a B737-8 Max but it will be in WestJet.

love the new boeing 737 max 9s with allaska airlines they also fly the max 8s as well i believe air canada also uses their max 8s on transatlantic flights over the atlantic to dublin ireland they certainly have the range for it from halifax. great aircraft however with the lion air max 8 crash in indonesia lately theyll have to find out if was problem with instrument readings by crew? that aircraft was only in service for a few months.
Alex thank you for the great video. However for what one pays for business class it looks small compared to what business class used to be not too long ago.
Once sat next to a 7"2ft basketball player on long-haul economy.. don´t even know how he was able to move but I guess Businness Class is the way to go if you´re able to afford it :)
@Alex Praglowski Aviation: Great trip-report, nice engine sound, but what about noise canceling insider the aircraft? Any advantage compared to older series of the 737? What would you say? A320 neo on the other hand is much quieter, so how does boeing compete?
Flown on A320neo, the engines sound a bit different, but after all, I would say pretty much the same. Although the wider seat on A320neo is a nice feature for us economy class folks.
Thanks Alex. Yet another great, all inclusive review of an Air Canada flight. I found it informative with a lot of information on the new “Max!” Being tall has its advantages but, I guess not so much on a cramped aircraft. Anyway, you didn’t really complain.🙄. Looking forward to your next review. Cheers, Colin.
I’ve never been in t1 I always fly westjet so I fly through t3, I want to see what it looks like last time I was there t3 was in renovation, awesome flight review though I was looking forward to it as always
The engines sound a little like the 787 engines! awesome airplane! i think i flew over 400 hours in flightsim with this aircraft and still think it is one of the best planes in this era
Why are people, moaning about the 737 max didn’t the 787 have loads of issues when it first came out didn’t the A380 also have issues when if first come out
Carl Watson so two planes crashing with 100 people in each that could have been avoided if Boeing trained the pilots to turn off that system the made the nose of the plane dip is just an issue??
Just discovered your channel and subscribed. What kind of camera equipment do you use for filming? A beef I have with AC & WestJet is that neither of them showcase Canadian wines on their alcohol menus unlike other international airlines I've flown on. Lufthansa showcases german wines, Air France will have mostly french wines, even British Airways will have at least one British wine on the list. Much to my surprise IcelandAir had an icelandic wine on their menu. Wasn't half bad; on the dry side though. The Canadian airlines have every other countries wines on their menus but no Canadian ones. And our wines consistently win international awards. Shame on AC and WestJet.
can't wait for the Max to get back in the air, again. While I am still angry at Boeing for what they did to the C Series Program, I am certainly looking forward to flying onboard an Air Canada 737 Max.
Great review. Love the new screen and IFE review...being airplane geek...that could get me yz to yc easy just that with real time rending/rotational360x360; )
Our all family flew on march 2018 the same route and let me tell u that airplane smelled like a brand new car...sorry airplane. The entertainment for kids was amazing.
They did the same seats as American Airlines' new Business Class/Premium Economy seat. Sad! Between the overhead bins being lower and the seats being smaller, there is not aircraft more claustrophobic.
Just came back to compare with the new a220/bombardier c series and this doesn’t stand a chance in comfort. Tiny windows, narrow seats, and loud cabin noise.
Very impressive with the IFE compared to most of the AC Business I travelled on. I flew from ORD - YYZ and always get bored since there is only few shows and music on their tiny screens. I wish they could use 737 on that route since it is so popular.
Thanks for the video. Coming from Calgary myself - I love West Jet. But Air Canada seems to be gaining traction again ! Hope to fly one of these bad boys soon.
Alex: good vid!!! Nice airplane, I love airplanes my father was an aircraft electrician. 6-8 eh, you must have a bitch of a time with modern day cars??? What do you drive an old Continental???
Awesome trip report! Throwback to when I flew WestJet's MAX, YYC-YOW, it was really quite nice. Economy doesn't feature IFE, but even still, the service was great, and I was lucky enough to get a full power takeoff. Gotta love those LEAP-1B engines eh?
Fantastic trip reort Alex. Just as well those delays didnt stop you from missing your 737 MAX flight. I absolutely loved that window view from 4A. The cutlery with ACAs logo and so on all made it look very special indeed. Food looked awesome. Well done and very well put together. Look forward to more of your trip reports in the future mate. Liked 😊✈

Nice report Alex .i was just woundering how did you feel when you found out the pilots on this aircraft were undertrained and not informed about the existence of MCAS and if there had been a problem with it the would not know what to do. My family and I did the same flight in September and I was furious and disgusted at Boeing for putting us in that situation.
Sweet!! cant wait to see them in Jamaica. Think this the best 737 Max product out there with Copa and Icelandair just behind. Not really sure if the lav size was due to the airline or Boeing but one thing for sure, it can be bigger.
Wonderful trip report, Alex! That seat looks amazing, and that new IFE is incredible. Beautiful camerawork as always, and the quality of this one was top notch! Job well done!
I cant even afford coach but ok 🤪 neds more carbon tax
Glad your 737 MAX didn’t CRASH like that Lion Air plane did. Also glad Boeing has fixed that problem with the plane so more 737 MAX planes can get back in the air!

I hope they fix the problems with this plane. It's a beautiful bird that needs to fly, but it needs to do it safely.
Honestly I would pay every dollar I have to stay of that plane
Indeed. Amazing plane!
I hope that plane never rises to the skies again
@@chadmarkz4334 I don't know how I'll fly on 777X and other Boeings after this...
They're actually retiring a few of them.
Fantastic video man! Enjoyed it! Liked!
Beautiful trip report Alex! I just love listening to those engines on takeoff!
Only tried Y class on the max, all I’ll say is I purposely book the Airbus flights to avoid them. IFE was great though!

Yep, they open alot quicker then Airbus or Embraer
Fantastic review of this flight. I’m looking at reviewing AC’s B737 MAX 8 on a transatlantic flight and was curious to see what it looks like. Thanks a lot for this video!

Wonderful trip report as always!
Awesome job Alex! The new cabin looks spectacular. It's modern, it's clean, it's Canadian! Awesome job documenting as always. Keep up the good work!
Great Video Alex. Thoroughly enjoyed it. You have put it together brilliantly. Been looking forward to this video for a while. One of your best yet.
Thank you Daniel, much appreciated!
Oh whoa! Your camera has amazing quality probably the best I've seen yet. Glad that it's from fellow Calgarian.
Thanks for the video for the next time improving the service to travel with fully confidence and secure our trip.

Fantastic Tripreport mate! I think this business class is amazing, I really love the cabin of AC‘s MAX, thumbs up! :)
Great video! Question....how can you tell the difference between a 737 MAX, a 737-900 and a 737-800?
The engine, apu and winglets. The max as the new cfm engine with a new blade technology can't miss it lois they're bigger. They have the distinct new winglets that rise above and below the wing and the apu unit to the back looks narrower compared to the NG 737.

Have you ever been in the lav on a Bombardier CRJ. I am cramped at 6’, you would really suffer.
That mini Ge-90 sound on approach 🤗
U risked ur life
Great video, Alex, except fot the ads! Were you flying on pass?
whats up with the wifi?
Great trip report
I took the B737 MAX 8 too, it was the best air canada plane I took, the screen is great and everything else. (I took the plane to Montreal to Calgary)
Why are people, moaning about the 737 max didn’t the 787 have loads of issues when it first came out didn’t the A380 also have issues when if first come out

Neither of those 2 planes had fatal crashes, genius.
Hi Alex, is there enough legs room for a 6foot 6 person on the max 8 and I like yr vid.
Amazing report! Hoping to get my own reports to that quality :)
windshear on short final?
You get tablecloths? 😧
Less closed captioning please

Good move going with business - economy is super cramped even for a 6 footer.
I was praying for you the whole time XD
can't wait for the Max to get back in the air, again. While I am still angry at Boeing for what they did to the C Series Program, I am certainly looking forward to flying onboard an Air Canada 737 Max.
I am going to calgery in a few days
I wish AA kept this IFE on their 737 Max, 737 Oasis and 737 Kodiak aircraft!
Great review. Love the new screen and IFE review...being airplane geek...that could get me yz to yc easy just that with real time rending/rotational360x360; )
You got some balls flying on that casket with wings.
Alex, did you seat 4A have less recline that the other seats in Business Class. Ps- Excellent video. The 737 is supposed to be an excellent plane, no?
You were very lucky, I think
YOUR LUCKY TO BE ALIVE FLYING ON THIS MAX.....BOEING SCREWED UP BIG TIME
Looks great!
GREAT VIDEO!
I AM FROM THE FUTURE OF 2019 at least the engines did no LEAP off
2020: Oh, you sweet, summer child...
For the same price you can fly on a wide-body plane YYZ to YYC and enjoy the business seats that recline completely
Westjet’s new 787 ?
This model 737 Max 8 has problem. Over 300 people was kill in 6 months. Would you fly with this model ?
Absolutely!
Two crashes out of the hundreds of thousands of 737 max 8 flights. Its a pretty reliable and nice plane.
The The they werent human error crashes tho, mechanically issues
it's safe now. but airbus has killed people too
Our all family flew on march 2018 the same route and let me tell u that airplane smelled like a brand new car...sorry airplane. The entertainment for kids was amazing.
you should see air canadas business class in the 787/ 777
They did the same seats as American Airlines' new Business Class/Premium Economy seat. Sad!
Between the overhead bins being lower and the seats being smaller, there is not aircraft more claustrophobic.
Nice video
Looks to me like a premium economy seat!
No leg room in economy. My knees were pressed up against the back of the seat. Have only experienced this on discount airlines.
Awesome trip report! You're soooo tall btw
Just came back to compare with the new a220/bombardier c series and this doesn’t stand a chance in comfort. Tiny windows, narrow seats, and loud cabin noise.
Glad you survived the danger plane.
Very impressive with the IFE compared to most of the AC Business I travelled on. I flew from ORD - YYZ and always get bored since there is only few shows and music on their tiny screens. I wish they could use 737 on that route since it is so popular.
That looks like 767 you may be wrong!
Thanks for the video. Coming from Calgary myself - I love West Jet. But Air Canada seems to be gaining traction again ! Hope to fly one of these bad boys soon.

Wish to travel thru soon Inshallah Air Canada is comfortable for Traveling
"Brand new" business class is the pod seating for the international flights
The new international pods were introduced in 2014 on the 787s. This seat was introduced in 2017.
These seats are basically the same as Premium Economy. Good to know AC still has IFE. I hate this stupid "BYOD" trend.
Not a product. Marketing has got you using their (incorrect re-invent the language) terms. Products are goods, services are not. Good videos.
This is Air Canada 737 premium economy not business class
Fantastic trip reort Alex. Just as well those delays didnt stop you from missing your 737 MAX flight. I absolutely loved that window view from 4A. The cutlery with ACAs logo and so on all made it look very special indeed.
Food looked awesome. Well done and very well put together. Look forward to more of your trip reports in the future mate. Liked 😊✈
Great trip report.

Can we ... not start that here?
Even as a fan of Boeing sorry to say but I feel the same way. That unprecendeted event shook me in a very bad way!
The report Boeing came out with that was given to all MAX operators said that the issue was most likely a maintenance flaw.
smh!! not now. It was a maintenance issue. If it was an overall problem with the Max, we would had been hearing and seeing other airlines coming with problems. Despite it being a fault that wasnt fixed, Boeing issued bulletins to 737 Max users on how to deal with the problem if it does arise.
Incorrect, the crashed was caused by both an angle of attack sensor and the pilot failing to react properly by hitting the trim reset button which almost all other 737 MAX operators' pilots have been trained to do (United etc.). My family and I did the same flight in September and I was furious and disgusted at Boeing for putting us in that situation.
The seat back looks so cheap and thin, which must share the same seat designer with the Frontier Airline
LUCKY you lived
Sweet!! cant wait to see them in Jamaica. Think this the best 737 Max product out there with Copa and Icelandair just behind. Not really sure if the lav size was due to the airline or Boeing but one thing for sure, it can be bigger.
Video itself very good. meal looked cheap and presentation very low. where is the champagne?
Miss your narration 😢
Cod looked wonderful!
We are scared to travel because of what appening to the Ethiopia Airlines
Easy DIYs - No need for fear, because Max is grounded. It will be fixed before it flies again.
safe now
