Thank you Julie. I am curious about this process and you make it seem rather easy.
You're welcome! It is so lovely, and it is easy.... some people need a little bit of extra help to master the flow and control... I have this resource if you want further help to get started: arty-heaven.teachable.com/p/painting-with-a-stylus-with-encaustic-wax1 Best of luck, and reach out if you need anything further... :)
Thank you so much for your tips. I question. I am struggling because when I try to paint this on top of another layer of wax, I burn down into that layer and the way mixes with the color I'm trying to put down. Any suggestions?
Hi Kelli, you're welcome!
It sounds like you are over fusing, (or applying the second layer before the first layer of wax has cooled enough)... both reasons will result in mixed colours. Try holding your heat source a bit further away, and keep it moving evenly around the board, this will result in a lighter fuse, and therefore less likely to mix the two layers of colour together...
I also have this resource which you might find helpful: artyheaven.com/encaustic-wax-high-heat/
Good luck, and let me know how you get on!
Best wishes, Julie.
Thank you Julie for all the tips and advice I’m sure it will be very helpful I’m very new to this craft
You're welcome! :)

You're welcome, thank you for letting me know. :)
Do you think this tool would work for making details on a piece of cloth for batik?
Hi Elizabeth... I've never done batik, so I can't say for sure, but I don't see why it wouldn't... I believe batik wax works at a lower temperature than encaustic, (but again, can't say for sure) so you might need to keep an eye on the temperature of the stylus, but other than that, I can't see why not... have fun if you give it a go... and if you need more resources, check out here: artyheaven.com/online-courses/
OMG! I am an encaustic artist as well! And I would LOVE one of these.....only - I'm in the US, and as you know....we are a 120 electrical bunch of artists. Is there any chance your stylus company might make a product compatible with US electricity????? It is so hard to find a product like that here. Big hug, cat
Hi Cat, I'm pretty sure they do a US Voltage one... Here's a list of US suppliers, they will confirm specifics with you. Good luck! Let us know how you get on... :) www.encausticart.com/suppliers/united-states-of-america/
Hello, Some great tips, I’ve had my set for about 16 years now picking up now and again, I’ve now started getting back into it, on the stylus I now see you can get many new shaped ends like the petal tip which I love the idea of, do you know if it will fit into the original stylus I have?
Hi - Yes, they do, I was talking to my supplier about this only this week... apparently the part where you tighten the nib into place is above the screw in threads, so you won't risk damaging the threads if you wanted to use the nib in a new stylus in the future. But, yes, the new nibs will work in the old stylus! I'll do a video on it, subscribe to the channel, hit notifications and keep your eyes peeled! :)

I've got a page facebook.com/JulieAnnsGallery/ and a group, facebook.com/groups/1641148886200844/ That should keep you entertained! Let me know if you need supplies if you're in the UK, as they're tricky to come by over here. I'm based in Hertfordshire.
