I just found you on Instagram and am looking forward to more lessons from you.I feel like I found a treasure! Thank you for sharing your skills, gifts and abilities. From S. Alberta, God bless.
Enjoyed watching... interesting finish a flood of wax. I thought it looked great all the way through. 😊 Definitely interested in taking a class at some point. 👍👍
So glad I came across your video. I had done B/W transfers before, but have forgotten, now it all comes back!, I am interested on your painting on iPad…. Wow. Any particular program you used??l
Thank you! I use ProCreate on my iPad. I often find I have to bounce between multiple programs though…Procreate, Canva and Photoshop. I’m no expert but it seems I can’t do everything in one program
Hi Nancy. Sone ppl have had success with inkjet but I’ve not been able to get the transfer to work with anything other than a laser print or a photocopy. Toner seems to work.
@@cindyjamesartstudio, that is true, consensus is, it needs to be toner, and not inkjet. That is WHY I recently purchased a toner printer, also cheaper for replacement cartridges I think
Hi, Maura...so there are techniques to use encaustic on glass and even plexiglass. I haven't gone down that road myself, but one day I will try it! I did a quick Google search for encaustic painting on glass, but nothing really came up. If I find something later on I will definitely repost.

Thank you. I agree it does :)

Thank you very much:)
Beautiful video. Thank you.
Thank you!
Really appreciated your showing us your process. Does it work with inkjet or does it have to be laser printed?
Hi Nancy. Sone ppl have had success with inkjet but I’ve not been able to get the transfer to work with anything other than a laser print or a photocopy. Toner seems to work.

@@Everyhandletaken213the toner lasts a very long time at least!
When you came back in with painting the ground portion, what kind of paint were you using? Watercolor or oils?
Hi Tammy. I used a little bit of watercolour to touch up some cracks on the image transfer but everything else was encaustic wax :)
Can you do this technique on glass
Hi, Maura...so there are techniques to use encaustic on glass and even plexiglass. I haven't gone down that road myself, but one day I will try it! I did a quick Google search for encaustic painting on glass, but nothing really came up. If I find something later on I will definitely repost.
Love it but I'd rather have spider than a fly etc unless its venomous 😆
Are you adding color with encaustic paint, oil paint, or something else?
So I used a little bit of watercolour to touch up the tree -that was in the palette. Everything else was wax.
please what brand of printer do you use? i want to buy a laser for my studio and need to know how expensive i need to go! thank you
I bought a fairly inexpensive printer from Costco a few years ago. It’s an HP Color laser jet pro MFP M180nw
Is your wax cool when you add the water to the back of your burnished image transfer?
Hi Karen. Yes it is mostly cool but I don’t necessarily wait for it to be cold.
Thank you!
Are you applying the image to warm wax, allowing it to cool and then removing the paper?
Yes. That is what I demonstrate in the video. Burnishing then remove with water:)
I didn’t catch what you said the mats underneath were. Can you please let me know. Thanks!

Is that wax you're painting on the landscape area? I see something in your left hand.
Yes it is a block of wax
I know it’sbeen a lo g time but with what paint did you did the bottom?
Hi Maricela. It is encaustic wax. I don’t remember what colours exactly though :)
What kind of paint in the end?
Just wax!
And a little bit of watercolour to touch up the tree :)
Can images be transferred in color in stead of black and white?
Yes, this image was printed with a colour laser printer. Some inks maybe be more permanent than others.
@@cindyjamesartstudio thank you!

This is amazing...but...you talk as everything is a question which is like nails on a chalkboard.
Haha. Well thanks for the critique. My kids would probably agree with you. I would suggest you avoid my videos if it’s that painful for you.
