Similar to how Hitman Absolution is a "Hitman" game but plays like a generic cover shooter with stealth elements.
I really hate it when people call this a Rockstar game... Max Payne 1 & 2 was made by Remedy!!! Published by Rockstar. The first game they pretty much did nothing to the game itself. It's success was because of Remedy, not Rockstar.

The goon playing the piano has stuck with me for a long time. Leading me to learn it myself. I really enjoyed the old comic noir aesthetic of the fun house. During my first playthrough it never occurred to me that you had to shoot the rods at the end of the game, I let vlad throw dynamite because I thought the point was to break the ground. Fun memories!
I remember when this game came out, it was one of the first to show off a realistic physics system. From props being knocked over, to ragdoll physics for the bad guys. There was a whole room JUST to have fun with rolling objects around, knocking things over. It was almost a 4th wall break by the devs saying Yep - just have fun. And as I write this you just mentioned it at 13:50 lol It was new and great fun at the time.

I hate it when people talk about the traffic rules but never mention they can run away from the one walking policeman or run him over and take his weapon, so you would have an extra gun for the mission. - also driving is super chill even if you at 90 mph. - and I don't blame you if you won't feel the atmosphere of just being in the game, it was easier to experience in 2002. I love the mission before the race, because of the lack of music. ( forgot to mention if you don't have the European version you're gonna play a very silent game. ) It's such a nice breezy and fast mission.

I remember renting this so often from my local Rogers Video I basically bought the damn game 2 times over, hell, I ended up buying the very copy when they began liquidating their older Xbox Games. The PC version tho? That was a modders paradise. Shit like Mona the Assassin, Payne Effects, 7th Serpent, Elements of Style, Equilibrium and Vampire Slayer would have melted the Xbox lol
This game definitely ain't for ya. Games for you: Farmville, Tetris Online, Fortnite, Mario, Kart, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed and EA's FIFA, you could be a very good Facebook Gamer streaming Mafia Gangster City or Hayday. These games like max paine make you violent and aggressive.

Growing an attachment to Mona and max’s relationship was so appealing you have to play the Dead on Arrival difficulty just for her to survive
