I loved this game when it came out. The mission where you swap the pistols at the theatre is the immediate prequel to the Hitman: Contracts game, where 47 staggers into the room and passes out and revisits past hits in his delirium. The final mission of Contracts has 2 objectives already completed, which is your handiwork at the theatre in Blood Money
I've read before that mirrors also function in the game. So if you take a human shield while facing a mirror and only knock them out, it counts as a witness since they've seen your face. Amazing detail for an 18 year old game.
yeah i remember using the wife of vinnie sinistra as an human shield to take her to the bathroom without killing her because i just wanted to retrieve the necklasse and i was surprised because i had a witness in an aparent perfect silent assasin run... then i figured. In the chrismas mission the dog also counts as a witness for fuck sake thats bullshit. anyway loved the game
@laurabranigan7761 the dog one always struck me as weird. Like what is it going to testify? "Is this the killer, Snuffles?" "Ruff! Ruff ruff!" Either it's a sick joke, a likely oversight, or a bizarre inclusion. Either way, still one of the best games in the series.
@@TheLeevoy to me it was a sick joke, but still i love the game. It was the hitman that stuck with me, when i was little i watched my friend play codename 47... and then years later i played contracts in ps2 just for fun (i didnt have memory card), and then i played blood money and that was the time in wich i said lets get serious, my best hitman, it was so awesome... even by writing this comment i want to play it again
@laurabranigan7761 I can't tell you how many times I replayed the Xbox Magazine demo disc that had the Blood Money tutorial mission on it. Each time doing it a little different, often just going full psychopath 🤣 it felt so dialed in back then like a truly next gen game. Funnily enough I'm about to replay it on my Switch once it arrives from LRG pretty soon. Totally get where you're coming from.
@laurabranigan7761 the wheelchair in the outdoor mission counts as a witness, amusingly enough as it is an NPC. It cannot be shot dead, the only way to kill it is to make the man in it ride it down a flight of stairs. I wish I was joking. Soeedrunners figured it out years ago when reading the game memory to figure out what the last invisible witness in the level was.
Honestly i want another game exactly just like blood money same gameplay yet new maps i don't even care abt the graphics i jus wanna see another game jus like this
I would go crazy for a Blood Money expansion pack. Very same game, just new and well-done levels. They should make a system so that the fans themselves can create new levels and upload them on a server so others can download them, with the support of graphic modelers, artists, programmers etc., and a rating system that highlights the most appreciated levels so you know which are the better ones to download. I think a lot of gamers would gladly spend money on something like that.
The newer hitman games are exactly that. I'm not sure why people crap all over them so much. They more or less play the same way minus a few small nit picks. Blood money is still my favourite but I would be a liar if I said the newer ones weren't better games. They refined the formula and expanded on everything present in blood money.
@stolenname94 The new Hitman games pale in comparison to the originals. They dumbed them down and streamlined them for modern, average gamer. Plus there's no bugs in the original like homing briefcases.
top 10 games ever and i played countless games. from the start menu you can tell the atmosphere of this game it had the minimalistic digital dystopian future aesthetic like you are using strictly effecient high tech which matches the stoic cold almost machine like nature of agent47 mix that with the religious music that gives soul to the husk . mechanically the slow animations and walking speed of agent 47 fits the grounded pace and level design because it immerses you in the role of a classy assasin trying to assassinate someone in a social setting without getting noticed or leaving any trace behind , this is how the game should be played and the secret 'real '' hard difficulty '' intentionally designed to be self imposed by the players while the menus difficulty is just surface level since players can brute force any level with the amount of tools and weapons available and this freedom is what makes this game so fun and replayable . these small levels are puzzles that can be solved in countless solutions because of the many routes and interactivity of tools and elements between eachother .and when it all clicks while that perfectly fitting music is playing its hard to find a game as moody atmospheric and immerive even modern games with fancy graphics cant match that. its not just the reactive AI and creative tools and but also the little touches of real artists with a vision like the characters design and slow pace and last breath slow motion or the news paper and weapon design ..ect i can go all day. finally my biggest gripe about this game is that it wasnt long enough not even long enough for notoriety system to be relevent . in my first playthrough by the time i reached the last mission i thought i wasnt even 1/4 far into the game . right when i was starting having fun it abruptly ended just like all masterpieces but ill always choose quality over quantity.
You forgot to mention that the more you wild out on mission the more known you become, thus making you easily detectable by guards (if you weren't wearing a disguise)
Having recently finished Blood Money on Switch as my first Hitman game, I am absolutely in love with this series now and can't wait to play more Hitman games!
Play the originals too! I highly recommend them even though they are very hard. Maybe don't play codename 47 unless you want to but Hitman 2 Silent Assassin and Hitman Contracts are both great! I think Silent Assassin is my favorite of the franchise
Hey man I just wanna say that this is a fantastic video, and I feel the same way about this game as you do. This game is definitely one of my top 3 favorites from my childhood and it still holds up well today. Hell, it may be my favorite. Keep up the content like this! Criminally underrated games like this deserve more attention.
Honestly, modern games tends to just being big for the sake of being big, as a way to justified higher tag price. Some game just as good with shorter run time but with highly detailed world, cut the repetitive design but increased the replayability through freedom of choices, and lower the price appropriately. That's all that needs to do which Blood Money perfectly delivers. Sad thing that everything need to be big these days something that some games just harmed by it.
I paid attention but thought I was dead at the end, as a child, I just cried out and screamed, don't you... No, he can't! Then destroying my PS2 joystick buttons in a rage and discovered that I had awakened from death.
I don't like the episodic format of Hitman games nowadays. Instead of one mission on a gigantic map they should be doing a number of missions with a wide variety of smaller sandbox maps like in the past. It's the variety of missions that keep the Hitman games fresh and fun.
Have you played the recent games? They have huge maps but they can be played quickly depending on your style. It's not too different from the previous games except the levels are more expansive. They haven't ruined the series or gameplay. Relax
Hitman blood money is the best game ever for the series. The newer hitman games look great to but still dont come close to this masterpiece. You dont even get two silver ballers in the newer Hitman games. I'll never get bored of playing blood money.
Ahhh, what a beautiful video. This captures exactly why I could never get into the newer games. Sure they're slicker, but they don't have the spirit, the danger, the jankiness, the darkness, the attitude and charm that this game takes in stride. The jingling coins and change into a bodyguard disguise skit killed me.
Blood money brings me so much anger sometimes when some random npc just decides to walk into the room as I'm dragging a body, I panic and change disguise infront of said npc, then proceed to try subdue him, miss click, punch him, guard in the next room gets suspicious, I change disguise again and run out the opposite room door 😂
I beat this game on xbox 360 and then pc and now I'm gonna beat it on my phone on the hardest difficulty, man I love blood money! Best video game io interactive has done 10/10 game imo
I've put hundreds hours into Hitman Blood Money since it launched and I can beat the entire game without firing a shot on the hardest difficulty, however, the new trilogy if it's treated like one game blows it out of the water. The guns feel better - it's more solid feeling emptying a magazine of bullets into something that isn't a blowup doll flying around after one magnum shot the stealth is more challenging - that little white dot on the heads of certain NPCs give a layer of complexity, without going over the top like Absolution did there are plenty of ways to take targets out in the newer games instead of a small handful knocking people out can be abused in the trilogy but as you get better at the game you rely on it less and less sniping has improved with the slow down feature for long range shots from absolution being able to drag a corpse and having the option to throw their bodies into the water is a luxury the later games have the addition of gadgets helped bring in newer players too and dogs aren't witnesses which ruined MANY playthroughs of blood money until i realized it in Washington for example is the new trilogy perfect? No. I feel running they ruined in the later games as you don't get spotted doing it like say hitman silent assassins, you can run up behind anyone with fiber wires or anything. I guess they favored speedrunners over realism. Without the new freelancer mode which some love, some hate the mode it's the only way you can customize weapons. I hate all the stupid escalation contracts as they only bloat the game up and the only thing I really liked they added, though VERY half baked was the elusive targets were pretty hit and miss. When bodies are spotted with no clothes they should be looking for others with a suit like in blood money too. I miss pistol whipping and taking hostages, apparently it got scrapped. I've played hitman 1 / 2 so much that I can suit only the entire game on master. Some levels without any load out and without firing a shot so even if you feel you mastered the game there's always going to be that next challenge. Both are great games, you'll play it them for hundreds of hours and still find little details you missed. Some people for example don't know you can climb on top of the building and snipe the hugh hefner guy in blood money. I didn't know you could find a DNA weapon to take out Francesca on the top floor (minus the attic) in Hitman 2016 or if you shoot the boat in the constants office near where the butler is that you can get a safe combination to open the safe upstairs.
Hitman: Blood Money was one of the few games I completed in my childhood, and I have no idea how many times I finished it on PS2. Now, I'm thinking of buying it on PC, PS3, and PS4. I know it's going to be a waste of money, but I don't care. I'd love to support the developers, the reason for buying three time is on ps3 I'll buy the trilogy to get contract+hitman 2+blood money and on ps4 I'll buy it with Hitman absoulation and I'll buy every hitman game on pc because they're dirt cheap there. I already completed Hitman WoA. Sorry for bad english
Try GOG they have Blood Money and Absolution with no DRM protection meaning you own the game forever and you are not linked to a platform that requires an internet connection to validate your ownership of the game or to activate it. It's pretty nice.
I got Silent Assassin on Every level on the PS2 on hard. Even the White House level. It was a mess of perfect timing and Pixel perfect movement. Hell you had to fire one bullet from either of your Silver ballers to get the other assassin dude with one shot to get that ranking.
i'd say that the first person mode is useful in more medium-close range gun combat, because you can focus on your targets and if you're good on fps games, be more precise. First Person mode also helps with aiming at long distances (sometimes, with the sniper rifle, not using the scope is better than using it because of the lack of shaking)
Blood Money is an excellent game, but I wish it had at least two more customizable weapons. I wish the game had more levels, because although the first playthrough is an incredible experience, there are some levels that are more frustrating than others, I personally always had problems with Opera and Mississippi. I always had the thought that Contract levels should be for Blood Money.
I wish they would make hitman games like silent assassin and contracts but with more modern elements. I liked how you had to actually plan and have a strategy on the older hitman games.
And! By the way! In the older hitman games (SA and Contracts) guards could see through your disguise if you acted suspicious or hung out next to them for too long! I just had to mention this because you said they fixed this issue in the world of assassination which is false. It used to be a feature long before that
The bi newspaper thingbhas annoyed me ever since this one. It was always rewarding to read an article that just said there was a whole bunch if unfortunate events.
It makes me so sad blood money didn't top HItman 2 silent assassin in sales it was such a good evolution of the series giving you more options and streamlining stealth and disguises at the same time. Hitman world of assassination brought alot of aspects back but also kind of simplified some of the improvisational aspects. Its like they give you 100 scripted options instead of a more free sandbox.
I basically loved all the missions just to overall play but my top favorites were Dance With The Devil (because of the party & cool heaven & hell masks) & The Hillbilly Wedding mission with Alligators (i loved dressing up like the priest & shooting the Grooms father over that open grave by pulling the silenced pistol out of my bible ) & the Playboy Bunny mountain hideaway level & i loved the Casino level & Suburbs level too ❤️
Bro killing the sheikh by calling from the casino from the hotel room has been the de-facto casual route since 2006, how the hell were you beating that level over the years if you just found out about that two years ago
This is my first Video from you I watched. I thought I know everything about Hitman Blood Money but i didn't know you can Die in the mission REQUIEM. I never see that Coven go down. My stupidity as a young Teenager was that I never realized I could Save in a Mission until I bought the Game again on Steam a few Years ago. I could have always played on the highest Difficulties but didn't realized it. I only had the balls for Expert because that was already very difficult.
I think there’s this misconception between gamers and games right now. There’s a ton of videos out there talking about, “how I can’t get immersed in games anymore” and your video got me thinking man. What if it’s not that deep lmao, I feel like we’re just yearning for solid games that we can achieve that nirvana like escapism the og bangers gave us. I just started playing The Evil Within again, and man. That sucker grabbed me and took hold for a 6 hour play session😂
Truly, if I have one complaint about the game, it's that it doesn't have more missions! I can tolerate its quirks such as wonky AI or ridiculous ragdolls
8:30 me right now, playing the mobile version of the mission A Dance With The Devil. Yes, I have the split screen on and watching whatever as I wait to kill the CIA operative as soon as he one day decides to get in the elevator. Spoiler alert, I still can't get the silent assassin 😂 fml, wtf am I supposed to do? Him in the elevator, the red-haired girl on a stage accident, the singing dumb girl as soon as she is alone in a room with me ( the laptop room ), and lastly the other hitman in his own torture room. Literally, no one else was harmed and I got no silent assassin, no cameras, no witnesses, not even a yellow alert.
While I did enjoy the recent trilogy, I hate the way they changed to tone of the game to be so.. James Bond. It completely makes sense that their next big title is a 007 game cuz thats what all 3 hitman games felt like. I don't want designer suits and secret tunnels, and gadgets and shit.. like wtf? Contracts and Blood Money did it the best. Dark seedy awful creeps and killers of all types being the targets. That's the way it should be for a Hitman, you don't travel the world like a super spy - you get contacted by mobsters and desperate people to take out other mobsters and desperate people. The hitman games are meant to be dark and sleazy.
That video was quite ok lot´s of these let´s call it "essay/rambling" channels are blowing up I believe you have what it takes to blow up you just need your YT recommendation moment.
Good video. I have to say you got some details wrong on the story, for example the rival Agency is called The Franchise which is trying to install one of their members into the white house to ban cloning to get a monopoly on selling it. Cayne is only former FBI, and as he narrates the game he embellishes the story to make 47 look more evil or less competent. For example saying in the Murder of Crows mission he was trying to assassinate the politician the Franchise was actually gunning. This just supports your point tho that the story isnt all that rememberable I do prefer the new games just marginally because theres so much more to do, but Blood Money is excellent because its not just a lesser sandbox. Each level always has at least three ways to do something, three entry points into an area, three disguises you can use. So it doesnt pale in comparison to the new games because its just as dense but with more manageable levels. A detail I just recently found is that in A Vintage Year you can climb a truck onto the roof and then drop down to find a smoking wine worker for an easy disguise. Its also a game that benefits from playing it as a sandbox. For example a kill you might like in A House of Cards is if you go to the blond guy’s room you can store a bomb in his briefcase then when he meets the sheikh you can use that to blow them both up
The levels of the new games are really big and that can be fun if I had like 10 or 11 targets like Berlin but for 1-2 targets the maps are way too big especially San fortuna. Way too much walking.
just finished this game played 2 and contracts when they came out and already finished new hitmans its a great game but fuck me i died so many times not knowing why the fuck im getting shot at or just barely missed a target and have to start over, good but very annoying and the limited ways to kill someone already unconscious was a huge oversight and the last credits level is the worst, pissed me off more than malenia
Honestly, speaking to the first part of your video, I don't think new games are so much worse.aybe they're just sometimes right outside our comfort zone. Great examples for me recently were Baldur's Gate 3, Frostpunk, a Plague Tale, Thaumaturge, Hades and Crusader Kings 3. Most of these I didn't think I would enjoy, but after a few hours in, I got this forgotten feeling of - as you said in the video - not being able to let go of the game :)
Hitman blood money for me wasn't fun. I don't know why but I really tried approching it with an open mind but ended up killing everyone in half of the maps. The map design range from avarage to fuck off. And I hate the ai turning around when youre sneaking behind them like what does that do other than annoy the player. And I don't get the hype around the newspaper and notoriety, if it ever gets too high I have wayy more money than i need to and make it pointless, the newspaper is fine but it doesnt add anything to the gameplay. 5/10 game it was bareable
Hitman blood money is like gta san Andreas. Amazing level design. But when you play a modern gta and go back that long ago. Everything feels god awful. The same with blood money. Hitman has refined the controls so much. I like either of the modern 2 better than blood money.
San Andreas is a great game. But when you take gta v and combine it with gta online. I still think it beats it. The same can be said of all the content in WOA

there are plenty of ways to take targets out in the newer games instead of a small handful
knocking people out can be abused in the trilogy but as you get better at the game you rely on it less and less
sniping has improved with the slow down feature for long range shots from absolution
being able to drag a corpse and having the option to throw their bodies into the water is a luxury the later games have

This is underrated. New supscribe here 👏
keep these coming .
There is actually a main musical theme for blood money by Jesper Kyd, it’s called Main Title and it’s epic.
I been revisiting Hitman Codename 47 last week with a laptop, after the proper fixing i got to say: excellent, just like day 1, evem smoother.
Hitman blood money is what got me into the series its a good game with a few flaws
I have a Dell Office Laptop from 2016 and I can play this on max settings. Don't know what you're referring to. It runs flawlessly.
No one seems to remember that depending on how the ai feels, you can just leave the area when you trespass and the guard won't shoot
It was always rewarding to read an article that just said there was a whole bunch if unfortunate events.
alec baldwin wishes he was agent 47
Best Hitman game to date any one remember Theauzziegamers walkthroughs of Blood Money pure comedic gold
I basically loved all the missions just to overall play but my top favorites were Dance With The Devil (because of the party & cool heaven & hell masks) & The Hillbilly Wedding mission with Alligators (i loved dressing up like the priest & shooting the Grooms father over that open grave by pulling the silenced pistol out of my bible ) & the Playboy Bunny mountain hideaway level & i loved the Casino level & Suburbs level too ❤️
Good old times
3:47 Reminds me of Pyrocynical's video on this game
6:44 I'm afraid this is how I'ma go out living in "Merica
Bro killing the sheikh by calling from the casino from the hotel room has been the de-facto casual route since 2006, how the hell were you beating that level over the years if you just found out about that two years ago
Thanks man. Nice Video.
12:28 agent 47 got too excited
listening to the blood money ost is like.. god damn
Wait till you see the platinum standard
This is my first Video from you I watched. I thought I know everything about Hitman Blood Money but i didn't know you can Die in the mission REQUIEM. I never see that Coven go down.
My stupidity as a young Teenager was that I never realized I could Save in a Mission until I bought the Game again on Steam a few Years ago. I could have always played on the highest Difficulties but didn't realized it. I only had the balls for Expert because that was already very difficult.
just bought it £2.50 for my 360
if only it had the atmosphere and soundtrack of contracts, and story of codename 47, it would be the perfect hitman game..
I beat this game on every difficulty I don't think I got silent assassin rank once
One of best games 🫡 nice video!
16:41 I will be very appreciated if you guys can tell me the name of the song ( the music is a few seconds back
The new hitman trilogy unfortunately didnt capture the same magic this game did. Probably one of the fee games that truly blew me away.
I'm still playing this shi. Great game
"crackah!"
that one dude
Can you rank all the game missions in a video
For the last mission how do u live through ut i was spamming the buttons and couldnt get back
You have to press the analogs in, it caught me out! Also be prepared for a massive shootout 😂
Is it a clip of the SH:1's intro music right in the beginning of the video? I swear, it must be it.
That video was quite ok lot´s of these let´s call it "essay/rambling" channels are blowing up I believe you have what it takes to blow up you just need your YT recommendation moment.
Thanks a lot!!!
Nah this is too good.
For one of those channels you need 100% stock footage, drawn out AI scripts and AI voice. 0 effort required.
This just supports your point tho that the story isnt all that rememberable
I do prefer the new games just marginally because theres so much more to do, but Blood Money is excellent because its not just a lesser sandbox. For example a kill you might like in A House of Cards is if you go to the blond guy’s room you can store a bomb in his briefcase then when he meets the sheikh you can use that to blow them both up
I know what you mean. That why I'm trying to make my own game.
Ever shoot the bottom of the jacuzzi?
How is TLOU pt.II mediocre?
agreed completely 🎉
The levels of the new games are really big and that can be fun if I had like 10 or 11 targets like Berlin but for 1-2 targets the maps are way too big especially San fortuna. Way too much walking.
Cyberpunk 2077 is very different....
You can zoom in on the newspaper!?
New trilogy lacks main ingredient - jesper kyd soundtrack
Hitman 2016 Aint a Reboot
It's a different part of the story set during and before the end of Codemane 47.
just finished this game
played 2 and contracts when they came out and already finished new hitmans
its a great game but fuck me i died so many times not knowing why the fuck im getting shot at or just barely missed a target and have to start over, good but very annoying
and the limited ways to kill someone already unconscious was a huge oversight
and the last credits level is the worst, pissed me off more than malenia
Went and just replayed Blood Money and the NPC intelligence has not aged well 😂 I can complete almost every level in 5 min on pro
Greatest game of all time, truly genius
I used the binocular to see the "i 💋 a girl and i liked it..." Wich can be found on the Hell floor
I was a horndog middle schoolers back then..
W video
It was an amazing game due to level design before you took for granted that games could control so much better.
San Andreas is a great game. But when you take gta v and combine it with gta online. I still think it beats it. The same can be said of all the content in WOA
Triple A games. You keep thinking games is triple a games exclusively.
Play some indie games, they're alright.
