- This is a guide on how to replace a broken screen on a HP ENVY m6 1125dx laptop
I got the screen from LaptopScreen.com for more screen replacement videos view www.laptopscreen.com/English/l...
Tools needed:
1. Some type of card (I used an old gift card)
2. Precision Screwdriver (philips)
3. Replacement screen
Steps:
1. Remove power cord and battery. Check model number and purchase new screen from LaptopScreen.com
2. Use the card to pry bezel off of the screen. This laptop model uses both clips and double sided tape. Careful of the webcam.
3.Unscrew the 4 screws holding in the screen. No need to remove hinge.
4. fold screen onto keyboard and remove LCD cable
5. reverse process to install new screen.
You've just saved me the $420 extra I would have been charged by Future Shop had I not just ordered a replacement screen and done it myself. I would have been charged $508 after tax for them to do everything. Also, apparently they charge $100 an HOUR to do a screen replacement? This took literally five minutes to show the entire process, and it's extremely straight-forward. Thank you SO much for this! You have no idea how much I appreciate it.

Excellent video just replaced a screen for a co-workers son who is in college. Just save him tons of money he can have for books. Video was great. As always just be very careful and take your time with the metal connectors on laptops they can be very easy to break.

Thanks for the video. Overall it was excellent, I was able to replace the display in approximately 30 minutes with my less than nimble 67 year old hands. The only problem I had was with the connector. Old eyes can be a challenge also on something that small also. Best Buy want me to do all the work and then hand them $140 for labor. rip-off artists at bestbuy wanted $350 to replace the screen I did it for $65 took 2 days to ship and another 10 min replace thanks to this video

i had bought a used envy m6 , but instead of returning i planned to upgrade/resell , later as i was inspecting closer noticed , had broken hinges 😑 i assume hinge nuts were too tight to begin with upon manufacturing.. after carefully disassemble , hinge screw anchors inside base bottom were broken , i tried bond cement did not work .. so i am ordering base bottom , upon disassemble to access hinges , i chipped/broke screen bezel , and currently looking into purchase another bezel seems like i bit off more than i could chew , but im up for the challenge .. i also had to replace battery/cord .. i hav invested already , so i want to finish ...this project .. 😏

okay i have the same laptop, my screen is fine but i need to replace the back cover. it cracked and the lid basically doesn't close properly. how do i take the whole top half off?
