Sorry to be so off topic but does someone know a way to log back into an Instagram account..? I was stupid lost the login password. I love any tips you can offer me.
kirk please come to morocco, you do have thousands of fans here. your playing is unique and sincere coming from the roots. by the way, bring jd simo with you we like him too down here. greetings from morocco
Whats old is new again! I totally hear the T-Bone influence (and thanks for the recent Gtr World column on him) Man i dig it!! Time to pick up my guitar and learn something new!
I got to study sound under the late Malcolm Chisolm in the early 80's. He was the master engineer at Chess. I was the only one in our class who was a blues enthusiast, so we had some great conversations. He had some great stories, especially Little Walter ones.
Thank you Kirk! Sharing your joy and knowledge of music like this is amazing. I'm very grateful. I smile every time I hear you play or talk about the music that influenced you. You inspire me.
Thank you so much Kirk. You are an inspiration for all the musicians who are somehow related to the blues. I always learn a lot from you. All the best, cheers
Great, great episode. So glad you talked about the pre-bending and vibrato, blues era. Jimmie Vaughan sounds like he listened to that era B.B. King on the first T-Birds album. You are the man! Thank you for doing these!
Thanks for sharing all you have learned from your years studying and playing the blues. It has provided me with a new perspective and approach when I grab my guitar. I really appreciate it.
Kirk, you just summed-up exactly what it's about, for me,also. I saw you in Australia, '03, and man,I couldn't believe how many styles you got, playing just a strat. Love what you do, and thanks for your videos, mate 👍
There was a time when guitar strings were so stiff you couldn't bend them even if you wanted to haha! Beautiful lesson Kirk Just amazing to hear the depth of your knowledge and understanding.
THANK YOU so much for these regular videos! Your knowledge, passion, enthusiasm and of course your great musicality and skills make them such a pleasure to watch. Cheers from Belgium.
Love your playing and videos Kirk! You've hit on something I've never thought of, but so relevant: playing without the string bends and vibrato. I love and listen to a fair amount of OLD recordings, and I pick stuff up from them - but I am so in the habit of using bends and vibrato that it works its way into my music. You've demonstrated a much more authentic way for us to play the blues, at least some of the time. Thanks Kirk.
Love your videos Kirk. Watch you everyday bro. Im just learning to play me some blues. To play period...lol Man wish I could get private lessons from you or a guy like you. Mellow laid back. Keep it coming ...
Love your playing Kirk and was so disappointed I missed your gigs when you were in Melbourne earlier this year. I hope when isolation ends you get back down to Australia soon. You’re a real inspiration!
That's awesome Kirk! I always enjoy your videos and watching you play as well as your stories. Great stuff man. Keep it coming. And Thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you Master ! I think you may be the only professionnal guitarist i follow which i would love to Jam with ! You seems to be such a nice and humble man that you May be one of the few that don't intimidate amateurs like me but encourage them ! Would love to see you when you come in my country ! Once again Thank you !
Thanks, Kirk. Stay enthusiastic. I try to pick up tips from players from the 20s through the 60s too. You can’t mimic them all the time, but it sure gives you fresh angles (to me) to work with for solos and rhythm work. I’m a big fan of Lonnie Johnson, T-Bone Walker and B. B. King. I look forward to hearing and seeing your next post.
Man I’m glad I found your channel. Great vid and a real cool dano. I love the blues and I can tell you have a great passion for them too. Will be watchin more! ✌🏻
U touched on several good points. Different styles of blues. Also good to be reminded that while most musicians don't like being put in a box, creating within limitations can really open you up to expand on some details of a particular blues style
You know many of us will listen to your playing and are inspired to play / copy. It would be so nice if you always leave info / link to the backing tracks you're using. Thanks Kirk
Tell Me Baby by Muddy Waters is something that I’ve really found interesting recently. He’s covering Big Bill Broonzy songs on this specific record and it is just soooo good
Love your videos and your blues guitar playing. Would love to see you sometime in the future live in concert. Did you say that you live in Switzerland?
I love you man! Your thoughts, philosophy, regard towards history and then applying those styles in your own playing is inspiring for every guitarist who cares to learn and get better! I want to hang with you brother!
Kirk I’m really enjoying your postings thank you so so much. I’d love it if you could teach us how to play Hold On.....that would be really fantastic. Take care and stay safe.
Thanks for sharing. I came here just because of UA-cam suggestion. Great finding... May I ask you, what do you mean by A position in country blues? I like it... Country blues, Delta blues... Old style blues, kind of simple, but not so simple... You know...
Really enjoying the vids! Discovered you back in your T-Bird days, along with Nick Curran. You two had a great dynamic that was refreshing to hear, rather than trying to copy the great Jimmie Vaughan. I was wondering if you wouldn’t mind talking about that dynamic and the trading off of guitar duties you two had back then, and maybe any thoughts or insight you might remember about Nick? He became one of my favorites, his records mean a lot to me and I’ve always been fascinated with how you and Nick played off of each other. That period of the T-Birds and the Painted On record is so underrated! Thanks again, and I really appreciate your playing!
I loved him like my brother and miss him so much. Nick was incredible and gave me the inspiration to start singing and fronting my own band. Guitars duties were easy I find out what he wanted to play and I play something to compliment his part ❤️
We must play the blues together! Carsten from Germany
I love your playing Kirk. You have such enthusiasm and a sense of humor and a kind heart. Thank you
My favorite clean player of all time...so pure...

Currently reading a biography of Earl Hooker. It's called Earl Hooker - Blues Master by Sebastian Danchin. He certainly is the character!
