How good is the communication with the base? I have seen amazon reviews claiming the base needs to be near the cameras and plugged into the router with the ethernet cable. I have seen reviews claiming the base could be a bit further from cameras but still plugged into router. I have not seen any reviews where the base is near the cameras but wireless to the router. Some reading material suggests that the base connected wirelessly to the router can work at lower resolutions. Did you test any of this?
I placed the base next to the router and connected it via ethernet. I didn't test it with wifi. Cameras are decently far (15 ft and 50 ft) from the base and still work fine.
