Just watched your WUUK pro2 video and ordered the camera kit. Can you elaborate on the base station set up with respect to ethernet cable to set up then disconnecting it from router. Why would you do this. I’m on sketchy satellite and not sure of my wifi quality with this setup as we’re off grid
When I reviewed it, the ethernet connection was the only option as WiFi on the base station had not been enabled in the firmware on the base station. It's generally a good idea to use the ethernet connection to set up when you can as it eliminates connectivity problems that you might get with WiFi. Now that you can use WiFi or ethernet you can choose whichever is easiest for you.
We bought 2 - WUUK Camera kits for a total of 4 Cameras. These are very good and seem to miss nothing. We have them set for Human detection and you can adjust sensitivity and filter out areas you don't want a recording to start. Our only complaint is the fact there doesn't seem to be a sleep mode. We work outside a lot and the Camera's record us working while wearing down the battery.
I must admit I've not seen a sleep mode on other cameras more that you can manually disable them which I guess is the same thing. What about disabling your motion detection whilst you're working in front of them? That's what I did previously with my Eufy cameras.
I tried the Eufy 2 Pro camaras and they only detected motion half the time. Was very disappointed so returning them. Trying to find camaras that are more consistent with detection. Did you find these Wuuk camaras to be consistent? Have you had detection issues with Eufy?
I've not noticed that with Eufy and certainly not with WUUK, if anything they are a bit more sensitive than Eufy and I've had to turn things down a bit and reduce the notifications 🙂
Great review, very helpful. Started to look for the purchase but all sold out. Any idea, when/where they will be available again...to be shipped/bought in EU.
Thank you for the detailed review. I bought them and started using from December, so far pretty happy. Two moths into using, no need to charge batteries yet. The data space is limited, but so easy to delete the videos you don’t need to clear out space. But I do have questions if you please kindly reply. Most of the time the warning notifications come really fast, like I just opened the front door, my iWatch is showing front door motion notices, but occasionally the notice is really delayed, like after I get into the car drive out etc then get a notice, why? Is it the wifi of the house/ internet provider delay? Also, a very strange thing is in the pass three days, it failed to notify me about the mailman! Is it because he wears very bright yellow uniform that the camera thinks it is not human? As my notifications is the smart setting. Thank you if you can help me.
Thanks for the feedback, everyone's setup is different and notifications are always a problem I've found having tested lots of different cameras but more often than not with intermittent notifications I find it's either WiFi or mobile data that's the problem. If you're getting no notifications at all and they're turned on in the app then it's usually a phone setting. As for detection, I had a similar issue but I cleaned the front of the camera and have the following settings: Detection sensitivity is 5 Detection type is Smart Alert Motion notification is on Human notification is on Also, make sure you've done all firmware updates on the hub and cameras, the little red dot in the app indicates what needs updating.
Thanks for this. I will buy it definitely. Not being able to wipe off footage when reset is huge. The 2 sec delay is a bit concerning tho, hopefully it can be fixed. Are the batteries rechargeable?
Indeed, if the locally stored videos are not eliminated when pushing the reset button on the camera and/or when the camera is removed by the intruder, this camera will be massive competition to Eufy. I would choose this camera instantly. However there is no window/door protection device nor exterior sirene in the proposed system and that still is a serious drawback. It should not be very difficult to add this components to the system. Apparently the base station needs to be connected by wire with the internet box. I wonder whether this connection can be replaced by an extra electrical socket close to the base station with a powerline adapter such as devolo (to bring internet close to the base station by the electrical wires), where the base station is wired directly and only to the devolo. Maximum distance between base station and cameras isn't clear either.
Wifi connectivity for the base station is coming in a firmware update and I'm sure they could do something with the software for a siren as they already have the dismount alarm. As for window/door protection, well hopefully this is just the start of them adding more products to their range. Thanks for watching and feeding back on the video, appreciate it 👍
I'm seriously considering buying this product. If I do, I will be glad to test the connection via powerline adaptor as I already have TP-Link adaptors for my computer.
Hi I've just ordered the eufy 2c today after watching a few positive reviews lol now I think they will have to go back before I've received them ffs lol so you prefer using there's cameras have you changed your setup from eufy to the wuuk setup ? And if so are the notifications quick on the wuuk? Thanks very informative videos
I've swapped to the WUUK cameras, which are working flawlessly, from my Eufy ones but still using the Eufy doorbell. Hopefully @WUUKLabs will send me out their new Pro doorbell for review so I can compare with Eufy. As for notifications, they're super quick and they've just updated them to include images now so they're certainly sticking by all the things they mentioned to me prior to reviewing them.
@@Byteofgeek hi thanks for your reply so would you recommend I send the eufy ones back?the notification speed is important to me so would you say the wuuk are quicker or on par with each other? and is the range of the wuuk hub as good as the eufy as in terms of range? Thanks I appreciate your reply I also put a link of your video for people to see on hot UK deals app I'm not sure if you know it
Oh the link I was talking about was the security flaw in the eufy as to just press the reset button and all footage is gone I seriously can't get my head around that who would think that was a good idea 🙄
Indeed I did, fitted them today, I’m not very good with computer stuff being an old boy but I did it without any problems, they are very clear pictures, watching your presentation gave me a bit of confidence me thinks.
I don't recall an option in the app, most battery cameras don't offer that for obvious reasons - powered cameras are almost always the better option for 24/7 recording.
My experience so far is that their image recognition software is pure garbage. They don't pick up human more than 50% of the time. I am also having issue with battery life.. it lasts barely two days.. and it doesn't charge!.. the app stalls and need to reboot/reinstall/restart frequently to get it to work again. Only thing I like about this product is that the image quality is decent. Other than that it's been pretty daunting.. including any support you may get (took 3 days for response and now waiting for them to troubleshoot why I can't charge my unit)
Try setting motion detection to smart or all alerts rather than human and see if that makes any difference. Battery consumption seems really excessive, mine haven't been charged for 3 months so far and still have 40% battery left so have you got them pointing at a high traffic area? If so then this will always be a challenge for battery cameras and wired or solar may be a better solution for you. You don't say what device you're running the app on but I've found it flawless. Is it freezing when doing something specific? As for support, I've had no reason to contact them as the system works fine so I can't comment on that.
@@Byteofgeek had it for 3 days and had to reinstall app 3 times already on s22ultra, pixel 6 and s21. It either doesn't receive notification on one of the phone, recording replay freezes or doesn't show one of the camera after recharging. Sometimes log out and log in fixes issue sometimes reinstallation is required. I did change it to all movement recording and I realized how bad image recognition software is for this app. Only about 3/10 it recognizes human and rest is classified as "motion_. Problem with record all motion setting is that even at lowest setting, any car driving by at night or morning will trigger it due to moving shadows even with limited area setting. Even when it records, it has 3-10 second delay every other time so most of recording is empty blank clips. Battery is at 40% after first day from 100%. I'm leaning towards returning it and get either wires or nest as they do much better job at recognizing human and cost only slightly more
If your battery is that low after one day then that sounds like a hardware fault and should be a straight replacement. I've never tested any camera (blink, Eufy, arlo, iegeek etc) that has drained it's battery that quick even with all settings turned on to max

Excellent review-i will purchase the WUUK Camera
Good choice!
Few minutes into this video and it looks like you've adopted new banners to highlight features. Much easier to see on mobile!
Yes had a bit of a play around, I think this works well and will probably be the format going forward now 👍

Use the disable motion settings on your phone to temporarily stop taking videos of you working outside the house
Why not just leave it recording? What if something happens while your outside and you turned off the cameras... I'll just leave mine alone

2 seconds isn't too bad, there are worse than that on the market and most are around 1 second anyway. And yes the batteries are rechargeable

Is there a work around to have 24/7 recording with the wireless cameras?
I don't recall an option in the app, most battery cameras don't offer that for obvious reasons - powered cameras are almost always the better option for 24/7 recording.
Can you see what is going on with the camera even if you are abroad.
Don't see any reason why not, it works when you're not connected to the same WiFi
Good informative video, thank you.
Glad it was helpful!
What about if I have a power lost, n no internet, will it still work, or I'll lost connection?
It records to the base station so if you've got no power then there's no way for it to access either your WiFi or the base station
Is there a reset footage deletion issues as eufy has???
This is specifically tested in the video 👍
HELP! Purchased 2 x add-on cameras but they won't charge by any method.
Never experienced a problem charging the cameras, are you able to return them?
@@Byteofgeek Yes I was able to return them. Fortunately, it was the add-on cameras so not too much hassle. The complete system had no probs at all.
Thank you
is there an intercom where i can tell the dog to shut up if barking 😂
