I think they should go back to having every team open their season on Sunday, with the Super Bowl champions and another good team play either Sunday night or on Monday Night Football
I remember watching that Patriots-Dolphins opener, that was a great game. Bledsoe was working on a game ending drive to win, completed a pass to Ben Coates, but Coates fumbled, and the Dolphins recovered and won 39-35. The next week the Pats were in another high scoring game that was a lot of fun, lost 38-35 against the Bills.

I know the HOF voters have a bias towards SB winners, but that's known full well for some voters to be a requirement for defensive players specifically (something that's also stupid). Some of the rushers directly around him could be pointed at title winners and the engine of those teams. Ignore the fact that Eddie was the engine just as much as any back was as shown by this video here. I think backs around that range may get their due as prolific rushers become harder to find in the modern era. Eventually that top 25 selection for finalists will become a push comes to shove scenario and force their hand for some of our favorite backs.
