Love the shape, it looks like an alien space ship. The tape and air brushing adds to the feeling of something out of this world. You have a great imagination, and sand paper can erase anything that YOU don’t like! Keep the projects turning!
Just subscribed, liked your video. I though t the paint and tape marks took away from the bowl. But I haven't gotten into trying that myself. I thought the bowl and grain very nice, thanks for sharing.
Peggy, Great Job. I like the Bowl but not crazy about the tape. Like someone else said maybe pin stripping tape would work better, you can easily use it in about any motion. But Great Job!! Thumbs Up!!
I can't like or dislike the video. I'm torn. I really don't like the tape and dye. However, I think it's due to the wood choice. The shape is beautiful, and the wood is crazy. Maybe a light dye to the rim to enhance the design. I'd like to see you try the stencils on a boring piece of wood though. Stewart Fruini (sure I spelled that wrong), does some crazy stenciling and painting, but that is his highlight, not the gorgeous wood.
This is one of those blind date descriptions: "she's got a great sense of humor and lovely personality" moments. This bowl's grain is very nice and the shape is cool. But the design...weeeell, let's just say "it's got a lovely personality".
Personally, I find the quilt too beautiful to hide. A simple dark color rim edge or two would have set off the maple figure, while adding a nice touch to the round and brown. The random pattern and the harsh edges of the tape voids don’t do it for me. But fun to see you trying new things and figuring out what you like or do not like.
Love the shape of the bowl, and could go with staining the wood too, as a way of enhancing the grain and figure. But the tape was a no no for me the hard lines are too much of a contrast to the ripple in the wood. But this is only my opinion and others may love it.
W e e l l l l! The bowl shape is great, and the wood grain is beautiful. I love your finesse and grace. The blue and gold were complimentary. Can't wait to see your next project.
I love the shape of the bowl. The natural wood took on a great shine. I even like the blue and gold tones, but the hard edges from the tape didn't trip my trigger. It's a good experiment.
I have to come down on the side of no tape. The initial coat of blue let the beautiful grain show through, and you could have faded the gold in from the rim 1/2" or so. The second coat of blue hid most of the grain and I find the tape marks just distracting. Otherwise, I like the shape of the bowl and will probably try that on one of my future bowls.
Great bowl shape and color but I find the tape pattern distracting because the pattern isn't uniform. I think if it were uniform the effect would be more pleasing, at least to my eyes. However, big kudos to you for trying it!
P.F.woodturning I see your name is Peggy so I hope you don't mind me calling you that from now on. Have to say I loved the shape of the bowl also the grain and markings were beautiful but when you put the tape and started painting it well you just complemented it even more. The tape was a great idea totally surprised I can't wait to try this idea myself. Thanks for yet another fantastic treat I look forward to seeing what's next.
Meh - I could definitely do without the tape. I could even do without the color and something that would make the grain stand out more instead. But that's just me. Thumbs up on the video anyway.
Beautiful.
Thank you!
Very nice piece.
David Harvey Thanks!
I love it!
Thanks!
Always like and enjoy your videos
Thanks, Joe. Much appreciated!
I like it as it is. Sometimes you just have to think out of the box. Awesome job Peggy. Peace out my friend.👍✌💜
Thanks!

Kinda reminds me of Eddie VanHalen’s red guitar with white and black lines.
Ha! Me too---as I was making it, I thought the same thing! Thanks for watching!

Garry Moores thank you.
Looks good Peggy. I like the shape of the rim. You have a good eye for colors, shapes and patterns - regular or irregular.
Thank you!

Good evening Peggy, I liked the shape of the bowl, very attractive. I liked the color combination. However, I am not a fan of the tape.
Thanks, David.
You're welcome Peggy.
You really are an artist and take woodturning to a different level. Great job
Thank you, Kim! Much appreciated.

Another awesome piece Peggy. At first I didn't think the tape was a good idea, but when finished WOW HI FIVE.
Thanks!
I'm giving the tape a thumbs up 👍
I like the sharp contrast. Nice shape bowl too.
Thank you!!!
Nice design and the maple is gorgeous!
Thanks, Carol!
Nice bowl Peggy, I like it,Killer shape, beautiful grain!! Without experimentation we never move forward!
Very true! Thanks!
Awesome Bowl, Peggy!!! Love the ideas you come up with, not your traditional turning. Looking forward to more of your turnings!!
Thanks, Annette!

Very nice piece Peggy. I couldn't find that crackle paint, so on the shopping list that goes.
Thank you. Good luck--keep trying to find it...you'll have fun!
With my limited experience, especially with the grain and shape of the bowl, I would not have added the paint or stripes to the project.
Yes, the grain is quite beautiful!
What kind of airbrush paint did you use? I just ordered some color changing paint for the airbrush I am dying to try...
I can't recall the brand--nothing fancy though, purchased at my local art store.

I think pinstriping tape would work great,
Thank you!
