    Another great video. It really is unusual setup :)
    This september I was working in Netherlands for 2 weeks; collecting pears in orchard. Country itself is very beautiful, not to mention old, nice looking and still working windmills! For me, from Poland, where there are only few left and most of them are wooden and ruined, it was very surprising.
    Also, comparing our farming equipment to yours... It's just another world :O

    Anyone else notice that we now accept as normal that the GPS is guiding the tractor and harvestor?
    How many years before the machines do the job all by themselves?
    Will it be the harvesting machine or the shuttle tractor that goes to self drive first?

    • @Dimaz42
      @Dimaz42 5 років тому

      I wonder about that too.. perhaps because the attached harvester leans to the right-side, so the driver was facing backward to make sure that it's on the right path..

    • @Mike-qv3pz
      @Mike-qv3pz 5 років тому +11

      @@Dimaz42 he doesn't need to look if it's on the right pad, they have a gps system for that. Since there isn't a lot to be looking forward, it's more convenient to turn the cab backwards so you don't have to twist your back to be able to observe the harvester.

    • @jackorr6082

      There is a larger volume of crop going through them

    • @Dimaz42
      @Dimaz42 5 років тому

      Thank you for the answers! so, if we double the length of the header, then we need to double the storage capacity of the harvester, which isn't practical..

    • @Mike-qv3pz
      @Mike-qv3pz 5 років тому +1

      @@Dimaz42 It's not all about the storage capacity. If they wanna make the header off a potato harvester wider then the belts in the machine to remove the ground and stuff should be a lot wider aswell. So then they will have to make the machines wider aswell and since the self propelled harvesters are allready 3metres it isn't practical to make it wider for the Europe market + won't be allowed in some countries to be on the road. So untill the belts will be improved i don't see any self propelled potato harvester in europe with more then 4 rows.
