Another interesting fact about the Eldridge houses on the bluff is they all used to have full backyards. My mom grew up in Bellingham and remembered them in the 1950s. They lost them slowly to vibrations from the trains below.
Thanks, Chris! But could you please find scene transitions that are a bit easier on the eyes? I found the bright flashes distracted from the enjoyment of the tour. Oh, and I sent it to a friend who is an /əˈpiskəpəl/ priest for a pronunciation update. The elm tree along with the two other giants close by on Eldridge are my favorites. The elm reminds me of my New England roots.
Thanks for watching Chas! I have sincerely taken your feedback to heart and will work on making things smoother going forward! Glad to hear you liked the tree info, next video will be about the parks and trails of Columbia!
Funny.. you also keep showing a house on Eldridge that was the site of my ex- husbands family home. 1717 Eldridge.. it’s fairly new? The original house was move and now is located across from Columbia school!
Great call out Wendy! We wanted to give viewers a feel for the neighborhood and weren’t selective with the footage to exclude homes that were near the ones we were covering. So cool that they were able to save the original house. It’s always heartbreaking when history gets destroyed.
Solid video! Really cool to see some of the history behind Bellingham’s homes/neighborhoods 👍🏻
Nice job, Chris! Love your historical data and the actual tour. Well done!
Melene, COMPASS Whidbey Island!
The Bolster house looks the best!

That is the Carr mansion behind you
I grew up in Bellingham from 1945 to 1964
Enjoyed the video but I've never heard "Episcopal" produced that way. It's pronounced "a-pis-ca-pl".
Thanks Caroline!
Sorry , I see this as Eldridge ave area.. not Columbia? Oh funny you just said Eldridge 🤣🤣🤣, I was born here🥰
The Eldridge Historical District is part of the Columbia neighborhood 😜

Old families with old money. Men. Get to know their daughters. Goldigging is a two way shovel
Seriously? Please learn to pronounce Episcopal correctly!!
