just bought the touring in black and in love with it. didn't listen to anyone else's opinions. just went with my gut/heart...best car i've ever owned. yes, it has a big grill, but i think it looks bad ass.
As always a very good non pretentious review. Thanks for providing such good reviews. Personally I am a big fan of Toyota and Lexus for consistently providing solid, reliable vehicles that are affordable to keep over the long-term and have strong resale value based on those attributes. Regarding the styling, I like certain elements the headlights and the rear end styling. I am not a fan of the enormous grille, seems like the new 2019 Camaro also went that route. I think the previous gen large grille was nicer even though many complained about that grille as well, seems like Toyota doubled down on the grille design on this current platform.
301 horse power from naturally aspirated engine. No turbo. Learn from toyota Ford. Their obsession with making tiny 4 cylinder engines with turbo charger and corner cutting.
im actually liking the front end on this more then the Camry. Its a nice car to be honest im not a Toyota person so this is not a car I will ever buy but I can absolutely see why people buy it.Reminds of a Lexus a little and Lexus is a brand I do like and would buy.
TuLokotron2010 I think everybody knows that. its like a Nissan / infiniti or Honda/ Acura kind of thing.lol.Chrysler/Dodge...does Audi VW and Lambo still work together?
You couldn't tell much difference in the ride between the Touring and Limited. I've said all along I believe these adaptive and adjustable suspensions are mostly smoke and mirrors. But, overall the Avalon is a very nice touring sedan regardless of the trim, making cross country trips very enjoyable.
this generation of the avalon his sooooooo freaking sexy that thing looks great super close to lexus in the looks i think its the best looking car in its category and this generation of the camry looks great also but the avalon theirs nothing out there that looks like it
This car continues to grow on me. This red and the white are the best colors in my opinion. Unfortunately, I have a 2015 so I won’t need a new car until 2026 or later.
"The most dynamic Avalon yet"...Well, yes, if you are searching for dynamism from your Avalon. I still think the Avalon is the best Japanese interpretation of the Crown Victoria.
@ matt maran should i replace the brz with the avalon?? the features are what i really need specially with the apple carplay and the cargo space... or should i wait for the new rav 4?
That things sounds damn good when ripping on it. One thing the turbo engine can’t touch is sound. Once you get past the grill the rest of this car is really good. Fits well for Toyota’s flagship car.
Jordan Catcher yes I really love it. I admit I love the F sport model a lot more then the non F sport. They also pulled the seats and steering wheel right out the LS500 and seats designs from the LC500.
Toyota4Life. I love it. It looks like a baby ls which is a great car. I agree about love the f sport more than the non f sport especially in that blue. It just appeal s more to my taste. The tailights of the car is really what makes it stand out IMO. In fact there probably the best tailights I've seen from lexus of course next to the lc. Very proud of them 👍👍👍👍.
Jordan Catcher I agree. I think I also love the rear end more then the front end. It makes me think what a full on High performance F model would be like. But with the car being FWD that make be difficult to do
How is the torque steer during rain. Reason I hate fwd is no grip at all when it wet out since I live in FL and it rains everyday. Ive been trying to find an awd car in this segment and so far no luck. I am still considering this car only if the torque steer is very minimal.
Matt, why does the redesigned 2019 Toyota Avalon not have the power rear window sunshade like the 2018 model year Toyota Avalon? Please let me know as soon as possible because other vehicles competing with the Toyota Avalon like the Nissan Maxima, Kia Cadenza, Buick LaCrosse, Chrysler 300, and Ford Taurus and most Lexus sedans have the power rear window sunshade.
Daaammnnn, that grill looks like my fly swatting stick. Hahahahaha! Sick ride though if you ask me, it looks real comfortable/family inviting. I drive a 17 Camry and after 1.5 years of driving it I am just wanting more space/ power.
Just bought the Touring about a month ago. It's a really nice car to drive, but has some faults that need to be addressed, and fixed. * Let's start with the transmission. There's often a lag during gear changes. My 12 year old Honda had a smoother changing transmission. You really have to press down on the gas pedal, more so than on other cars, to get the car to accelerate well from a stop position. * Cheap bendable plastic on the doors. * If you want to use your phone to start your car from your house/apt in winter, and you don't have an iPhone, forget it. Toyota still hasn't included Android support. * The user interface for the GPS system is horrible. I ended up having to enable the live help system to ask a rep to remotely enter the required address into the GPS. * The HD JBL audio system is nice... but what's the point of "high definition" when it only plays mp3's. I almost didn't buy the car because it didn't have a CD player. * If you want Sirius radio in the car, you have to subscribe to the premium Sirius package with all the bells and whistles ($20+ per month). The cheaper audio only packages don't include car radio. * 19 inch wheels allow you to feel every little bump. * Noisy in Sports Mode. * Seat adjustment could be better. * No locking glove compartment. If you accelerate fast, the glove compartment door will fly open, and its contents will spill on the floor. The above is my bucket list of things Toyota should address. I didn't point out the pro's, because they've all been shown in the various online reviews. Visually, the elephant in the room is the front grille. Yes, it's big, but surprisingly, you get used to it quickly. It bothered me at first, but now, I like it.
@@ResplendentRaider Even with it's faults, it was still better than most of the competition in that price range. Apparently, most new cars all have the same cheap plastic moldings in the doors. Transmission problems still exist, but you get used to them. Only thing I'm still pissed off about is the inability to install an in dash CD player, but they seem to have been phased out in all modern cars.
I drive an 03 Avalon, which back then was based on the Lexus GS platform - much bigger and roomier than the 03 Camry when you compare the two. This new Avalon is far too similar to the current Camry when it comes to size/appearance/interior. Toyota made a huge mistake taking Avalon off the GS platform. You also don't put 300+HP on a front wheel drive vehicle. Keep the 4 cylinder FWD stuff for the Camry please - V6 hybrid with RWD is what a big heavy car like the Avalon should be IMO.
Another excellent review by Matt! From what we see in Minnesota, with gasoline prices at only $3.69 a gallon; folks want large pick up trucks. Preferably these must be raised, with modified exhausts that will increase sound levels, and more! It isn't cool to drive one of these passenger cars anymore. This is sad because we think that this is a nice vehicle. Until gasoline prices hit about $10.00 or more a gallon, Minnesota folks will drive these raised pick up trucks!
No CD players? man what are car technologist thinking. CD players are still very unusable. Add an internal hard disk drive to the cars radio system and with a disc player you would be able to rip the CD to the car, and have a jukebox. Audi does this.
What happens when these new toyotas, that seem to have Just a grill up front, no real bumber, what happens when they bump Anything? id imagine, lots of serious expensive damage
I'm not sure what their target audience is for this. Seems like the older folk who typically go for these cars will be turned off by the blingy grill and juvenile fender vents, functional or not. Not to mention a dash that has no style to it other than a giant rectangular screen tacked into the middle. I miss non touch screen interiors.

What deal did you get? How much are you paying per month? Paid msrp?
That grill is bigger than my future
‘Ty _’: you are kidding, right?
Ty _, HATER!
Liger King who said I hated it?
Lol
Yeah that car has a Yuck-mouth Grille. !!
Toyota did an Amazing job with that V6 engine.
grill is too small. I was expecting more, Toyota!
Alligator Jack was thinking the same. It needs a tundra grill
Honestly I think they should have a limo length grill makes the average Toyota look good
I've seen this car out there and it is really very impressive. Good job as always Matt!
I'm falling in love with hideous facelifted 86's front bumper after seeing this thing...
iHeart GT86 {KatyCat} 😂🤣🤣🤣
The 86 is not hideous. But this really is lol.
Raafid Vlogs IMO this car actually has good proportioned body (kinda looks like a Lexus) but that BIG DAMN ASS WHALE MOUTH in the front ruined it...
iHeart GT86 {KatyCat} lol yeah 😂😂
This car is not ugly. The rest of the car looks really good it's just the grill is love or hate. But the rest of the car is actually sleek looking.
Toyota pulling out all the stops. I'd totally buy this.
This car has aged very well. Looking to upgrade from my 2014 Avalon with the XSP package.

Well said.
Me and wife just bought Toyota Camry XSE 2015. Not the latest one but we are very much happy with Toyota! Runs very good
I love my 2006 Avalon. It’s a great car
Breaking rc I have an 06 too.
Lol they should just make the whole car a grill
Jawn Chan, HATER!
Great review Matt! Nice car - seems like it does it all for a family sedan.
Such an amazing review man! You deserve way more views!
NY taxi drivers are going to be even more reckless, when they get their hands on this car. 😂😂😂
Mr skyserious lmfaoooo 😂😂

Only people from ny will understand 😂
😂😂😂👏👏
I luv NY.
301 horse power from naturally aspirated engine. No turbo. Learn from toyota Ford. Their obsession with making tiny 4 cylinder engines with turbo charger and corner cutting.
2.0T Accord is still faster despite producing only 252hp (but 6ft/lb more of torque).
What a great job to have Toyota fly you out and test drive their new cars, you're blessed! Love the car and review, keep up the good work
Wow I love this toyota. In fact I’m gonna buy the 2019 Toyota Avalon limited hybrid tomorrow
A random falcons Fan excellent so update?
Ahmad The Muslim guy are you enjoying it?

Avalon has always been very nice, affordable luxury while also being reliable.
Just got a 2019 Perisian night pearl for my wife. She loves it.

Have a 2014 limited and I love it
Really enjoy your Reviews.

this generation of the avalon his sooooooo freaking sexy that thing looks great super close to lexus in the looks i think its the best looking car in its category and this generation of the camry looks great also but the avalon theirs nothing out there that looks like it
Toyota is really stepping it up compared to my dads 2004 Corolla
This car continues to grow on me. This red and the white are the best colors in my opinion. Unfortunately, I have a 2015 so I won’t need a new car until 2026 or later.
Not going to lie Matt, this car looks nice I frankly don’t see the point why people get the Lexus ES plus you can put regular gas on this one.
Rain Santiago i hate the es it’s so ugly, boring and just regular
Rain Santiago only for the Lexus badge so they can show off
The Lexus ES 350 runs on recommend regular octane gas.
"The most dynamic Avalon yet"...Well, yes, if you are searching for dynamism from your Avalon. I still think the Avalon is the best Japanese interpretation of the Crown Victoria.
I would rather have a Toyota Crown for North America market.
I have a 2014 limited and I love it.
Every time a console is opened these days...I see the console of our 2011, 2012 and 2017 Kia Optimas' lift out change pocket...Were we the first??
@ matt maran should i replace the brz with the avalon?? the features are what i really need specially with the apple carplay and the cargo space... or should i wait for the new rav 4?
Ricer Nurse rav4 dude rav4

dang those wheels are beautiful
Great review Matt!
Matt I can’t wait to see your ZR1 acceleration reaction!! When are you going to upload it?!?!
Another great review, Matt

I like this new 4 door '19 camaro
Edit:looks better than the 2 door
How the hell is this remotely close to a damn Camaro
Really great review! I know this might be a bit apple to orange, but how does the touring model compare with the 2018 Accord Sport?
Thanks! Love my 2019 Avalon hybrid limited, average anout 47 mpg 👍
It does not "pipe-in" the engine sound through the audio, it is an artificially "enhanced" sound

Would you like a little bumper with your grille?XD legit it’s alllllll grille. I thought that was why they have Lexus lol.
No rear heat controls? The 2018 had it
That front grill will NEVER be clean, LOL! That said, very nice looking car, no doubt about it😎
How would you compare the Avalon Limited trim to the 2018 Accord Touring trim?
would you recommend a limited avalon over a 2016-17 lexus es350
Sometimes car's like this give you more
NICE Review: 2019 Toyota Avalon (Touring + Limited)
i was wondering why it has a texas plate then i realized Toyota US is in plano
Nice in red Matt!
The grill reminds me of cow catchers placed on the front of a steam engine.

Good morning Matt
What about the Ford Mustang GT has sequence rear turn signals
What roads/area were you driving?
xse Camry then Corolla and Avalon wonder if they will make a xse prius?
d k lol😂😂 Xse Prius
it looks like the screaming sun’s mouth from the planet that has 43 hour days in rick and morty.

Brawny Mystic27 yes all Avalon models do.
I only watch for “Let’s turn onto this back road here and see how she does”
Wow it looks really aggressive
Dude can moonlight as an auctioneer !
Black is the best color to ease the grille presence and size on the eyes
I like my Camry but i absolutely HATE the entune set up. Thankfully Metra has dash kit to where I can get rid of the radio in my 18 camry when I can.
I love it but not in red saw it in the Chicago auto show in white and all black !
I'm just here to see all the comments about the grill
Cargasm 💦

Matter of time when the cd players are being removed. Toyota needs to add android auto!
Confused why the Camry didn't get that exhaust...
RIP aftermarket stereo infotainment units.

They been dead for years lmfao for cars that are like 2010 and up
Plus, there's no need for thoes anymore for modern cars.
When will it be available to the public
Why don't you include the glovebox in storage space?
Because most gloveboxes are about the same size and most people don't put much in them since it's more out of the way.
