    I bought this bike a few weeks ago. So much fun on the twisty backroads! The right amount of useable power for the street. Tail tidy and mirrors were the first upgrades I did right away.

      Agree, and those upgrades are great, which mirrors did you put on?

    Although I prefer the look of the trellis frame. This Ducati actually sticks closer to the Monster heritage by changing the frame. The original monsters frame was (from memory) based on their super bike of the time, the 851. This one being based on the Panigale , sort of keeps the Monster more inline with tradition than if it was to continue with the Trellis frame. Same goes for the motor and running gear. Back in the day all of the monsters running gear was from their more commonly used motors from the Supersport range.
    I think a belly pan would improve the look of the bike. Definitely would be putting a fender eliminator on it.

    • @BikerTorque
      @BikerTorque  Рік тому +1

      That is absolutely spot on Matt, not sure if was the 851, but definitely from their super bike of the era.

    I had a Monster+ for about a year and echo a lot of the same sentiments. Overall a pleasant ownership experience. I liked it a lot and found it fun to ride. Just not well-suited for the urban riding I was doing (the marketing material was kind of misleading in that aspect). It definitely wanted to go fast all the time and was noticeably unhappy going slower speeds. In typical Ducati fashion, it ran quite hot, so being able to keep moving was key to keeping my “parts” cool. Being a newer rider, I had no attachment to the older trellis frame look. However, I admit that the bike’s styling is rather bland and all the black cladding is kinda cheap-looking. Nothing really differentiating it from most other naked bikes. The 937 sounded a lot like a sewing machine for the first 1000 miles, but began to develop a nicer sounding tone once it was broken in, even with the stock exhaust. Given the open road it wanted, the engine itself is an absolute gem with great power delivery. Ergonomics were very nice. The long service intervals were definitely a plus as a consumer. I picked up the new Scrambler Icon to replace it and it’s much more my jam! However, it might be nice to revisit the 937 in another model in the future…

    I'm on my third Monster (14 1200 S). I was "raised" on sport bikes, but in my old age, I left the crotch rockets and bought a Monster. My riding these days is mostly commuting in the ugly SF Bay Area commute but we can lane filter and split legally here. The monster is the perfect bike for this, but I gotta tell you, I miss the trellis frame. Will that lack of design keep me from buying my fourth Monster? Probably not. Thanks for this video; this Yank salutes Australia!

      Hey, always good to see our US friends enjoying our videos. The new monster is a great bike. Don’t know if I’d describe San Fransisco Bay as ugly, it reminds me a lot of Sydney. I have family there so head over there quite a bit.

    The aesthetics that the trellis frame added far outweigh ( pun intended ) any gain than comes from removing it ! For me .

    Ducati’s are great bikes for tiny people that like to overspend on cost of ownership. They handle well, come with great quality suspension, and amazing electronics. The down side is the cost of maintenance and they are way too small.
