How many of you out there completely just shed many tears over how beautiful this music really is? Every time I hear the hallelujah chorus sung, or I play it (I’m an organist) I break down into tears of gratitude. I thank God every single time I hear that played, and I thank God that Handel made such glorious music to glorify our wonderful creator and father. Amen, and Hallelujah!
WHAT A GREAT CHOIR SINGING THE GREATEST MUSIC OF MANY CENTURIES. THIS IS THE GREATEST MASTERPIECE OF MANY,MANY CENTURIES, WHAT A COMPOSER HANDEL WAS,THIS WAS HIS GREATEST ACHIEVEMENT. THE MESSIAH IS THE GREAT MUSIC AND SUNG BY MANY ORDINARY PEOPLE.
As I tell young Mormons I meet in their outreach, this choir reaches out to all, the Salvation Army reaches out to help all, Roman Catholic Covenant house those in distress, the Methodist Children's Homes help those without right elders, all try to get folks back to church & a better way. Thanks & may God bless.

WHAT A GREAT CHOIR SINGING THE GREATEST MUSIC OF MANY CENTURIES. THIS IS THE GREATEST MASTERPIECE OF MANY,MANY CENTURIES, WHAT A COMPOSER HANDEL WAS,THIS WAS HIS GREATEST ACHIEVMENT.
I was a choir boy in my local church in the north of England. And of coarse sang the soprano bits. I am now 67 and still in my mind sing it that way. It is of coarse one of the most fabulous pieces of music ever .
For Unto Us A Child Is Given, And The Government Shall Be Upon His Shoulders; And His Name Shall Be Wonderful ... The Everlasting Father; The Prince Of P E A C E. ! ! !
Blessed be all these people for singing praise to The Lord! They bring joy and comfort to many of us and humanity everywhere in the world. This is heavenly music indeed! (..I am not a mormon by the way, just a Christian..)
For, unto us a Child is born, unto us a Son is given, and the government shall be upon His shoulder. And His name shall be called: Wonderful! Couselor! The Mighty God! The Everlasting Father! The Prince of Peace! I love the Messiah- both the man and the music.
Ciao Icaro, I suspect you know this great chorus is not the 'last' in Messiah.?? It is Worthy is the Lamb' which is just as brilliant and inspiring . . .at least to we singers. WASP
It's not Christmas without this beautiful choir and Handel's Messiah! I used to perform this work every year until my voice lost that beautiful range that was justice to this work. No other musical work can make me shed tears more than this. It's beauty gives me "goose bumps" If only I could perform it again!!!
Thank you Deborah. I for one, sincerely appreciate your comments and honesty. I also am not a Morman and do appreciate their music and musicians having also had the opportunity and priviledge of seeing them perform in the flesh.
I agree with Deborah Meyer: Christmas is not Christmas without Handel's Messiah sung by the amazing voices in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir! What a treat to our ears and to our souls!
Wonderful that they are using a peroid 'piano' !. The classics like this sound so much different when presented in the origional format. The Tabernacle Choir has been a class act for more decades than I've been alive. Great Grandma still still has some of their first records. God Bless Them.
Handel's Messiah has been sung so reverently and with such meaning that it inspires many to prayerfully thank for having it written. It takes me back 55+ years back when we used to sing it in a small town of Lucknow in Northern India, although it was nothing much as compared to as what am hearing MTC singing.
I have listened to many versions of the Messiah over 50 years, this version comes very close to the top as being the best in every respect, quite magnificent.
It was in the late 1950's when I first heard this choir. That first song I heard was "Lo how a rose e're blooming". I've now reached the age of 74. One of the great Blessings I've experienced has been listening to this great Choir and now with the Orchestra! Thank you so very much for providing such a Blessing!
This is the best performance I've ever listened to. It's certainley a MASTER PIECE. Händel received a real inspiration from heaven above to write MESSIAH that will everlast for ever and ever. MY CONGRATULATIONS TO SUCH WONDERFUL CHOIR.
So inspirational! It feels like being in heaven listening to this. I strongly believe that they sing close to the angels choir above. You feel so different when you're listening to them. You forget for a moment that you're living in a crazy world all you think about is heaven.
That's it right there ... music all around the room ... you could feel the passion!! My dream is just to be in a hall like this enjoying myself with some fresh music without hearing anybody say that it is boring!
Edie Jacobs I have been privileged to sing the Messiah several times with various community choruses. It is a chilling experience to blend ones own voice with several other choirs together! The music of Handel's Messiah will live on forever. Words taken from the Holy Word of Christ our Lord! ✝️
First, it's not a statement. If you recognize the funny line at the end as a question mark, this makes what was written a question. And no you don't, but the assertion that you make implies that the music was intended to proselytize. Now, Handel was indeed a believer, but at the time that this was composed, he was more concerned with making money. Of course the wrote from the feelings in his heart, but he could have cared less if this had any "missionary force". Read his history...
What really matters is this: JESUS, the LORD, is coming soon, in majesty and glory. MARANATA! Shalon, from the city of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais, Brazil.
"And being thus overcome with the Spirit, he was carried away in a vision, even that he saw the heavens open, and he thought he saw God sitting upon his throne, surrounded with numberless concourses of angels in the attitude of singing and praising their God" (1 Nephi 1:8). "For my soul delighteth in the song of the heart; yea, the song of the righteous is a prayer unto me, and it shall be answered with a blessing upon their heads" (D&C 50:12).
I have just sung this. Handel is my favourite composer. It was particularly special because one of my sons was also singing. Singing draws families together. Families should sing together a lot more than they often do. What a lovely performance on the recording.
Congratulations to MTC, you sound like an English choir and to sing these great choruses with such a large choir is no mean feat because large choirs can be very unwieldy, but you are fantastic.
I can always tell when music is really good; I get involuntary chills all over, and I don't have flu or a cold. I don't have a malaise as I would if I were getting sick; rather, it is a very pleasant, thrilling feeling. I get it only when I am listening to this choir, more so when it is one of the great masterpieces like the Messiah or Ode to Joy, etc.
One of the greatest operas ever written, it's choral numbers brilliantly brought to life by the (Mormon) Tabernacle Choir and the Orchestra at Temple Square.
Love the chior ; the orchestration of the music, along with special guest stars (Katherine Jenkins, Andrea Bocelle & Kristin Chenoweth) are among my favorites. Every time I listen, I'm inspired & BLESSED!! THANK YOU ALL KEEP THE CONCERTS COMING!💟💟💟💟
This is a brilliant collection of music from the Mormon`s. Their Choir is one of the great Choirs playing on this earth. Their Orchestra is brilliant also.

Peronally I think this is a must watch, I know this oratorio by heart and I love it very much. You will not regret that you took the time. And I know, after watching this, you will be filled with gratitude to God. .
There s no doubt you might have aboutthis book just read it and ask God to answer you if the book is true, I did when I was 14 and felt a warm feeling on my chest as a result, and even though I was not an adult already I could understand God answers people according to their disposition and He reaches you. That was enough for me, it sustained me through my years in the university where Atheism was a creed , yet I had an eperience with God and as Joseph Smith said ; I could not deny it
Handel‘s works have an eternal life and immeasurable popularity and attraction
Wonderfulness and solemnity of this song are off the charts
Sorry Folks, but it's just not Christmas for me without this choir and Tennessee Ernie Ford. God Bless America
Handel's MESSIAH is essentially an opera in concert form, and it is one of the greatest operas ever written.
How many of you out there completely just shed many tears over how beautiful this music really is? I can't imagine any Christmas without this incredible Choir and Tennessee Ernie Ford.
No better music than that of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Every Sunday morning my family enjoys starting out the day with the Choir.
Excent! There is no better choir in the world.
Handel's Messiah has got to be the most incredible work of all time.
I feel lifted, strengthenwd listening to it.
Wow, what a lot of good it has done
GREAT
I'm Best regards to the tabernacle choir and family members of the public who are blessed to have heard of the great sound
The best music performed by the best choir. How can it get any better than that?
In awe I attempt to fathom the inspiration of Handel. Certainly it did come from high above.
I was a choir boy in my local church in the north of England. And of coarse sang the soprano bits. I am now 67 and still in my mind sing it that way. It is of coarse one of the most fabulous pieces of music ever .

Glory to Our Lord JesusChrist !
I like your choir so much!!
Handel was inspired by the Holy Spirit to write such beautiful music.
Agree, Praise the Lord.
Handel, a genius, really inspired by God! Amazing!
The last song, Hallelujah, is powerful and comfort us anytime.
Enjoyt it!

***** I AM NOT A MORMON. This comment was about music, NOT RELIGON
+Alex Lichty, I think you're jealous.
Not a very Christlike perspective or statement. Sound very judgmental. What does the Pope say about the LDS church and its members..?
Thank you Deborah. I for one, sincerely appreciate your comments and honesty. I also am not a Morman and do appreciate their music and musicians having also had the opportunity and priviledge of seeing them perform in the flesh.
Glory of the Lord shall be revealed

I agree with Deborah Meyer: Christmas is not Christmas without Handel's Messiah sung by the amazing voices in the Mormon Tabernacle Choir! What a treat to our ears and to our souls!

The name you're searching for is harpsichord, and I agree! Such awesome music performed by an amazing group.
Classical music is my best kind of music and Handel is my favourite composer as well.

I absolutely agree. I believe that when Handel composed "The Messiah", being Catholic, Protestant, or Jewish or Muslim did not cross his mind!
To my mind this is the greatest musical score ever written.
I've always loved the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. What a great performance! I'd love to be in the choir but at least I've got a cousin there. Well done!
So inspirational! It feels like being in heaven listening to this. I strongly believe that they sing close to the angels choir above. You feel so different when you're listening to them. You forget for a moment that you're living in a crazy world all you think about is heaven.
The greatest combination of music ever composed by the great composer Handel.

THE MOST POWERFUL MISSIONARY FORCE ON EARTH - - ENOUGH SAID!
+Keith Fritz Keith, Keith, Keith...mormon?
Not sure what the point of your statement is. You don't have to be Mormon to appreciate the beauty and genius of Handel's Messiah.
First, it's not a statement. If you recognize the funny line at the end as a question mark, this makes what was written a question. Were you pounding your fist on your desk when you wrote that?
No, scratching my head at Kieth's remark...

A wonderful performance
This is music that will be around throughout eternity. Thank you to all of the musicians for the excellent musical offering and heartfelt oblation.
This is the best of best, it reminds me of my late father ....
I love this choir and i love the Messiah from Handel.
Gracias al Señor por haber derramado Su Espíritu con esta música como preparación para establecer Su reino aquí en la tierra.
The Lord's choir.
Yes, as am a believer of Jesus Christ.

What a magnificent performance! The most wonderful music you can listen to at Christmas.
I knew a Presbyterian minister that went there to hear the choir. He said no recording could ever reproduce what he heard there.
Wish I was there :)
