4 is the only one i own. Its fun. Even if it i only ever played it with my sister and one friend. No more than that were ever interested. Goldeneye 64 however i played with 4 players many MANY times.

@@joeymormango8614 Pretty sure the translation of WA in Japanese actually means evil. So Wario is just "evil Mario" and Waluigi is just "evil Luigi".
Also I never knew Boshi's Japanese name was Washi, even though I've played SMRPG many times. That also means that Washi actually predates Waluigi, since his first appearance was in Mario Tennis.

Mario Party DS had everyone shrunken down so you could the theme is Mouse World in that game

They didn't mention it in this video, but Wario also has lines of "jawohl" ("yes" or "hooray") and "ausgezeichnet" ("excellent!"). The audio quality is poor though, so the last one just kind of sounds like a weird laugh to most listeners.

I think dice steak is just a mistranslation of diced steak. Diced as in cutting food into cubes, not actually meant to be dice

I doubt it because of the KR translation that says ROLL the dice steak
"cook the dice steak" doesn't mean it was supposed to be dice. Dicing is a way of cutting food. It makes more sense to interpret the translation as "cook the diced steak"
I was thinking this same thing!! I was like there’s no way that could be a dice! Maybe they meant diced steak?
Saikoro Steak is an actual dish name that translates to Dice Steak (as in the kind you roll) because the meat is cut into small cubes that resemble dice.
Its Japanese wordplay, try not to think too hard about it because it doesn't translate directly to English in a way that would make sense and still be funny in the context given.

2:45 Can confirm, stick-spinning minigames were hell. Especially with that god forsaken N64 controller, with the hard plastic digging in, and all the spinning and banging into the 8 corners would render the stick near inoperable after only a few sessions.

It's a bit funny that as a kid, when I was hyped for Sunshine, I had theorised that Shadow Mario was a Koopa Kid from Mario Party. I remember how happy I was when I saw that I was right, kinda haha!

No, it's a Japanese word joke. It doesn't translate 1:1 to English and still retain the pun very well. It's literally a small cube of steak referred to as a dice steak.

I'm really hoping for a new Super Mario Party but biggers boards, newer minigames but less motion controls, more items to keep it interesting and being able to play it in handheld mode
Maybe customizable games where you can choose star costs, items, minigames etc
The animations were absolutely amazing in SMP1 so I'm hoping they keep that style
The boards aren't that bad because the max dice roll is 6.
However I was really disappointed with the fact that there is no options menu. Being able to turn off specific bonus stars (or even just bonus stars in general, allies, special dice blocks, would've been really nice. Allies can be really op and are all up to chance at the beginning of the game, the bonus stars in this are basically complete chance because every bonus star as an opposite, e.g. Slowpoke: person who traveled the least gets a star, and Sight Seer: person who traveled the most gets a star. Their's also a bonus star for allies which makes them even better (and another one for having the ally that "matches" your character, which I still have no idea how that one works).
I really like special Dice blocks but it would still be nice to just play it normal. Some characters are also better on some courses according to their dice block. For instance the Island map, Shy Guy's only 4s block allows him to not hit pipe spaces which is pretty crucial to winning on that map.
I also found Boo and Wario to be the best in general, while Bowser and Boo/Wario are the best combination for teams.
Also an option to turn off mini games or at least motion controlled mini games would be nice, most of them are fine but there are 3 I found really janky, the description and example of what your supposed to do is way off and I had to figure one out myself, the other two I still have no idea what to do.
Basically the randomness of allies, random bonus stars, getting potentially screwed over more by dice blocks, makes the party mode in this not at all as enjoyable as previous ones. I do think Partner Party is actually one of the best things to come to Mario Party in awhile and I love this mode, the ally problem is kind of null in this one because you can just walk to them instead of getting lucky on a random number. This also makes bonus stars a little more balanced (still don't like them though), dice blocks can also balance each other out a little, so if you get a really crappy roll your partner can kind of make up for it.

7:25 oh hey, i saw a recent twitter post talking about the small Bowser confusion. i didint remember clearly, but this totally explains my confusion over the course of all the Mario Parties and Sunshine, they were very inconsistent with Koopa Kid in the US translations.
Super Mario party is such a blast especially with friends. Wish we could play the board game online too instead of just the mini games!

Yep I won without doing anything, but not using Luigi. I was using Hammer Bro in Mario Party 8 where the mini game Rudder Madness can be won by doing nothing. I even have a video of that!
The snow bunnies in _Mario Party 6_ were also in _Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door_ and later in _Super Paper Mario_.
Also, I kinda want Koopa Kid to come back in a future _Mario Party_ game. It would funny to see him alongside Bowser Jr.- just imagine the two having a rivalry in promotional materials! 😂

I wish Mario Party would take a more D&D approach with stats such as Combat/Jumping/Speed/Pickpocketing/Persuasion/Armor which can effect dice rolls & shopping in the game, and do much much larger gameboards with different diverging paths and more solid themes
