For those who don't know what a 355 is it's a 350 bored out .30 over the cubic inches change no more 350 cubic inch it's now 355 cubic inches. 40 over 357 60 over 360. I'm also running a 355 in my 87 regal and I love it
. . No pun. Just to point out for people doing the actual math on an engine the stock bore size of a 350 is = 4.000" So now when boring it over what people call "thirty over" is not .30; it is O.O3O" over the four-inch bore giving the new bore size at = 4.O3O" give or take O.OO1" to O.OO2" Now let this be clear. There is entirely not ANY way whatsoever you are going to bore a sbc + O.3O" NO WAY shall it ever occur. That being said, your information is extremely valuable. Another thing to note is that a real machinist that makes anywhere from 75,000 and up to 150,000 or more a year shall sometimes, or all of the time, call this = "thirty thou". In math you look at the decimal places. According to these it gives you the counter. To the left of the decimal placement is what is known as the "ONES" place. To the right of the decimal point is the "tens" then the "hundredths" then the "thousandths" and so on. The point is that there is not a "ONES" place to the right of the decimal point. This can be confusing at times especially those that forget math and such. Any of you building an engine must have to know this and to prevent you from ruining your engine is why i am clarifying for anyone that doesn't know this. Thanks laterZ.
Wait what? It’s not a LS? 🙄 your no longer in style. I love when the classic SBC out perform an equally built LS engine. Not that I’m anti-LS, but so many people removing perfectly good SBC that they invested good money in. To swap for a LS. Just so they can feed their ego and say look. I’ve got an LS
Facts I have a 355 in my regal and it runs hard and can keep up with today's technology 💪 ain't changing shit if I do change anything is to switch to my 383 stroker but that's later on. And that's no knock to the LS they are good motors 🤙
Hi Jmalcom I have a budget built Chevy Small Block 355 daily driver, has RHS pro action 200cc heads,202 intake,670 street avenger Holley, 268 Lunati Voodoo cam, MSD kit, electric fans,2 1/2 inch headers 700r4 trans , 40 series Flowmasters , B&M 2400 stall, 373 gears limited slip rear end, what time should I expect in 1/4 mile ?
Johnny Moran lol it dies but I can honestly say this one is. I know for sure. Me and the owner are super close but this was the old motor but it ran pretty good
Small cubic inches on a big shot of gas, people forget those little motors can rev high rpms
That’s all me and my crew run is 355 sbc I’m glad somebody else believes in a 350
What you looking to cruise around?
Jay Harris straight drag! I may take it around the block every now and then!
Rocket Vlogs striker kit, flat top pistons 700 roller cam, afr heads, high output distributor
Jay Harris got a 2700 pound foxbody u think I can run 6 flats I think I should be able to
And u think that .700 roller cam go work in there
Very nice!! Runs and sounds great!! What mufflers are you running on it? And how much nitrous?
Instead of tape on the lower quarters try using Pam cooking spray the rubber won't stick to it.
