Hi Harvey, very helpful. Thank you. Your videos have been a godsend whilst sorting out a number of problems with my Fabia
thank you, i will be doing more soon :-)
Hi Harvey ! I have watched this 4 or 5 times now as I have to replace my radiator 😣 I have to take out the crash bar and the slam panel as well ! You are like a talking manual and have saved me so much hassle and grief ! No ambiguity in your vids ! I'd say I have done 75% of the Fabia jobs with no mishaps or hassles ! Keep it up !! 😎
Thanks for the kind words, most appreciated, glad to have helped you out, sorry I haven't done a radiator vid yet :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey I Agree, I would definitely be able to find my way eventually, but u saved me meany hours + braking stuff so hats off to u 🎉
Your works is wonderful mate Thanks for helping the community
Much appreciated, many thanks 👍
Very well put together. Will be using on a VRS with a cracked bumper. Thanks
Thanks Adam, VRS is much the same bar a couple of extra clips.
Thanks for your videos only just got my fabia and you have helped a lot 🙂👍🏽
Thanks, that is so nice to hear, glad to help :-)
Thank you so very much for your excellent videos, they are extremely helpful!!!
You're very welcome :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey My bumper was cracked in two places and had to go through inspection here in Germany. With your extremely clear help I took it off easily and properly and "welded" the cracks from behind with a soldering iron and then epoxied the front. Just came back from re-inspection and went through with flying colors! I really like my 2005 Fabia and will try and keep her up and running for years to come. All my best to you and yours. Chris
Thanks Chris, all the best and happy motoring :-)
Very helpful video,thanks a lot.
Most welcome!
Great vid, nice Omega watch too
Thanks, I should really take the watch off
Thanks! Helpful video
Thank you so much for you're kind words :-)
Many thanks for this video.
You are very welcome :-)
Mate - im a first time car owner and your channel has helped me HUGELY with getting my fabia in good order.. subscription well and truly earned!
I was wondering if you had any ideas where i can find a black front bumper for my fabia, its so degraded - it lets the car down ALOT.
All black fabias used the same Z1Z1 magic black color code so im not worried about color matching... i just need to find that darned front bumper!!...
Any help would REALLY be appreciated - thanks!
Glad you like the channel. Scappers, but becoming harder to find a good one as mk2's are now more common. I've needed a new bonnet and rear tailgate also and still waiting :-)
Great video.
Glad you enjoyed it :-)
Thanks my master! ;)
Thank you too my friend ;-)
Great video, helpful as always. Have you had to take off the front panel behind the bumper? Mine's had a small bump and the panel has broken around the light clusters. Garage wanted to charge me £££'s so looking to do it myself but unsure if when I remove the panel the rad will come off too.
Thanks, to be honest I can't remember as when I did this a number of years ago fixing the A/C pump I took the rads out anyway, but I think the panel carrier can be removed without the need to remove the rads. You just have to take out the bolts holding the condenser and rad to the carrier, it is all one piece on reflection, but you need to support both rad and condenser inside from moving from situ as you could cause leaks if you are too brutal. Will video this when the weather improves. Hope this helps :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey Thanks, Got the front wheel bearing job to do first but once that's done i'll let you know how I get on.
Красавчик!!! Спасибо!!!
Спасибо, пожалуйста :-)
Great video! It is easy to do IF you know how to do it. Otherwise it is much harder to do. One thing though: I guess it's much harder to perform this during winter. I mention this because I would like to exchange the hydraulic fluid of the power steering. Even if the factory doesn't mention the fluid change. (Maybe just BECAUSE they don't mention it) It appears to me that this exchange would be MUCH easier then working from the front in stead of from underneath.
Maybe something for a future video? Thanks and greetings from Tulipland.
Thanks, working on cars outside in bad weather isn't good for your bones so keep warm. Yes the power steering unit is right at the front and can fail over time with use, but maybe all that is needed is to check the electrical connections and level. If it isn't electrical then I would just replace it, maybe with a good low mileage used one.
Fabia is known to have dying power steering block. They are not cheap, sadly. A lot of people here in Czech sell theirs Fabias because of this problem.
For changing the steering fluid, if your bottle is under the battery, you have to remove the battery and also the front left wheel and also the plastic wheel arch. Then you have access to the pump.
If you have not xenon headlights you can easily access to electric connectors just removing front left fog light.
If you have xenon headlights this method doesn't work because windscreen liquid bottle is bigger that usual and it covers electric connectors.
Once you have access to the pump just remove returning pipe, block returning hole in the pump (not in the pipe), add hydraulic liquid in the bottle.
Lift the car just a bit and start the engine in order to move the steering wheel. Doing this all liquid will be forced out of the system.
Remember to refill the bottle.
Probably you will need jumping cables because battery will be out of the car in order to get access to the bottle tap.
Sorry for my English.
Great video. Im thinking of replacing both the wings. Have you got a video of this?
Thanks. I'm afraid I haven't done a video on this, but will add it to the list. :-)
@gg fixing xxbest Not yet, I'll put that on my list :-)
Interesting watch, thanks. I have a mk 1 VRS where some numpty reversed into the front bumper and didn’t leave details. 🤬 went in for repair to body shop under my insurance and it has come back all repainted okay except the bumper seams aren’t flush, slightly bigger gap near headlight on both sides compared to rest of the seam. Is this likely to be down to them not caring and spending sufficient time to get it aligned properly? Perhaps I should be grateful that it looks rubbish on both sides.......🤬
The work should be guaranteed, even though it has gone through the insurance company. I'd contact the insurance company and say your not happy with the job as you have only just noticed when you got the car home and examined it closely that the bumper isn't aligned properly. They should be able to arrange for it to be corrected either by the original body shop or another. It is perfectly proper to expect that the seams align correctly. My guess is that the clips on the body may need replacing also as these could have been damaged in the bump and the garage may not have thought about these. Hope this helps :-)
Good advice thanks - I’m going to raise it with them. I wasn’t sure If I was being unrealistic as it’s an old car but seeing your video and your helpful response has helped me realise that it is a quality issue with their work which they need to fix. Cheers. 😃
Hey great video. Got a question. I got skoda fabia mk1 2002 1.4mpi with no AC and I got to replace the radiator. Can I do it from inside the engine bay or I got to take out the whole front end, bumper including?
If no AC condenser then yes it drops downwards after disconnecting everything, but you still have to take the bumper off to get to the rad bolts.
Would you be able to do a video on replacing the side mount intercooler?
Yes i will do that, noted :)
Hi Harvey!
How can I adjust the bumper line to the correct position? My car's line is very wide at the light ca. 3-4 mm, but at the wheel fits very well, without any gaps. Thank you for your answer!
You have my sympathy as it is not always an easy thing to do. Maybe the mounting strip is misaligned or damaged or the bumper end is damaged. The bumper should fit snugly near the light. You will have to lift it off and look closely to find out why. It is not an easy thing to do and a bit of pushing and pulling holding your body close to the panel helps I have found - be very firm in what you want it to do - pull it close at the front to hook it to the clip and you should be able to see why it is or not aligning. Or on your particular car it is misaligned from the start? Hope you have the confidence to take it off again and hopefully fix it in a better place - 4mm is too wide! ;-/
@@HatBoyHarvey thank you my friend! I'll check it if I have time to do it!
Please make a video explaining the adjustment of the headlights on the Skoda.
Yes, I could and should do one on that, thank you. Sometimes the adjustment mechanism fails and sometimes it is just a new lamp that is needed. Take care when fitting the bumper around the headlight. As I recall, it is a tight fit against the bumper and your lights may be misaligned if you force it.

Hi Harvey! You have previously helped me a lot with the nozzles issue. So, I came to you with another question. Do you think is it possible to replace the central, lower bump grille without removing the whole bumper? Thank you in advance.
I think on reflection this is fitted from the inside, but can't be totally confident with that. Can't it be seen on the video?
@@HatBoyHarvey You left them untouched when removing the whole bumper, as seen on the video. Don't worry, I'll see. Thank you very much, any way.
Hi, do you know where can I order the plastic for the sides which black plastic is holding the side of the bumper please?
Search for skoda fabia bumper brackets online generally or ebay comes up with some. make sure they look the same and for the Mk1 :-)
Would I be able to fit VRS front bumper on Skoda 1.4 mpi?
Mk1 Rear will fit fine as long as it isn't the estate, front will need the VRS bumper clips
I want a bumper from the vrs version. Do you know where I can buy it online?
Have a look on ebay :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey OK, thanks brother.
The windshield water sprinklers are very weak.. I disassembled the sprayers and cleaned them and they still are.. I think the water hose connecting them has a problem.. Can you help me, thank you
Sorry to here your sprinklers are poorly. Take the centre piece out, (careful no to damage it) clean it and refit. Have a look to see if there is any water on the ground under the car when you activate the switch, if so then there is a leak. If no leak then either there is a blockage in the jet or the pipes or the tank. Clean all those out and then if still no luck suspect the pump - it is behind the passenger wheel arch liner. The pump just pushes in from the top and may leak there. The motor maybe worn out and need replacing.
@@HatBoyHarvey Thank you.. I tried all of that.. but I could not reach the pipes connecting the sprinklers to the bottom of the cupboard.. and thank you very much
Hi, I put the bumper face down and now it doesn't clip the last clip from the wheel, what to do, it looks very ugly
If it is just the black trim that you scuffed you can use a heat gun and gently bring the colour back. To get the last clip on you must make sure the corners are hooked on correctly as this governs the seam and clips :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey One more question, At what torque should the AC pipes be tightened so as not to damage the rings
Lift The boompa 🤣
Ok Super 🌞🌞🌞🇵🇱

hyy i like your videos a lot can you please give me the video number if its realted with ignitin coil and spark plugs changing i have same car as yours. Thank you
Sorry I haven't one on that :-)
Why not tell people to remove fog lights and temp sensor first while bumper in situ much safer option.
You could do that, but you would have to bend down and fiddle/remove some more stuff and I really think it is easier to take the bumper off first, remembering not to rip the wires out ;-)
2:09 I can’t get it off from here, all bolts off
make sure the last bolt is off under the wheel arch. You have to lift the corner up and out, it unhooks the tabs on the wing seam. Maybe give it a squirt with silicone lube or grease. Don't force it, but you have to be firm. Good luck, hope this helps :-)
@@HatBoyHarvey cheers mate, thanks sm
