Terrific, Sir
Thanks 😊
Would like to see it driven around! Thanks, M
Perfect, I'll set it up! Thanks for watching!
Great to see you uploading again Dave. Yes, definitely post your other videos.
Still waiting for the Detroit update video.
All the best 👍🏻
Thanks! Hope all is well! I promise I'll get to the Detroit soon.
B good to see it driving great video🤠
Thanks KT, hope you're keeping well, always good to hear from the regulars!
It's an interesting channel; so, yes please, whether it's a montage of the smaller bits & pieces you mentioned or stuff like this - keep it coming !
Thanks for the feedback! I'll start pulling it together!
Whats happening with the burnt out Fordy? Be good to see a video or 2 on that again. 👍
I held off on responding to your comment in the hopes of getting to it today. I have been working on it and filming it and hope to have it running soon. May be the next video all going well!
@@davesworkshop2714 Looking forward to seeing it. Cheers Dave.
Keep it coming, always fun to watch
Thanks Ken!
That's a rare of Ferguson now petrol/tvo you all ways see plenty of the little grey Fergusons but they was built to last simple but easy to fix and maintain so no stupid electrical problems like new tractors but the old tractors still do the job long as you got a cushion for you seat ideal for small simple jobs round the farm or small holding
They're pretty robust Peter, especially when you consider they were probably the first tractors on a lot of farms and took abuse.
Great bit of film, im a bit of a Ferguson fanatic, i have a straight petrol t20 in the garage, we have a tef diesel and a ted tvo, i also have a straight petrol massey Ferguson 35 i bought early this year as a project its quite unusual as not many petrol 35 tractors around
Thanks Harry. The 35 petrol must indeed be a rare beast, as are the straight petrol 20s. Is it the same engine as the 20?
Great video, thank you!
Thank you for watching, keeps me making them 🙂
Good video. Love to see her moving.
Keep your eye out for David brown tractors to work at.
Thanks! I'm always looking out for DBs, they're really popular. Though I need to fill in the gaps and find a JD, Fiat and Leyland i think!
Ye definitely like see all the tractor stuff and cars will it start vids grate work keep it up
Thanks Alex, hope you're keeping well!
Good man..not afraid of a challenge 😀…
Thanks Dan! Always good to work on something different 👍
Dave great result. Would be great to see it rolling.
Thanks Rob. I'll see if i can get her out to do some work!
Great new vid Dave another massey bought back to life 😀
Hey, great to hear from you as always, hope all is well!
Any of your videos will be interesting to watch .Excellent job on the Fergi makes a difference being stored inside she runs nice and is in lovely condition well done once again
Thanks Glyn. It does make such a difference having them inside. I was glad of it, the rain was really coming down in the end.
Dave fix the odds and ends and put her back in the field to work, Kudo's
Thanks Ken, I'm hoping she'll be put back to some work, though with petrol at €1.67 per litre it could be expensive!
@@davesworkshop2714 Yikes, sound like our country right now the clowns will be out soon and prices of living we go back down as well. Hope the same for you
@@kenfrazier616 it would want to. Crazy stuff.
Nice one Dave 👌👌
That brought back some memories, A friend of mine father had one of them tractors and remember him starting it with the gearstick .
I think you're officially the engine whisperer 😉💪💪
🤣🤣 not sure about that Micky. Didn't get to use your starter switch this time. Hope all is well!
Great video Dave, nice to see you back making videos. You always seem to come up with something different. The Ferguson 20 diesel is making big money now.
Thanks Kevin, it's always nice to work on something different too. Must find a John Deere next 🤔 😁
There was an old man along the road from us up here had a TVO it went to restorer. I remember the old man towing it with the 4000. My brother's one was converted to from TVO to 3 cylinder Perkins. They think it was done in the Factory as I believe it was an opportunity to do it. Anyway Dave hope you and the family are well. Standard vanguard Engine i believe. Think they where quite reliable but I know they liked petrol 😂. Hence the reason why I suppose some where converted into diesel. I bet you are glad your inside i could hear that rain thumping down 😂😂. Been pretty much the same up here. Good to see old girl running. 👍yeah I'd like to see more. The 35 X had a Diff lock the 35 didn't. Thats how I know also my brother's one. It has been done up by the boy who bought it but it sits in a shed. 😂😂
I was thinking you'd like to see the 20 Ali! 🙂. The rain has been terrible, though then we get the odd lovely day from nowhere!
I know nothing but I would say this shove some easy start down the hole and when she fires up if she does the rest comes to life.. Well that's what I have found with the 17 I have bought and eventually got going but your vids are great for showing folk what to do they honestly are so well done !!
Thanks Allan, I probably should try that approach and save viewers time 😂😂. I'll pick one soon and try. Thanks again for taking the time to watch and comment
@@davesworkshop2714 hey not a negative a negative folk love to watch just what I do .

Hello dave Everthing ok looking forward to a new video 😊
All good. Got the pump for the burnt 4610 sorted at last so I might give that a shot once tonight's storm passes off. Must line up a bunch of videos to do over Christmas too. Hope all is well with you!
@@davesworkshop2714 yes all good here just now. I heard there is bad weather with you. I live in the Orkney islands so might be Comming up north this way too
@williameunson2013 we're under orange warning at the moment, some very heavy gusts earlier but they'll get it far worse north of us I'd say.
@@davesworkshop2714 I work as a mechanic here too Mainley rebuilding land rovers but work on cars and tractors too thats why its interesting for me watching your videos 😊
@williameunson2013 thanks! I'm working on my only Range Rover today, just refitting the injectors. Hopefully have it running in a few hours
Another great video. Any update on the burnt Ford tractor. Keep them coming. 4610 I think it was. Very interesting videos for us diy folk. 👍👍
Thanks Danny, I was actually in the yard looking at it earlier and I told the owner I'd be back on it soon. The CAT is sitting near it and there's also a JCB 537 teleporter that I'm working on down there that also got a little crispy. Video of both soon.
The engine is basically a downrated Standard Vanguard & Triumph TR3 engine
An amazingly versatile engine to be fair to it, build to last.
Ive a 20 diesel good tractor bundy bears shed in Australia is a helpful channel for repairs
His channel is excellent. I've made a lot of use out of his CAV DP pump videos. Used them to figure out the pumps on the 4000 and 4610. Thanks for watching 🙂
@@davesworkshop2714 your welcome
I'm waiting to hit 1000 subs at 900 today,😁
@@davesworkshop2714 where are you based?
Found one of these in a field many many years ago my next door neighbour who was a lady found the owner I dragged it out of the field and put it on my drive it had according to the owner been sat for over 30 years I took the plugs out filled it with diesel and every morning before work rocked the back wheels whilst in 4th gear dirty hands clean office job do not mix ?? After 5 weeks of this it suddenly clicked so now not seized 4 new plugs and dizzy cap fresh fuel and yes it started with my lovely next door neighbours putting flags across the drive to celebrate !! Those were the days sadly sold it a few years ago wishing I had not as this was my first tractor that was mine but hey ho it went to a good home so all ends well !!
Allan, thanks for sharing. I'd imagine a lot of TVO 20s had a relatively short working life compared to diesel ones. You've reminded me, I have another engine soaking I must go visit!
I think but correct me if i'm wrong, you start them on petrol & once they are warm you switch over to TVO which is basically paraffin & being as it's very low compression it'll run on it as it was cheaper than petrol back in the day
That's correct Nick. I always was led to believe TVO and paraffin were basically the same thing. Looking online though, it appears most people make their own now using a mix of kerosene and petrol.
It’ll usually start popping and backfiring if you leave it on petrol for too long.
@@davesworkshop2714 I think during the 60's people were running their old side valve engines on paraffin instead of petrol, I don't recall TVO was a mixture of Petrol/Paraffin though, you need to speak to a really old farmer they'll know
@@donaldcampbell8761 I think that too as they are very low compression engines
@nickb5391 I'll do a bit more research Nick. I'd also always assumed paraffin and tvo were the same.
Household central heating fuel now serves well in place of paraffin, at least on the Isle of Skye anyway!
Good to know! I did look online and they do recommend mixing with petrol. Might try it some day. Thanks for watching!!
Dave wonder if the old fuels will burn
I'll try it and let you know the result Ken. Hope you're well!
@@davesworkshop2714 cool, ya look forward to your channel
Harry Ferguson was a great Irish inventor that changed the world of farming for the less well off farmers by making a cheap mechanical horse
He certainly did nick. Thanks again for watching 🙂
hows your home going great I home , crops and the cattle?
Not too bad Ken. Just had a big mulcher in clearing some scrub so I've some fencing to do and reseeding in the spring.
@@davesworkshop2714 great sure the boos is happy with the work, Gotta keep her happy
Hi Dave, another great video, that looks a realy good find, coujple of question for you, do you buy these tractors fromthe present owners? or do they invite you to get them running again for them? That one looks very clean and healthy for it's age.
many thanks for sharing
Barry
Thanks Barry, great to hear from you. Usually I'm invited or I approach the owners and ask them. I generally don't own any apart from my own two. I'm lucky to have good neighbours who are happy to let me work on their stuff. This tractor was in preservation for years but hadn't been used in a long time.
Hey Dave,
Another enjoyable watch. Would like some extra footage. They don't have to all be wins, sometimes the no goes are just as interesting. Thanks again
@@freddishaw1031 thanks Freddie. I'll make it so 🙂
A fergy not starting that’s about right ,father bought a new 20 diesel when he bought this farm insisted on keeping it for 35 years couldn’t wait to see the back of it when he passed
😂 my father said the same about the 35 4 cylinder they had, the one and only massey ever to come into the yard. Good to meet you again above the last day, thanks for your help, was great to get it finished!
