Ascension was ok, but Descension is my favorite album/story. Just a testament to Claudio’s ability to nail down the hopeless romantic tragedy theme Coheed embodies. Number City and Away We Go still get me in the feels. Eagerly awaiting the next review!
I've been a fan of Coheed for years and just recently went to one of their concerts! I wanted to get into the storyline but knew nothing about it, or even where to read it/research it. I stumbled upon your videos describing the stories and I have to say I am impressed! Thank you so much for putting these out there! It gives another level of listening to the albums!
THE LIFEGUARD Thank you! I love the comics and stories that go along with the albums and just want to share with as many people as possible. Thanks for watching:)
This is my favorite time line within the coheed and cambria lore! Very rad! Thank you thank you !! ✌🏻much peace and respect from the Southern California desert 🖤
Ascension + Descension are by far my favorite C&C albums, but I never knew the actual story, lol. I still have an old youtube download of all the tracks on a single track that shows the (gorgeous) artwork for each song. It has since been taken down, but I still have it from like 5 years ago :)
Other than Domino the Distitute, The Afterman, and Mothers of Men I don't really come back to ascension very often. There are alot of tracks on Descension I come back to very often. Sentry the Defiant is one of my favorite Coheed and Cambria songs ever made. BTW It's cool that you broke down the story for people like me.
Working my way through this playlist for the first time. Just want to say this is incredibly done and I'm so happy someone finally did this! Some friends and family haven't read the comics yet and these vids are a great run though of it all! See if it helps some of em decide to take the full dive!
Awesomely done. I stumbled across your videos when you'd already done up through Burning Star IV so this is the first of your Coheed videos I've had to wait for and I must say I'm eager for the next one. I love the albums and read much of the comics, but it's hard to find good info on the whole story without all of the legitimate supplemental material... all that to say, thank you for the videos/story recaps, you're doing a wonderful job and your efforts are appreciated.
Thank you for doing these videos! I had a vague idea of the story for the after man but wasn’t 100% since I haven’t been able to get ahold of the coffee table book
Glad I found your channel. I love the lore and graphic novels. I have another channel where I synced up the songs from Apollo. Goosenewmexico. Great job! I love what you did here and are doing! One among the fence!
I'm rewatching all these to get hyped for Vaxis Act II! Are you as excited as I am? Act I was one of the best albums of the last five years, I have crazy high hopes for the next one!
@@JJMetalhead So do I! Claudio has gone in such a different direction with the way he wrote the riffs on those two, I think it's going to be really exciting to hear something unlike anything they've ever done!
Yeah, it was a limited print run and unfortunately they are VERY difficult to come by. I lucked out and found on for resale on Amazon a couple years back. I'd try the Coheed Classifieds on Facebook to see if anyone is selling theirs or maybe just check eBay periodically.
The Entity souls are coming from the Keywork itself. They Keywork is home to a ton of souls that power it and keep all the planets from floating away. I forget what planet he is from since it’s been awhile since I did this video. I believe it’s an Earth-like planet.
I managed to snag a reprint of the deluxe edition which has the storybook in it. I found it randomly as a resale on amazon. I think your best bet would just be to monitor ebay and amazon for if someone decides to sell theirs.
Absolutely love your detailed analysis & explanations of all things Coheed. They’re my favourite band, but there’s still so much to the story that I don’t know. Thanks for all the work you do! My only criticism is that I think you’ll find Sirius is pronounced Sy-rus. Cant wait for Descension!
Yikes! I know I keep missing up the pronunciation of Sirius... Sorry guys!
Honestly... It's no big deal. You nailed the story imo.
I pronounced it like Sirius forever too until I heard Claudio pronounce it like Cyrus he should’ve spelled it that way lol
you cant be Sirius.... (thats how its spelled)

love this, thanks for your interpretation !
I've honestly been waiting for someone to do the Story Explained for the Amory Wars Storyline and I'm stoked for this! Thank you!!
Hey JJ, thanks for these videos. I found them way late but I'm looking forward to the next. Subbed.
The afterman is probably one of my favorite story lines
Ren Decastro same here!

Uncle Phin Thank you! I’ll hopefully have Afterman Descension done sometime next week.
@@JJMetalhead I'll keep my notifications on! :-)
1:20 in and i'm already finding it difficult not imagining this fictional character as anyone other that Claudio

When I hear Evagria the Faithful, I cry. It’s a heartbreaking song/concept.
im literally the only coheed and cambria fan in where i live, glad to know there is more like me lol
Gabriel Mignot Hang in there, you’re not alone 🤘🏻

The sips!!! JJ's trademark!
Man. I hope Claudio Sanchez has gotten help for whatever inspired this series. 😆
Hahaha yeah this one hurt. Lol. But I think he was in a better state of mind writing this one as compared to GAIBSIV
I remember thinking that the Afterman albums were their only concept albums when I first discovered coheed... I was very wrong
You. Are. The. Coolest.
these all are so good
Does anyone know what the term Afterman actually means? As far as it's definition in the story? I've been trying to find out for a long time
My interpretation would be the name that Meri calls Sirius after he left on the mission and never came back.
@@JJMetalhead So someone that leaves and never returns? That's interesting.
@@theremnant216 Yes. Though I guess I would say Afterman is more of a nickname than a term.
Where can i find the story? Tried to buy the book but tbey arent for sale anywhere

Im lost.. What planet did Sirius come from and if he's exploring the keywork for the first time, where are the entity souls coming from?

Haha yes, I recent realized it’s pronounced like Cyrus! 🤦♀️ Thank you for your support!
Did all this information come from the comics? I'm dumb😆😣
Not a dumb question at all! It came from the coffee table book that was released with the album box set.
@@JJMetalhead oh cool. Thank you. I still feel dumb tho🤣
its pronounced like "cyrus" not sirius
I love you
You're beautiful, love these stories, cool shirt and great hair.
