I dont listen to metal music but i have a vest i made myself inspired by 1970's New York street gang/early NY hip hop culture because vests with frayed cut sleeves were what they were wearing back them - Watch the awesome doc " Rubble Kings" and "80 Blocks From Tiffanys" , or the film " The Warriors" .

I stumble across your videos every once in a while and I always find it fascinating how often I read the title of one of your videos and proceed to have identical thoughts as yours on the topic. We both look at and listen to music in a very similar way, which is cool as people in my life find it quite strange sometimes how much I obsess over certain songs and albums. One more thing that appeals to me about concept albums is how often they are based on epics or have a dramatic theme, kind of like the illiad and the odyssey or even stories from the bible.

My buddy and I were actually talking about it earlier today, and our memories both kind of got foggy with some things, because.. there are A LOT of things going on. I came home and looked up their lore to get refreshed and yours was the first one that came up. This is a nice refresher so far. I appreciate this. Thank you. Edit: Just wanted to add, some of the names I had trouble remembering, like.. "Mayo Deftinwolf"... LOL.

Personally. I am obsessed with Hushed and Grim. I cannot seem to stop playing it at home, at the gym, on the way to work, etc. There's just something about it. Especially the first five tracks. I will not skip any of them at all. Feels taboo. It's probably the most fun and most gut wrenching album to lyrically belt out along with. Pain with an Anchor is perfect. The Crux has such a great high and low vibe to it and the bridge is perfect. Sickle and Peace with Dailor's bridge is fun to belt. More than I could chew is probably the best overall track while The Beast comes out of nowhere with a twang that hooks you off the giddy up. Pushing the Tides is a solid anthem. Peace and Tranquility feels like it was written after catching love at first sight on a beach bar in Hawaii.

I always wanted to listen to the sequel. I was 20 when the first one came out. I just never got around to it. And now I don't know what to do. I think I'll start by going to listen to your explanation of Mindcrime. I never read the lyrics or anything. I can understand most of em, but I just wanna hear you talk about em. You're a pretty girl, and intelligent, and you like the right kind of music; you should have a lot of friends. I'd be really surprised if you weren't being a little modest there. I think this is their best record. It has had the most staying power for me, and as a front to back listening experience it holds up best

Throughout your explanation, providing much for me to learn I simultaneously realized that (if your summary is relatively accurate) I wasn't as in the dark on the whole story as I thought. I had so much info from years of heavy listening but in the form of sheds of visuals and emotions rather than coherent complete sentences. I never looked TOO much into understanding what they meant with their tracks, indulging in the mass-understanding of each album I would allow them all to just be something I couldn't copy but be inspired by, rather. I assumed the band would rather have you enjoy and not disect every piece, but regardless of how accurate your description is I truly believe the band would approve of your work. It's impressive and respectful. So, props to you and thanks for giving more access to the world of such an iconic band.
