They hate exploits with the burning fury of a thousand suns. For TOTK they went so far as to force Link to clip through enemies just to stop any sort of slow-mo shield-launching off their heads. They made tapping the sprint button deplete stamina FASTER just to prevent whistle-sprinting. Nothing makes Nintendo saltier than players having fun in unauthorised ways, to the point where they're willing and eager to cripple their own games just to ensure no fun is had.

This was a great challenge! I didn’t think this would be possible due to only having 3 hearts and and the freezing temperatures that kept damaging you.
I remember watching you trying to do this live without the pot lid. The jump to get the claymore was so cool and all of your other tricks to get as far as you did without the pot lid were really brilliant. I think they deserve more credit even if they did get overshadowed by the pot lid in the end.
When I was doing the 1-hit part of the DLC trials, I neglected to put on the full cold weather gear and an ice bat froze me to death. It was annoying, but also kinda funny that the Game Over text came up as blue. :P BTW, it's funny that you're doing the whistle stamina exploit, because it looks like he's blowing on his hands desperately trying to keep warm. 😂

@@Star_II3S i dont have it yet since it ask wood and you spend a lot more time for chop them down than in vanilla (with a axe , with a weapon its even worst). also no fast travel , so you dont rly use your house tbh , mostly relay for sleep (the option for sleep with yellow hearth is turned into bed&breakfast so its cool) , a normal sleep (or waiting) will drain your hunger bar.

The fact that the cold timer pauses but doesn’t reset upon reloading is interesting. I think that’s part of why a certain glitch works, where if you're in freezing water or a hot spring and reload to a save on horseback, the effect of the water will persist.

tl;dr deaths due to (cold:other) damage. Pre-Windblight fight : 25:20 or 55%:44% ; post-Windblight fight: 27:29 or 48%:52% I went through and counted all of the deaths to cold damage vs the number of deaths to any other kind of damage (as measured by whether the game over screen is red or blue. Before trying to fight windblight, Link died 25 times to cold damage and 20 times to other types of damage. Link died 55.55% of the time to cold damage, and 44.44% of the time to non-cold damage. After the windblight fight, the ratio shifted the other way with 27 deaths to cold damage vs 29 deaths to non-cold damage. So 48.21% of the total, overall deaths were due to cold damage, and 51.78% of deaths were to non-cold damage. All of this is not counting resets, as they do not give a game over screen. Yes, I counted all of the game overs in the death montages, including the10x9 (minus 7) grid.
i think the insta kill boss glitch requires a lot of precision for the blights because i spent a while trying to practice the glitch for speedrunning but wasn't able to get it i did calamity just fine though
Also there is no cutscene in Vah Medoh when fighting windblight when you reactivate it, so there is no cutscene time for windblight to take damage from the arrow. That's why windblight skip doesn't work even in Hyrule Castle with the correct setup if you skip the cutscene.

I am currently doing a slateless run, and I am quite curious. There of course many places where the slate makes things much easier, but I wonder which hurdles can be overcome with glitches, exploits, and tech, etcetera, and which cannot.
There's an indie game called Minit where you get, appropriately enough, one minute per life and have to explore one life at a time. It's interesting how the cold timer being 10 seconds per damage point + 3 hearts essentially recreates that experience in a completely different context.
