I have been working on doing this very thing....slowing down and being intentional with my life and time...Greetings from Canada. I dumped my social media accounts and I have begun to write short stories, drink hot tea.....and a half hour walk to begin my day,
I agree w/ every point u made!! for reference...I'll be 69 this coming Jan.. And what I've come to understand about life is 1: U will directly reflect what ur mind ingests! Understand that the majority of social media/news is contrived to elicit an emotional response & is always based on an agenda. If u must watch negative content, limit ur time & take the time to do your own research on what was presented...i.e.: understand the facts. 2: Get outside....even in the cold & rain...walk....It's great for ur body & ur mind. I walk 5 miles 5 days a week....one of the best things I've ever done for myself. 3: Learn something new and challenging each week... Challenge ur mind & beliefs... research and dig deep. 4: Creat w/ ur hands and mind....paint; draw; write; build something; fish; play golf (even if u suck @ it which I do)... the point is....positively engage ur mind & body, be open to & embrace new learning opportunities and be ur own confident person....not one of the masses.
What a wonderful & wise comment! I especially like what you say about walking even when it's cold and wet. It's often moving through voluntary physical discomfort that causes our minds and bodies to flourish the most in the long run
I already use a few of these great tips, one thing I try to do as often as possible is not to have any screen time an hour before bed, turn everything off and have a nice cup of tea and enjoy the silence and some darkness, I liken this to how maybe cowboys may have just sat outside the ranch and looked out across the plains late at night. great video Kat
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment 🤗 This is something I used to do but have fallen out of the habit for some time...the picture you paint makes me feel so inspired to get back to those quiet nights! 🤠🌛
Hi! I am writing from Germany and I discovered your channel 'cos I'll walk the WHW next year (the second time and my fourth time in Scotland...great country), BUT I am writing 'cos I like your idea of "ME-time" and slowing down! Humans like to walk because they are having a chance to return to their own rhythm and own rhythm means healing...a very good "Me-time" idea (and my way ;-) ) is to slow down is comfy sitting with big cup of tea and just enjoying the warm fluid running down the throat...and....painting with water colours....painting landscapes is a holiday! Thank you very much for sharing your ideas and enjoy your "pre"-christmas time. Best regards from a already subscriber.
Aw amazing, I hope you have the best time on the trail! There's nothing quite like a hot cup of tea ☕ and I agree, watercolour painting is so relaxing too 🤗🖌️🎨
Too few of us feel we have a choice regarding how much time and energy we spend in exchange for the means to live! Nevertheless, I’d suggest not to automatically accept a routine that’s slowly killing you. Some of us may have more options than meet the eye. Even if one feels trapped in an exhausting routine, some of the habits Kat wisely suggests can help gain a perspective that could ultimately enable a person to perceive previously unseen opportunities and ultimately steer a course to a more sustainable work/life balance.
Thank you for your insight, I wholeheartedly agree with what you say about "more options than meet the eye." It's sadly true that it's harder for some to slow down than others but as you say, it's more accessible than many believe.
Great encouragement and good ideas for new activities to try. Valuable time spent. I agree about the walking. Thanks from U.S. Stay warm and Merry Christmas
I think maybe unconsciously (or consciously) I migrate towards spending more time with those friends who are also operating on a slower frequency and I can be at ease with not feeling like I should be doing more, should be busy busy busy, that I’m wasting time and I’m not productive enough etc spending time with those that let you feel comfortable in a slower, restful phase is also helpful I find - another thought provoking video thank you 🤍 and one that’s hugely helpful as we head into a season of encouraged and often expected busyness 🎄that is not always so good for our wellbeing x
That's an interesting idea, I hadn't thought about that before! And you're so right about the festive season, I feel torn between wanting to pack it with lovely Christmas activities but also not wanting to get overwhelmed by doing too much 🤔
