Not true for King Ranger, he was the strongest until the very end.
Power Rangers preach a game that's all about teamwork...but as it turns out in the Sixth Ranger's case, joining a team gets you nerfed.
Truth
One thing that is worth noticing. While there is some talk here and there, the writers in older PR seasons didn't feel the need to have the Rangers talk through the ENTIRE fight like they do these days. If a scene from the Sentai footage did not include much talking, then it woudn't get many lines in the PR version either. I feel like these days people think that kids are so dumb that if you don't have the character say something every 10th second, they will change channel. Its really annoying.
If this particular scene had been adapted today, we would have lines like:
"Here is my golden handshake!"
"You can't defeat me! I am good as gold!"
"Looks like I win the gold medal!"
and so on.
Go back and watch this channel's video of the MMPR Green Ranger/Zyuranger comparison. Tommy had dozens of pointless exposition lines that didn't exist in the Sentai version. What you're describing is not a new phenomenon at all.

Power Rangers seemed to have more of its own footage during this period, even though they weren't in the MMPR costumes. I like how Power Rangers made their show unique and didn't just rip footage from Sentai exclusively.
Season 2-3 was when original footage started to be shot. Then they finally made a suit switch along with zords in season 4. This allowed the Japanese production to shoot additional American footage easier since they had all the costumes ready.

This is totally inaccurate. The exclusive Ranger footage from this period was purely from the American side. It was made by Alpha Stunts head by Sakamoto Koichi who joined around the time of the so called "Alien Rangers" era. Alpha Stunts has stayed with Power Rangers ever since and Sakamoto Koichi about a decade ago or so has gone on to Japan to make the Sentai series and other Toei Japanese superhero shows himself. The only time when Toei themselves made any exclusive for use in Power Rangers was Zyu2.

It's still the Japanese footage, they reused it in different parts, it's not noticeable when you watch the show but if you watch carefully this video you will notice it.For instance, where they supposedly dropped from the megazord it's still the same scene at the beginning when the monster overpowers them and they fall.

13:05-13:09-- Saban could have easily edited those movements out, as well as the shots in which she fires from bad spots, and only show her fighting with her fists, feet, or whip, and if she did fire, they could have simply replaced the inappropriate shots with original footage of her firing from any appropriate place or her whip. PR has shown more inappropriate-looking monsters over the years (in both Sentai and PR-original footage), such as Queen Bansheera's final form.
BTW, the second monster in this clip clearly fired a white sheet from her stomach, not her crotch area.

Man, I remember how AMPED I was when I heard Brad Hawkins’ voice and thought/assumed was going to be Gold Ranger because he’s so OP fighting in VR Troopers, only to be later confused and completely disappointed that another guy was in his place before Austin St. John returned.
This shows how American shows always need to jump cut edit even when it's unnecessary.
Those who don't know...the guy who played the Gold Ranger also played Ryan Steele on VR Troopers.

After Jason came along, then he took over the voice during fights.
lol I like it when the Ohrangers say "He's really strong". As if that wasn't obvious from the way he's walking through the guys that you struggled to defeat like 2 minutes ago.
On a sidenote the King Ranger/Gold Ranger costume is one of my faves of all. The black goes well, and the gold shield/accents go amazing.

Thanks for making this. Gold Ranger Zeo is my all time favorite. I have the most recent American rot and I also bought the Japanese king ranger with gold chrome looking shield and bazooka and yesterday I got the 8 inch gold ranger with the staff whirling and sounds and action.

Super Sentai was shot on film at 24 fps. This gives a much more nostalgic feeling than the American Power Rangers 30 fps footage.

The transformation sequence of Riki/KingRanger (played by Shouji Yamaguchi) is the same as the OhRangers/King Rangers. "Chouriki Henshin!!! (Super-Powered Transformation!!!)" The color of KingRanger in OhRanger is black with gold as contrast to what Saban appiled as the Gold Ranger (later revealed to be Riki's counterpart Trey of Triforia). He was 600,000,000 Years Old in 1999 (now 600,000,018 in 2017). He has a weapon called King Stick/Golden Power Staff in which the finisher is King Victory Flash. In mecha/zord fight, Bara Goblin/Wolfbane overpowered OhRanger Robo/Zeo Megazord and Red Puncher/Red Battlezord until it was defeated by King Pyramider's Super Burn Wave/Pyramidas' Lightning Attack. But, Machine Beast Tamer Keris/Quelis had taken Riki and Paku away right into the dimension. Bara King/Altor had battled the OhRangers who believed that Riki is now evil. But, Riki and Paku had just got out of the dimension to save Dorin (played by Risa/Lisa Wada) and the OhRangers from the attacks made by Bara King and Keris/Quelis. It's a shame that Shouji Yamaguchi and Risa/Lisa Wada did not return in Kaizoku Sentai Goukaijaa (Pirate Squadron Gokaiger/Heroic Rangers) in 2011. Brad Hawkins voiced Trey of Triforia/Gold Ranger in Power Rangers Zeo.
This is telling me one thing: We REALLY need to see someone release the original Super Sentai plots for American audiences. These are very interesting to see for why the PR shows got extremely corny at times, and how dark some of the plotlines were. Wonder if you can find the original episodes anywhere now, or if someone did an official release of them.

I love how in Japanese The Tiger Ranger from Dairanger(white ranger in US) and the King Ranger from OhRanger(Gold Ranger in US) were both kids. Kou(white) was 10 & Riki(gold) was 12. Even though Riki is 1,000+ years old but didn’t age from being frozen just like the Zyuurangers

It’s crazy how MMPR used the original Japanese footage for 95% of their fights. They also used different Zords, Rangers, & costumes from other sentai series but placed them all in the MMPR series and kept that series running longer. They used the costumes and Megazord from Zyuuranger for MMPR season 1. Season 2 they used ONLY the Tiger Ranger costume(didn’t use the 5 other ranger costumes) & the zords(thunder zord & white tiger zord) from Dairanger. Season 3 they used the ninja mode outfits(cloth outfit with hoody up), Ninjor, & the Ninja Falcon Megazord… but they all were in MMPR. That’s why I tell people all the time now when MMPR is brought up to watch the REAL Japanese sentai versions starting with Zyuuranger and you’ll love it even more. MMPR had a seeet opening though, can’t deny that 🤣🤣🤣 but I prefer Dairanger opening theme way more though & Zyuuranger theme…

A funny thing was...when PR Zeo aired in Germany you could as normal buy the toys of course..but we for some reason we got the Gold Zeo morpher..wish was never shown or used oin Power ranger Zeo. so i was kinda confused when i got that one for Christmas because i din´t´know it existed ^^

MMPR1 - 9th grade - Freshman year
MMPR 2 -10th grade - Sophomore year
MMPR 3- 11th grade - Junior year
Zeo- 12th grade - Senior year
Turbo - graduation

- There is NOTHING that suggests the age of consent in Japan is 10, or that sex is socially accepted at 10, stop spreading misinformation.
- Each prefecture in Japan is given the right to set their own age of consent, but cannot set this below the age of 13. That doesn't mean that the age of consent in Japan IS 13. There are also other laws in place that protect minors from having sexual relations with adults.
- The age of consent allowed to be as low as 13 is partially a traditional leftover from the 1800's, and also because the Japanese have historically treated their teenagers as adults socially.
- In multiple studies done, the average age of losing your virginity in Japan is between 18 - 20 years old, which is higher than countries like the US and the UK, which averages at around 16 - 17 years old.
- Teen pregnancy in Japan is also drastically lower than in western countries.
- Super Sentai is not adult orientated at all. The differences merely reflect different cultural values for what is acceptable for children, which westerns confuse as "adult orientated", "serious", or "dark."
- Finally, age of consent has nothing to do with why Super Sentai may seem "adult orientated" to westerners. I'm not sure why this was even brought into the conversation.

Not sure why Power Rangers can afford original footages for rangers vs monster battle, but cannot do the same for megazord vs giant monster. I mean, it's just putting people inside rubber suit and uses very little special effects, both of which are dirt cheap and easily made with Saban's money. Because so far, every megazord battles just seem like dumbed down version of sentai mecha battles.
+satria amiluhur Saban now can with what they are doing with Dino Charge they can afford the rights to own the costumes and Mechas Super Sentai has. Reason they couldn't in the past is because again how expensive it is to ship all the original Mechas and costumes to New Zealand to shoot. Also because Super Sentai finished their series almost a 1 and a half before Saban can start working on Power Rangers most of the costumes, props, and Mechas is being moved around in Japan so Saban would have a hard time tracking all of the original stuff. With Saban having now the fair rights to own Super Sentai they can now fully have the capabilities to make their own footage even if the Super Sentai is finished 1 and half years finished.
Bottom line is financial and copyright negotiating between Toei and Saban.
+rangersentaiguy2 Saban always had the robot costumes, it's just that the crew didn't have the expertise or an urban battleground set to use them in, so they just never made Zord footage unless they really had to and could shoot them outdoors in a desert.
Tempora158 certain season they had them. Not all seasons.
keep in mind that in the past the production was done in California so the costs of shipping the necessary zord stuff is a lot more expensive than it would be to just ship to New Zealand on top of which they had to build their own miniature sets and would usually need to build a new one every time they wanted to shoot an original zord scene. Nowadays they don't even need the suits they can just CGI the zords since generally the zords are a mixture of suits and CGI. They started the CGI stuff on the Sentai side of things as of Gaoranger (that's Wild Force for us) but it was just for the individual zords when it got extended to the Megazords I'm not really sure. Also Tempora you're partially correct it's true they didn't have the expertise with filming with the suits that Toei had which is why they kept it to a minimum but it's also true what rangersentai said they didn't get every suit. Toei typically sent them what they could but there were unknown issues with the zord suits. Zyuranger zord suits were never sent to California for obvious reasons Saban was never going to produce original footage of them. Thunder Megazord and Tigerzord Warrior Mode both from Dairanger were the only ones that we know they had and as for Kakuranger? it's only known they had the individual Shogunzords. Ohranger? as far as we're aware none of them were sent to California.

I don't know what video source the Ohranger clips are from, but the video colouring from that Jetix recording looks so much better side by side to the sentai scene. I wonder if they oftern altered colours of the sentai footage when using it on Power Rangers
in PR they use a lot of saturation and sometimes darken the edits of the original footage for their use.

Nobody would care about her looks as long as Saban would edit out her inappropriate acts. Besides, the giant fight with her and Altor's Ohranger counterpart was the only time outside of the Ohranger vs. Kakuranger film in which King Pyramider Carrier Formation was ever used, and Saban blatantly wasted that opportunity.
