Summed up my experience too. M3P on 19 inch cross climate 2s. They will handle it pretty much anything thrown at them. As you correctly stated you won’t gain any range by going down a size running these, you end up in roughly the same place as the 20 inch OEMs. Ride is miles better, although you do lose some sharpness when pushing on, but that won’t matter to most people. Your swapping process identical to mine too. Great vid 👌👌

Snap! Coming upto 40k miles on my CC2 set in UK after one f/b swap.
Ive tried to get stuck in the snow two years on the trot now and failed miserably 😆 ⛄️❄️🥶. Its crazy how good these tyres are, that uneasy feeling when driving in heavy rain at high speed or in sub zero icey road conditions has gone. Deep snow on the road and travelling on ungritted roads, up/down hills etc. ive left SUV struggling to climb a snowy hill while my car takes it with ease…. They look pretty cool too 👌

Personal experience on my YLR on oem 255/45R19 tires...
    Original continentals: 18k miles.
2nd set OEM conti: 22k miles with mostly using CHILL MODE.
3rd set: Michelin CC2s (best michelin tires i owned in 25 yr a of driving in all road conditions of California): 40k miles (inner part was 2/32 but rest of the tire was 5/32 vs 10/32 when it was brans new). In another words, i spent $1k on CC2 (prorated) every 40k miles. I do alignment every 6k miles and rotations every 3k miles on all my EV.
4th set: CC2 again (1k miles on it so far) since 50% of my driving is dry vs 30% wet vs 20% snow/ice.
Range Hit: CC2 on my Y vs oem conti gave me a 12% hit in range doing several 50 mile loop test on autopilot set at 73 mph in 40F outside temp.

I don't live in a State where it gets very cold, but from my experience, dedicated tires for specific seasons is definitely the way to go. Being that I live in a really warm state, I usually always run summer tires, although, I do hate how bad they are with longevity and ride comfort.

to those thinking in getting the CC2 in their MY with 19s’, fitment is a little off. bead isn’t completely flushed to the rim. not bad if you have aftermarket hub caps but very noticeable in stock covers. little disappointed. wish i’ve gone the hankook route instead

  • @TheMacmyday
    @TheMacmyday Місяць тому

My MYL came with Hankook Ventus summer tires. Despite the foam, the noise was quite high and the ride was harsh. Then I switched to 19“ Goodyear All Season Vector 4, Gen 3, bought them online. They have no Tesla „endorsement“ (T0,1,2-rating) and no foam inside. The guy at the garage was concerned that I would be disappointed. Heck no! They are awesome. Much less noise and a much softer ride. It feels like driving a much better car, almost like the difference between the old M3 and M3 Highland. I don‘t know about the Michelin and they might be as good but I can only recommend considering to go all-season. Great and safe ride, much better at higher speeds that the Hankooks, less noise (on average -3dB) and no need to swap tires two times per year. That being said, I don‘t know how long they will last and consumption might be a little higher than with the OEM summer tires but that‘s not clear yet.

    MYP
Falken 460. 275 front 295 Rear. Love the look of the stance and the style of the tire. Will by again
    OEM tires lasted 34500 miles.
    Falken 20,000 miles 25% used.
One thing that I have noticed is that the rear camber is not affecting these tires as much as the OEM tires

Hey J, what all season tires are you putting on your 2024 M3P? I live near Seattle and just bought a red 24M3P, and rarely (if ever) drive in snow. I'm tired of swapping summer and winter tires, and since CC2s don't fit the stock 20" wheels, heading into winter I'm thinking of selling the summer Pirelli's the car came with and buying Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 Plus. You think that's the best A/S tire for our car?

Jeremiah, just watching your video. I am waiting for my 2024 M3P to arrive. My plan is to remove the wheels and tires. I live in Wisconsin and summer tires will not work. I also do not want to deal with not being able to rotate the tires. I am thinking to downgrade to 19" wheels and purchase the Michelin cross climate 2 tires. What are your thoughts on downgrading to 19". Do you have any suggestions on wheels that will work well with the performance model in the 19" size. Also, are there any calibrations that will be needed due to downsizing the wheels and going 4 square? Your help is appreciated.

Like the idea of the tires for upcoming winter.. Was looking to get rims elsewhere to fit the Model 3 performance rims and its tricky. Apparently there is a stepped hub and other things to consider like brake clearance? Tire rack apparently only offers 19 or 20" but includes 18" for the non-performance models... Perhaps other oem tesla rims don't work on performance models either?

Do we know if it will come with "all weather tires" in the fall? I am not sure if I should sell the summer tires and then go with a 20' all season , or have 2 sets (winter and summer sets)- and if so, should I get different rims ('19) with different tires maybe 245/40/19 or 245/35/19 with the winter set?
