I think for me watching Missandei be freed, only to die in chains is one of the most heartbreaking things I've seen on the show. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Even Ned executed an innocent Brother of the Nightswatch, eventhough he only wanted to warn them ... because it was his duty... and so is it Daenerys' duty! So yeah Dany... DRACARYS! Almost every single being in Kingslanding has earned to burn, because they bowed to Cersei... the real MAD QUEEN! Burn down the Red Keep and get your revenge... and let Drogon have his revenge for his fallen Brothers! So honor Missandei's will and the will of every single friend you lost and avenge them! As much as it hurts to see Dany in this predicament, I like how furious she is. Because it's left to interpretation whether it's Targaryen madness or just a mother's fury. With what's going on, of course she's going to react like this. She's alone and she feels her claim crumbling. She's lost her two best friends, Jorah and Missandei, and another child. A mother's grief can burn down the world. And as a Daenerys follower since day 1, I think it should. I've always known she wasn't going to end up on the throne but I hope Drogon gets to eat Cersei and Euron, and burn down King's Landing to splinter Westeros back into seven kingdoms. Aegon forged it, Dany should break it. Rhaegal was my favorite dragon. He was so sweet. I was so worried for him last episode, so glad to see him in the promo for this one. Seeing him fall broke my heart. Dracarys, indeed.

She should have marched to King's Landing immediately, sieged the city, blocked the sea and burnt just the walls with soldiers. No need to burn the city or the people. And then, ask for Cersei to surrender. Now it's a little too late for that.

And I don't think Jaime is leaving because he loves Cersei, he's leaving because he loves Brienne. He understands that Cersei brings out the worst in him. He also sees her going down the Mad Queen route + he loves his brother. Jaime has been known to go against Cersei when Tyrion's safety is on the line. I think he realized what he had to do and he doesn't expect to survive.

She looked exactly how expected from losing her dragons, her armies and her best friend. She is enraged! Does that mean she needs to burn everything to gain that stupid throne??? NO! Why is it bad writing to kill Rheagal and Messandei? The only bad writing was how they killed them (specially Rheagal). This will not have a good ending for Dany and if you thought it would be otherwise, you haven't paid attention throughout the show. Also I don't think George RR Martin will do it otherwise, maybe how it happens, but in the end the result will be the same.

I'm bad at English, but I've been watching your reactions since the summer of this year, it's really nice to see the impression of such a nice person, who so loving Dany. This woman sacrificed her interests for other people: she freed people from slavery all these years, although she could just come to Westeros. She refused to attack capital because he did not want the death of civilians. She fought with the Night King instead of trying to overthrow Cersei off the Throne. "Mad Queen Dany" doesn't make sense. If that happens, I will hate this show with all my heart. I will always love Daenerys, and if she becomes "the Mad Queen," it will be completely contrary to her character and history. A stranger with a huge weapon. The only way she will get Cersei off the throne is if she kills all the civilians to do it. And if she kills all the civilians to do it, she will never be accepted as Queen. I think she is right. Her destiny is to rid the world of tyrants. But she will have to become a tyrant to beat Cersei. Her story arc is meant to he tragic I think.

Did you see the way he was looking at her in the bed before he left - he cares so much about her, he knows the only way she and everyone else will be safe is to take Cersei out. He's most definitely going to King's Landing to try and kill Cersei, he just didn't want Brienne going after him. He did the same thing Tyrion did with Shae!
Cersei knows it perfectly well. That is her plan - to lure enraged Daenerys and her last dragon into the trap and have the last dragon killed. That's why the smile. If Daenerys attacks now - she will be dead.
So Dany worked 6 seasons to form the "biggest army in the world" to have it all destroyed in 2 episodes - the dothraki were sent to their deaths in the dark in the most pointless charge ever, most of the unsullied died protecting the northerners' retreat standing in FRONT of the trench instead of behind it, and the rest died thanks to euron's ninja fleet And she gets her second dragon offed also thanks to Euron's ninja skills (how did Dany not see the fleet from where she was ?? and the writers in the "inside the episode" video said she "forgot" about the fleet despite it being included in the battle plans 10 minutes before ??) k seems legit
Honestly it just makes me think they wrote themselves in a corner, because they needed a conflict with Cersei, but if Dany still had her army mostly intact it would be over in 2 minutes So they had to find a way to even the odds and they did it via incredibly stupid battle tactics (who tf sends light cavalry in the dark against 100k enemies ?) and horrible writing
Yea it's weird like when Dany went to Westeros it has felt like stalling and stalling where they came up with the whole White Walkers in Winterfell thing so she would lose a lot of her army. Even going to Dragonstone in Season 7 was weird because if you look at the map Dragonstone is very close to King's Landing. like it's crazy close. It is baffling why wouldn' you directly attack KL when it's your neighbour basically. Dany should have forgotten about Dragonstone and go directly to KL. The writers did incredible gymnastics. And I have no idea how George is going to do that in the books. But it has felt phony and not very realistic.
I don't know if Daenerys is going down the Mad Queen route but she's definitely lost her temper. And in that anger she may do things she will regret the rest of her days. Not because of Cersei or Euron or any of them, but all the innocents that get caught in between. That's how she has always dealt with grief, by going ballistic. Her face at the end… that's doom personified.
Here’s my take: I don’t think Dany is crazy. She has however had an immense amount of losses. Her impulsivity and needing to be pulled back at times has been a thru line going all the way back to season 4 at the latest. She was gonna have Daario do something and Jorah talked her out of it. Now she lost her two best friends, half her army, two of her dragons and she feels like Sansa et al are plotting on her, which isn’t exactly wrong. Up until she got to westeros, she’s pretty much never lost. She just swept thru essos pretty easily and she’s finding out over this season and last that westeros is REAL different. I’m personally enjoying the arc because holy shit is Emilia Clarke playing the absolute hell out of it. Best work I’ve ever seen her do over the series.

And would you really say that ALL of Dany’s acts throughout seven entire seasons are ‘monstrous’? Would you say that freeing slaves and trying to keep the peace in Meereen is ‘monstrous’? no. Poor writing on D&D’s part has forced Dany into a position where she loses everything she’s ever cared about purely for shock value and so that they have an excuse to (probably) have Jon kill her off by the end. Again, just for shock value. Not because it’s ‘good storytelling’ or doing Daenerys’ character justice. D&D obviously don’t care about being good storytellers anymore than they care about shock value for audiences. They even admitted themselves that the only reason they had Arya kill the NK was because no one was expecting Arya to be the one to do it.

Stop blaming everything on D&D and write GRRM to tell him to finish what he started. He's missed his self imposed deadlines for over a decade now. He said himself he is struggling with writing TWOW. It's unnecessarily fattened with secondary characters and subplots that have no relevance to the main story. This was originally a trilogy that ballooned into more than 7 books. Place blame where it belongs. The story is the same.
jdsthird the story might be the same for Dany’s outcome. But you have to admit that at least GRRM would make it logical and make sense. The deaths of Rhaegal and Missandei were hugely unnecessary and it’s so obvious that the writers are picking the ‘better’ endings for THEIR favourite characters. Personally, I’m hating Sansa more and more every episode yet I know that strictly because she’s one of D&D’s favourite characters, she’ll probably be happy by the end.

when Jaime learned that Cersei had destroyed Dany's ships that is when he deciced to go there probably to end Cersei. But since it's a suicide mission, he probably knows he may die and so he came up with some lie so she would not follow him

I am sad to see you so upset by the direction of Daenerys' and her story line. For me personally I LOVE the fact that they are going the Mad Queen route, because I feel they have been leading up to that for several seasons with their "should she have shown more mercy? Was it right that she burned/killed that person/those people?" moments, but it breaks my heart that you feel so upset about it. I guess if I had loved Daenerys as much as you did I might not like it either, but.... yeah, I don't know that ANYONE could possibly love Daenerys as much as you do, lmao. It's kind of adorable

She doesn't have a legitimate claim to the throne and she knows that now. It was foreshadowed in the earlier seasons (and books) that she'd never sit on the throne and that KL would be ashes. Go home to Mereen and stay there. She led people to their slaughter for power hungry reasons. That's tyrannical. She's straight up cray cray like her brother and father. Always has been. I see what's there. I don't follow characters blindly because they have dragons and occasionally do good things by accident. She is a good character that people can identify with but like all other characters she is complex and layered. Not entirely perfect. Flawed and human. That's how GRRM writes his characters.

It's not stupid. We're watching and reading the same material. You see what you want to see, just like I do. GRRM does not write good and bad characters, they are all flawed. No one is a goody two shoes no matter how much we want our favs to be.
Right there with you. I was so mad watching what they were doing to Danys character. I just don't believe it. The thing that pulls me through is that right from the start, she always needed reigning back a bit, and there have been a few time that people have doubted her, but she always does the right thing at the last moment. However after Rheagal and Missande, I now hope she burns them all. Have faith George, she will come good in the end I'm sure. I feel like she will eventual come to realize she has a bigger destiny than the throne.
Probably an unpopular opinion here, but I really like what they're doing with Dany's arc. She's started off powerless and having her fair share of losses; then from Season 3 onwards she's started gaining everything; and now that's she's grown used to power it's falling apart again. It's interesting to see what that does to a character, just comparing Dany from three seasons ago to the one of Season 8. That's why I don't like the 'Mad Queen' comments that are popping up: everyone could see that if Dany ever lost her dragons, or now literally everyone who's close to her, she would snap and lash out, because they were her pillars since the start. Nothing mad about that; it's justified rage and fear, no different from anyone else who has lost people on this show - which is pretty much everyone. The only difference is, Dany has the power to do a lot of damage when she's angry, and that could end up costing everyone.

I hate to tell you this George, but I think the reason you were having a hard time putting it into words is because you were being irrational and couldn't come up with a solid reasons for why you're feeling what you're feeling, other than Dany being your favorite. Being such a ride or die Dany lover was a strength of you channel and made you endearing, but it's also your biggest weakness now. Because it seems unless they treat her perfectly and make her this pure, virtuous, ultimate winner in the end, you're going to lose your mind. It's a big show, with a lot of great characters, but you hitched your wagon to just one of the them, 100%. So you basically set yourself up for this
do you know what i do agree partially with what you're saying, my issue isn't with Dany's evolution its the writing off it, D&D wanted this to end quickly and there has been no time to build on her character, had they done another season or two of full 10 episodes, they could have explored this, and her delve into darkness or into whatever she is becoming, but they didn't, they did it in 2 episodes, it just doesn't make sense where all these "i worry about her mental state" where does that even come from , at what point between winds of winter and now , has she really lost her mind, shes done nothing but fight her enemies, , that's my issue
@@GeorgeAlexander3110 I think the worries about her started way back in season 4, with Ser Baristan when she crucified the masters. These are people who are quite familiar with her father. Their concerns didn't hatch out of nowhere. And she still has the chance to prove them wrong. In fact I think there's a good chance she will. she still has a good heart and while she can be justifyably vengeful and fierce, she can still keep things under control
(A wishful theory) The day is bright, the remaining forces of the North, the Unsullied and the Dothraki are stationed outside of Kings Landing, suddenly a storm approaches, darkening the day and engulfing everyone in a chilly mist. From the darkness, out walks the Night King, resurrected by Bran by altering the past as he did with Hodor. The Night King and his generals approach Jon, he extends his frost blue hand and Jon reluctantly shakes his hand, then a dragon screech. An undead Rhaegal flies in and fires blue flames at the Lannister ballistas, the odds are now even. The Night King created again for the same purpose, destroy men, destroy Kings Landing.
Sucks to see your favourite character's arc not go the way you wanted. That's how a lot of people felt about Jon snow last episode, and how I've felt about Tyrion for a good few seasons now, so now at least you'll be able to understand how a lot of people felt.
Jaime isn't going back to Cersei. He's going back to stop Cersei and end it. And as awful as it was, he had to stop Brienne from coming with him. He knows he is going to die. He doesn't want her to die too. He loves her.

I love your reactions so much, not just because they're great and consistent (unlike the continuity of some things recently but I digress...), but also because they reflect how caring of a person you are. I love how angry you got on behalf of Brienne after you saw how what Jaime said upset her (and I couldn't believe he was actually seriously going back to Cersei not to kill her, but go back to her. I don't get it. Anyway...) and then how you offered D&D help. But anyway I keep rewatching yours for moments like that. So meaningful and heartfelt like, just the same emotions as so many of us. Last season I cursed D&D for what they did to Dany's character. I could already see the transition from empathy to power hungry. But I've realized something in this season. This is who Dany really is without Jorah. Think about the past. Think about all the mistakes that she came close to making that were sort of mad in and of themselves. And remember that it was always Jorah who talked her out of that madness. When she burned one of the heads of family in Mereen, Jorah wasn't there. When she wanted to burn down all the slaver ships and their kingdoms, Jorah was not there. And when she burned Sam's father and brother, Jorah wasn't there. Jorah has been the best advisor that Dany could ever ask for. He loved her, believed in her, cared about her sincerely, and he was able to control her worst impulses. Now Jorah is gone. And Dany is left on her own to be who she is.

Maybe Dario was right when he told her "You're not a ruler... you're a conqueror." I agree with that statement. As far her being a woman, I don't think that's why the audience question her abilities at all. Stannis was criticized. Euron and Bailon were criticized. Robert was questioned. Joffrey was most certainly questioned, as was Roose Bolton. They were all criticized for the same reasons as Dany... for their actions.
I'm right there with you Dude. All of this concern over Dany's behavior when she is leaps and bounds above the last 5 monarchs even with all of her flaws. I love Jon but sitting the throne is his worst freaking nightmare. All Dany wanted to do was go home and they are treating her like shit. It's so sad.
I'm actually proud of Dany for not looking away when Missandei was executed. At that situation you have to savor the pain and anger. It reminds me of the last time someone murdered a person that is deeply close to Daenerys, that woman was tied up in public and was slowly burned alive. And I agree with you, I'm gonna be so pissed when a Stark sits on the IT. They're all a bunch of xenophobics and users. I'm not even sure if they thanked Dany for her help. Ned would be ashamed of his children.
Dany has always been my favorite fictional character. She is the best written morally grey character that I relate to so much. House Targaryen has always been my favorite house. and watching this last season where David and Dan have completely taken her arc and ruined it for the sake of a 'mad queen' storyline or so a man can sit on the throne, is so frustrating and disheartening. I fucking hate it and I know you and every dany stan does as well. We are all about to be very disappointed with the end of this show I can already tell and it's so sad. Team Targaryen deserves so much better.
However...point of interest here...Tyrion might have just fucked up Cersei’s plans without knowing it. He let on that he knew Cersei is pregnant....and if Euron is paying attention he must have picked up that if Tyrion knows about the baby...then Cersei pregnancy timeline can’t make sense. How could Tyrion know? Unless someone else close to Cersei told him...like a certain brother....but he left Kings Landing before Euron and Cersei started banging. So Euron might now realize he can’t be the father...
The evilness of Cersei knows no bounds. Tyrion and Jamie are Cersei's family (the family who murdered her own) and literally stood directly to Daenerys but Dany didn't even made an example of them in public and kill them. Cersei the moment she got her hands on someone close to Dany she beheads her in public. Huh. See the difference?
The idea of Dany going mad isn't the issue for me. It's that there has been little to no build up to it. It's just happening all at once, so it feels forced and rushed. Had the writers set it up more organically and gradually over time, then yeah, sure, I could buy into it. But what we're getting instead feels sloppy and contrived. Honestly, between this and the poor handling of the Night King/White Walkers storyline, I have lost all faith in the writing this season. I don't think it can be salvaged with only two episodes to spare. Literally the only episode I liked was episode 2, and even that feels meaningless in retrospect.

Dany is one of the most amazing characters, she went through so much, came a long way for this ?? they are just pushing her character to go the negative way. She lost her Dothraki, the Unsullied, Viserion, Rhaegal, Joran and now Missandei. Varys and Tyrion will switch sides eventually. But tell me, is there any battle that doesn't have casualties ? Dany was being nice to most of them all this time and all we hear is how people are just hating her more. She should've burned them way before.
I love the madness of her character actually. Puts so much drama and thrill into the series. It’d be boring if she was the one set up as the hero and then actually he hero, right? Also I don’t think Jaime is gonna fight for Cercei but kill her
I feel like Daenerys hasn't suddenly turned - there's always been hints of it and there's been multiple occasions where other characters have had to talk her down. She can be incredibly generous, loving and inspiring when things are going well, but from the second she got dragons she hasn't responded well to any sort of adversity. Look at some of the examples: - Barristan had to talk her down from executing a Son of the Harpy with no trial in 5x02 - She had a head of Mereen family who by her own admission may have had nothing to do with Barristan's death burned alive in 5x05 - Jon and Tyrion had to talk her out of destroying King's Landing in 7x04 - She burned the Tarlys alive in 7x05 (leading to the first conversation between Tyrion/Varys about her mindset) She's always had this in her, and I think it's been done really well and with subtlety. The signs have always been present if you looked for them and now, having lost her 2 "children" and two closest allies (Jorah and Missandei) in quick succession, she's completely lost and desolate, with no one to curb her worst tendencies. I think it's great writing.
I can’t stand people that say that Daenerys’ only goal since season 1 is the Iron Throne. Her deepest desire has always been to return home and find a family, a place where she can be safe and loved. D&D were supposed to know this, to know and understand the characters ...but this episode proves they don’t. I hate them so much now
Honestly guys, I think it's been quite obvious that Dany would go down this route. She's shown signs of madness as early as season 4 even if they weren't exactly clear back then. It became more evident as the show went on but I think your love for her has blinded you. However I still think there's time for her to avoid it.
I love how Dany is the Mad Queen when Cersei has blown up hundreds of innocent people...if you saw when she blew up the Baelor, innocents died that day not just the High Sparrow...
Her path was laid out from early on. She has been getting more madder and madder with each season. Yes she freed slaves, but she also done it with ruthless abandon even against what many have advised against. She rarely listens to her advisors then she gets mad and does what she wants anyway. For those surprised at the "mad queen turn", you all haven't been paying attention.
I think for me watching Missandei be freed, only to die in chains is one of the most heartbreaking things I've seen on the show. Absolutely heartbreaking.

As much as it hurts to see Dany in this predicament, I like how furious she is. Because it's left to interpretation whether it's Targaryen madness or just a mother's fury. With what's going on, of course she's going to react like this. She's alone and she feels her claim crumbling. She's lost her two best friends, Jorah and Missandei, and another child. A mother's grief can burn down the world. And as a Daenerys follower since day 1, I think it should. I've always known she wasn't going to end up on the throne but I hope Drogon gets to eat Cersei and Euron, and burn down King's Landing to splinter Westeros back into seven kingdoms. Aegon forged it, Dany should break it.
Rhaegal was my favorite dragon. He was so sweet. I was so worried for him last episode, so glad to see him in the promo for this one. Seeing him fall broke my heart. Dracarys, indeed.

Why is it bad writing to kill Rheagal and Messandei? The only bad writing was how they killed them (specially Rheagal). This will not have a good ending for Dany and if you thought it would be otherwise, you haven't paid attention throughout the show. Also I don't think George RR Martin will do it otherwise, maybe how it happens, but in the end the result will be the same.

I'm bad at English, but I've been watching your reactions since the summer of this year, it's really nice to see the impression of such a nice person, who so loving Dany. This woman sacrificed her interests for other people: she freed people from slavery all these years, although she could just come to Westeros. She refused to attack capital because he did not want the death of civilians. She fought with the Night King instead of trying to overthrow Cersei off the Throne. "Mad Queen Dany" doesn't make sense. If that happens, I will hate this show with all my heart. I will always love Daenerys, and if she becomes "the Mad Queen," it will be completely contrary to her character and history. Either way, I'm with Daenerys forever.

And if she kills all the civilians to do it, she will never be accepted as Queen. I think she is right. Her destiny is to rid the world of tyrants. But she will have to become a tyrant to beat Cersei. Her story arc is meant to he tragic I think.

Did you see the way he was looking at her in the bed before he left - he cares so much about her, he knows the only way she and everyone else will be safe is to take Cersei out. He's most definitely going to King's Landing to try and kill Cersei, he just didn't want Brienne going after him. He did the same thing Tyrion did with Shae!

So Dany worked 6 seasons to form the "biggest army in the world" to have it all destroyed in 2 episodes - the dothraki were sent to their deaths in the dark in the most pointless charge ever, most of the unsullied died protecting the northerners' retreat standing in FRONT of the trench instead of behind it, and the rest died thanks to euron's ninja fleet
And she gets her second dragon offed also thanks to Euron's ninja skills (how did Dany not see the fleet from where she was ?? and the writers in the "inside the episode" video said she "forgot" about the fleet despite it being included in the battle plans 10 minutes before ??)

Yea it's weird like when Dany went to Westeros it has felt like stalling and stalling where they came up with the whole White Walkers in Winterfell thing so she would lose a lot of her army. Even going to Dragonstone in Season 7 was weird because if you look at the map Dragonstone is very close to King's Landing. like it's crazy close. It is baffling why wouldn' you directly attack KL when it's your neighbour basically. Dany should have forgotten about Dragonstone and go directly to KL. The writers did incredible gymnastics. And I have no idea how George is going to do that in the books. But it has felt phony and not very realistic.

I don't know if Daenerys is going down the Mad Queen route but she's definitely lost her temper. And in that anger she may do things she will regret the rest of her days. Not because of Cersei or Euron or any of them, but all the innocents that get caught in between. That's how she has always dealt with grief, by going ballistic. Her face at the end… that's doom personified.

Her impulsivity and needing to be pulled back at times has been a thru line going all the way back to season 4 at the latest. She was gonna have Daario do something and Jorah talked her out of it. Now she lost her two best friends, half her army, two of her dragons and she feels like Sansa et al are plotting on her, which isn’t exactly wrong. Up until she got to westeros, she’s pretty much never lost. She just swept thru essos pretty easily and she’s finding out over this season and last that westeros is REAL different. I’m personally enjoying the arc because holy shit is Emilia Clarke playing the absolute hell out of it. Best work I’ve ever seen her do over the series.

Again, just for shock value. Not because it’s ‘good storytelling’ or doing Daenerys’ character justice. D&D obviously don’t care about being good storytellers anymore than they care about shock value for audiences. They even admitted themselves that the only reason they had Arya kill the NK was because no one was expecting Arya to be the one to do it.

jdsthird the story might be the same for Dany’s outcome. But you have to admit that at least GRRM would make it logical and make sense. The deaths of Rhaegal and Missandei were hugely unnecessary and it’s so obvious that the writers are picking the ‘better’ endings for THEIR favourite characters. Personally, I’m hating Sansa more and more every episode yet I know that strictly because she’s one of D&D’s favourite characters, she’ll probably be happy by the end.

I am sad to see you so upset by the direction of Daenerys' and her story line. For me personally I LOVE the fact that they are going the Mad Queen route, because I feel they have been leading up to that for several seasons with their "should she have shown more mercy? Was it right that she burned/killed that person/those people?" moments, but it breaks my heart that you feel so upset about it. I guess if I had loved Daenerys as much as you did I might not like it either, but.... yeah, I don't know that ANYONE could possibly love Daenerys as much as you do, lmao. It's kind of adorable

She doesn't have a legitimate claim to the throne and she knows that now. It was foreshadowed in the earlier seasons (and books) that she'd never sit on the throne and that KL would be ashes. Go home to Mereen and stay there. She led people to their slaughter for power hungry reasons. That's tyrannical. She's straight up cray cray like her brother and father. Always has been. I see what's there. I don't follow characters blindly because they have dragons and occasionally do good things by accident. She is a good character that people can identify with but like all other characters she is complex and layered. Not entirely perfect. Flawed and human. That's how GRRM writes his characters.

The thing that pulls me through is that right from the start, she always needed reigning back a bit, and there have been a few time that people have doubted her, but she always does the right thing at the last moment.
However after Rheagal and Missande, I now hope she burns them all.

Probably an unpopular opinion here, but I really like what they're doing with Dany's arc. She's started off powerless and having her fair share of losses; then from Season 3 onwards she's started gaining everything; and now that's she's grown used to power it's falling apart again. It's interesting to see what that does to a character, just comparing Dany from three seasons ago to the one of Season 8.
That's why I don't like the 'Mad Queen' comments that are popping up: everyone could see that if Dany ever lost her dragons, or now literally everyone who's close to her, she would snap and lash out, because they were her pillars since the start. Nothing mad about that; it's justified rage and fear, no different from anyone else who has lost people on this show - which is pretty much everyone. The only difference is, Dany has the power to do a lot of damage when she's angry, and that could end up costing everyone.
Because it's game of thrones and nothing there goes as we wish!!!! You win or you die! There's no middle ground.

I hate to tell you this George, but I think the reason you were having a hard time putting it into words is because you were being irrational and couldn't come up with a solid reasons for why you're feeling what you're feeling, other than Dany being your favorite. Being such a ride or die Dany lover was a strength of you channel and made you endearing, but it's also your biggest weakness now. Because it seems unless they treat her perfectly and make her this pure, virtuous, ultimate winner in the end, you're going to lose your mind. It's a big show, with a lot of great characters, but you hitched your wagon to just one of the them, 100%. So you basically set yourself up for this

do you know what i do agree partially with what you're saying, my issue isn't with Dany's evolution its the writing off it, D&D wanted this to end quickly and there has been no time to build on her character, had they done another season or two of full 10 episodes, they could have explored this, and her delve into darkness or into whatever she is becoming, but they didn't, they did it in 2 episodes, it just doesn't make sense where all these "i worry about her mental state" where does that even come from , at what point between winds of winter and now , has she really lost her mind, shes done nothing but fight her enemies, , that's my issue

Their concerns didn't hatch out of nowhere. And she still has the chance to prove them wrong. In fact I think there's a good chance she will. she still has a good heart and while she can be justifyably vengeful and fierce, she can still keep things under control

From the darkness, out walks the Night King, resurrected by Bran by altering the past as he did with Hodor. The Night King and his generals approach Jon, he extends his frost blue hand and Jon reluctantly shakes his hand, then a dragon screech.
An undead Rhaegal flies in and fires blue flames at the Lannister ballistas, the odds are now even.
The Night King created again for the same purpose, destroy men, destroy Kings Landing.

Last season I cursed D&D for what they did to Dany's character. I could already see the transition from empathy to power hungry. But I've realized something in this season. This is who Dany really is without Jorah. Think about the past. Think about all the mistakes that she came close to making that were sort of mad in and of themselves. And remember that it was always Jorah who talked her out of that madness. When she burned one of the heads of family in Mereen, Jorah wasn't there. When she wanted to burn down all the slaver ships and their kingdoms, Jorah was not there. And when she burned Sam's father and brother, Jorah wasn't there. Jorah has been the best advisor that Dany could ever ask for. He loved her, believed in her, cared about her sincerely, and he was able to control her worst impulses. Now Jorah is gone. And Dany is left on her own to be who she is.
But they all deserved to burn, every one of them, she is a ruler, bow or die, simple, and if she was a man no one would be questioning this.

As far her being a woman, I don't think that's why the audience question her abilities at all. Stannis was criticized. Euron and Bailon were criticized. Robert was questioned. Joffrey was most certainly questioned, as was Roose Bolton. They were all criticized for the same reasons as Dany... for their actions.

I love Jon but sitting the throne is his worst freaking nightmare. All Dany wanted to do was go home and they are treating her like shit. It's so sad.
I'm actually proud of Dany for not looking away when Missandei was executed. At that situation you have to savor the pain and anger. It reminds me of the last time someone murdered a person that is deeply close to Daenerys, that woman was tied up in public and was slowly burned alive.

Dany has always been my favorite fictional character. She is the best written morally grey character that I relate to so much. House Targaryen has always been my favorite house. and watching this last season where David and Dan have completely taken her arc and ruined it for the sake of a 'mad queen' storyline or so a man can sit on the throne, is so frustrating and disheartening. I fucking hate it and I know you and every dany stan does as well. We are all about to be very disappointed with the end of this show I can already tell and it's so sad. Team Targaryen deserves so much better.

Tyrion and Jamie are Cersei's family (the family who murdered her own) and literally stood directly to Daenerys but Dany didn't even made an example of them in public and kill them. The idea of Dany going mad isn't the issue for me. It's that there has been little to no build up to it. It's just happening all at once, so it feels forced and rushed. Had the writers set it up more organically and gradually over time, then yeah, sure, I could buy into it. But what we're getting instead feels sloppy and contrived. Honestly, between this and the poor handling of the Night King/White Walkers storyline, I have lost all faith in the writing this season. I don't think it can be salvaged with only two episodes to spare. Literally the only episode I liked was episode 2, and even that feels meaningless in retrospect.

Dany is one of the most amazing characters, she went through so much, came a long way for this ?? they are just pushing her character to go the negative way. She lost her Dothraki, the Unsullied, Viserion, Rhaegal, Joran and now Missandei. Varys and Tyrion will switch sides eventually. But tell me, is there any battle that doesn't have casualties ? Dany was being nice to most of them all this time and all we hear is how people are just hating her more. She should've burned them way before.
I love the madness of her character actually. Puts so much drama and thrill into the series. It’d be boring if she was the one set up as the hero and then actually he hero, right? Also I don’t think Jaime is gonna fight for Cercei but kill her

I feel like Daenerys hasn't suddenly turned - there's always been hints of it and there's been multiple occasions where other characters have had to talk her down.
She can be incredibly generous, loving and inspiring when things are going well, but from the second she got dragons she hasn't responded well to any sort of adversity. Look at some of the examples:
- Barristan had to talk her down from executing a Son of the Harpy with no trial in 5x02
- She had a head of Mereen family who by her own admission may have had nothing to do with Barristan's death burned alive in 5x05
- Jon and Tyrion had to talk her out of destroying King's Landing in 7x04
- She burned the Tarlys alive in 7x05 (leading to the first conversation between Tyrion/Varys about her mindset)
She's always had this in her, and I think it's been done really well and with subtlety. The signs have always been present if you looked for them and now, having lost her 2 "children" and two closest allies (Jorah and Missandei) in quick succession, she's completely lost and desolate, with no one to curb her worst tendencies. I think it's great writing.
I can’t stand people that say that Daenerys’ only goal since season 1 is the Iron Throne. Her deepest desire has always been to return home and find a family, a place where she can be safe and loved. D&D were supposed to know this, to know and understand the characters ...but this episode proves they don’t. I hate them so much now
Honestly guys, I think it's been quite obvious that Dany would go down this route. She's shown signs of madness as early as season 4 even if they weren't exactly clear back then. It became more evident as the show went on but I think your love for her has blinded you. However I still think there's time for her to avoid it.
