Yeah herpes sucks
Lysine as soon as I feel one coming on will stop it dead in its tracks and keep it from turning into a massive cauliflower on my face. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve started to feel a little bump just below the surface, started on hourly lysine, and been clear within a few hours . I used to break out nearly constantly. As soon as one would heal another would start. It was ruining my life. A friend told me about lysine and now it’s been nearly a decade since I’ve had an outbreak. I’m never without a bottle of lysine tablets close by.

Lysine is not doing much for me. I felt a cold soar coming took 3x 1000mg but it didn't do anything

Taking a break from my vitamins for a week & having too much stress, sudden colder weather & exposure to too many places, all during the same week, is what caused my outbreak just this morning with fever all day. So far, just giving myself lots of R&R. So glad i found this video. Youve been very helpful.

I used to teach and every single Christmas, (finishing one semester and prepping for the next one, gift buying, cooking etc.) I would get one. It became less often after I retired but still related to stress. This week, after years of not getting any , I had a 4h dentist appointment and voilà😢. I missed the first signs but still put some
Abreva and added vitamin e and good old Ozonol. I must add that I am just finishing one year of Vitamin D supplements from my doctor so that may be part of it. I had never heard of Lysine or urine testing. Thank you so much (my son is getting married this summer and I will be more aware).

Stress and just getting over bronchitis
I eat alot of bread, and i drink alot. Carbohydrates and sugars could be my problem.

Wow! Amazing information. I was off for 6 days and was out in the sun a lot and drinking a lot of beer, the day I go back to work I get a cold sore break out. I use alcohol and dry it out, this at least for me work far better than useless Abreva.

Besides it being unnecessary, are there any negatives to taking lysine daily?
I've seen clients who had chronic cold sores for years take it daily at a much lower dose, just to make sure they don't get a break out. I prefer not to use single amino acids daily if I can avoid it, but if it was keeping cold sores away, that would probably be worth it.

Put your ear wax on the cold sores. Use a good q-tip.. Stings a little my grandma gave me that remedy when I was a teenager.
Earlier I used to get very rarely, but now I get every month, but I attained Menopause. I am living in a very hot weather….. I really don’t know what to do to stop the occurrence of cold sores on my lip
Go to any drug store and find lysine pills. If you feel one coming take a couple lysine pills and most of the time they won't come to the surface! Been using them for years and I take them often, rarely ever get any now ❤

Hello! What about canker sores, the ones that form inside of mouth, on lips, gums, and cheeks. What causes them and how do you get rid of them? My son gets them and they are painful.

My vit d level is very good, I use sunscreen, eat lot of vegetables, do exercise, still I get cold sore on my upper lip now and then ? Why? What else can I do to prevent the occurrence of cold sore on my lip

Just started using Braggs ACV..lots of lysine. Eliminate completely high argenine foods.
I don't know if it helps yet, but just watched a video of someone who is plugging the medical medium advice that worked for her. She said using something called propolis several times a day.....and I guess she gets them inside her mouth and she held a piece of raw potato there...didn't say how long...and said that turned them around. Not sure, but I will try the propolis.

I go years without an outbreak because I take L-Lysine daily for maintenance. Only have a cold sore now because I have Covid. It’s been such a fun week, NOT!!!

I take 1000mg twice a day. Once in the morning and once at bedtime on an empty stomach.

I take 1000mg as soon as I wake up in the morning. I get ready for work and then go cook breakfast. It’s about 30 to 40 minutes in between. At night I just take when going to bed. I don’t worry too much how empty my stomach is. I take it when it’s convenient. Best of luck. I hope it works for you as well as it does for me.
Why not combine your supplemental Vitamin D3 with Vitamin K2 to get that calcium into the bone instead of loading up the bloodstream where it may end up calcifying the arteries? I thought Vitamin D was stored in the liver and not floating around the bloodstream.
Someone told me to take lots of vitamins B5 (pantothenic acid) for my cold sores.

There are other causes of sores in or around the mouth. And a wide variety of reasons that the virus would be more active on one person than it would be in another.
