- The Cartune Company (2003) Ltd in New Zealand does 1uz and 3uz conversions / parts and wiring. We have been working on UZ Toyota V8 engines since 2004 when we did our own Hiace van to transport dirtbikes around NZ. Since then we have swapped to doing mainly just Lexus V8 work from a family owned farm hidden away in our paradise , surrounded by the NZ native bush. My outback stops me sliding when I get onto grass or gravel. My LS430 has a VSC off button so that allows sideways.

I'm starting to get more in to UZ family (we are running a 3UZ in e82 chassis) , question - what is a general opinion of how high you can rev a stock 3uz bottom end safely (provided the heads and valvetrain is sorted)?

Toyota Deemed 6500 as a safe rev limit. I go to 7k on occasion. We have race cars over here revving to 7500 but some expire with a leg out of bed from time to time, so not so safe.
@@CartuneNZ we are at 7250 for a second season now , so far so good and the power keeps going up so it's very tempting to go more 😅

The only way to make a bmw reliable is to install a Toyota engine 🙂
Hmmm, maybe you should ask about the factory bmw 2.8 with 300,000km he ran for years before wanting more power and switching to a 3uz
@@Funkyflykiwi junkyards runeth over with newer bmws. In England the police bought a fleet of bmws. Now they’re selling them all off with very low mileage at a huge loss. The engines were so bad they punched holes in the blocks so that consumers won’t catch fire while driving them. No thank you bmw man

@@Funkyflykiwi I installed a 1uz with almost 400 000 km 242k miles in my truck runs like an absolute dream. Sounds like a beast and doesn’t leak any oil or smoke at all Try that with bmw engine
