My Halo just arrived and I was looking to find help setting up and training my 6 mo old Shepherd mix. I like what you've done with your videos. Curious if you researched the plans and which one you use A, B, or C. Thanks! Looking forward to getting my system up and running.
Yes, I recommend the gold plan to start (3 months) - but it's totally up to you. The reason for this is it gives you full access to any troubleshooting, training help, and resources so you can get started and settled in. Once you are feeling confident about your dog transitioning to the collar and having success - and you understand how the collar works - and how to troubleshoot it ... go to the simple plan. I just think in the beginning that a support system is super important. (just my opinion)
I think you are referring to support. When getting started, I recommend a higher level of support till your dog is trained, that way you have full access then downgrading once you feel comfortable.
I enjoyed your video. One question comes to mind is whether or not one can share fence data with your spouse. In other words, if I set up the fence on my phone app, will it show up on my wife's app on her phone?
Looking at getting a GPS dog collar looking at the halo and spot on. First question how many Fences can you make on each one and is there a size limit. What age do you recommend starting a dog GPS collar.
Hi Jan, sorry I missed this. I think a good age is about 6 months, but it depends on the dog. for the Halo, I think the total is 20 fences and the SpotOn 10.
Hi Andrea - while you don't have access to it there do you have access to it anywhere else? As long as you can set it up with wireless the map will store in the collar when you go into a remote location.
Yes, absolutely - if you see my videos this is the setup we use for Vivi (mainly when it's dry out) - it's just a mesh door that she can pass in and out of. I will say, that the SpotOn does tend to have interference but it is a better fit for Halo
You would have to test it and may have some weird results if the spaces between the homes are narrow. I know I have figured out how to cut through the middle of my neighbor's house on one side (don't worry doesn't affect my neighbor and he knows) and have tweaked it over time. However, it isn't recommended to go over large buildings as you may get some interference. For us, it's been reliable, but every situation/space I would assume is different and of course, we're all in different places physically with different GPS satellite connectivity... but give it a try and be patient testing it and fine-tuning it.
@@KarmaDogSpeak Thanks for the reply. I am on the first day training with the actual beacon and the beacon doesn’t work right at all. It’s not quick enough to give feedback. I can literally hold the collar right over it and it doesn’t even give a warning. After a good 10 seconds it might beep, might vibrate. How can I train my dogs to the fence if the beacon training won’t even work? I went ahead and set up a fence outside using the collar. I then walked it myself to make sure the collar was responsive with feedback. That seemed to work fine. Anything I can do to make the beacon work better?
We have set our fences. calibrated, and walked the fence lines. However, when and where it signals isn’t consistent. As of now we are simply teaching the pups if you hear a beep return to safety. But this is confusing when the alerts are not consistent. We killed the app, turned off the collar, recalibrated and I still can’t understand and the alert. So, I am wondering do I need to turn the collars off and on before putting them on the pups? Do I need to do this everyday/time? This hasn’t to be easier!
No … you’ve got the right idea … the signal will “drift” and feel inconsistent but focus on teaching that “sound cue” … its more confusing for us (humans) but all you want them to know is “sound” = return
+Traveling Hamburger good question you have 20 points to close the fence personally i like more points than less as you can manually adjust them once set.
@@KarmaDogSpeak so the fence must be closed? I mean obviously yes but i was thinking of starting on one edge of the back of the house and ending on the other back edge. Do you think that would work or would make it so your ending point circled back to your beginning point to “close” it.
Hello, I decided to buy this collar thanks to your videos. Do you have a update code? I tried a few and none work. Thank you so much for your videos. :)
Amanda - let me look - in my app - if not I will reach out to support and get back to you. B7EBAN57 is the one posted in my app, see if it works for you - be sure to use all capitals. Let me know.
I sure wish I could understand your words, some of the audio is very poor, Also what you said about the app while showing your phone just didn't match.I'm sorry to be negative but I was really hoping this video would help.
" I don't make money" " I have a promo code" Come on now you make money or receive benefits every time someone uses your promo code. People aren't stupid.
@@KarmaDogSpeak Good I'm glad you self corrected on this. As anyone making videos about this product is either sponsored directly or through promos. Makes this product seem sketchy
@@billweirdo9657 Bill, I review more than just this one, I will also note I'm the only one (that I know of) that actually lived with the product for over a year (non-compensated), and now as I am getting contacted to review other collars, I am the only person who actually reviews it hands-on and puts it into action. You will find a number of sites that basically summarize the product in a nice chart and form an opinion, but I believe these are mainly based on reading through reviews and summarizing an assessment. Fair feedback though, I get it.
@@KarmaDogSpeak much respect for taking the time like I said im glad you self corrected to make this transparent I have no problems with people getting compensation for product reviews and to make videos. I only have a problem when people are dishonest about it. Which as I said you self corrected so I respect that. 🍻
@Kthompson notifications 5 to 15 minutes late or more on the app. GPS pin gets stuck several times a week. Static sporadically works, tested on myself. Slow loading app.
I found the answer!! You have to hold for a moment to move.thanks for all you do! BUT I have another question, where do you see "add GPS" on the app?
LOL - I couldn't find it either ... it's a logo towards the bottom right ... I can't stand how it's not differentiated very well. - it's confusing.
could you explain how to move fence posts with fingers indoors? Other than delete and replacing. Thank you!
Did you still need this? Or did you figure it out.

Yes same app and same login!
How does the beacon work?
Essentially it’s a puck that emits a signal. Where you place a puck it can provide feedback to an area. It works in a circle shape from the center.
Can i ask how yiu got the display to show up as an actual picture? I just have a bland black and white on mine?
Yes !! Here you go - ua-cam.com/users/shortsUlv3M74ecT4?si=3bJ87o9AzDxk6IDm
Do you need a strong internet for this to work in my 1.5ac property?
Actually … the fence once set up stores in the collar so if you get disconnected it’s working.

What did you click. Get the collar off the dog.
Have you made a video on the calibration of the collar? I just got a Halo and I need to get it calibrated.
Yes there is … very simple take a look through my videos.
Are we able to place caution areas within the designated map where we dont want our furry friends to go?
I just bought my collars, however I live on 10 acres. If I don't have wifi on the property will I still be able to set it up around the woods?

Is there a way to set up a fence only for our backyard, running each end of the fence up to the sides of the house?

@@annasullivan4719 I never thought about it ... I assumed feet - since it's a US product and we're still in the dark ages with the empirical system.

This is why I sent my back. Inconsistent with delayed feedback.
@@76heavydriver how long did you have it before you sent back and was getting a refund painless?
Is there a certain distance you walk before you pin a waypoint or do you just pick physical locations, walk to it and pin it?
