- This bedtime story is about structures built during the Cold War: bases, silos, bunkers... From America to the Soviet Union, the UK and China, we will explore some of them to discover what motivated their construction and their now eerie atmosphere.

I grew up with the Cold war and school drills where we squatted under our desks or in the halls with our head between our legs and hands over our necks as if that was going to do anything other than, as we children used to joke, make it possible for us to kiss our ass goodbye. 😂 Sadly the world seems just as filled with conflict and threats now. Your voice is so soothing that even this subject is reduced to an interesting history lesson I can drift off to sleep during. Thank you for your work.

I was a kid during the height of the cold war insanity and paranoia, and it has scarred me so much I am having a really hard time relaxing with this video. The useless and futile school bomb shelter drills and "duck and cover" were terrifying in themselves and certainly did nothing to allay the reality of mutual assured destruction. Man is the most insane and deadliest threat to the future!!!
