I really oughta get my father on DCS. You indirectly know him Mover. My old man was Shanghai's squadron commander from Desert Storm.

Sounds like both of you had fun. I wish my father would give DCS a try. He flew F-4G Phantoms in Desert Storm.

That was fun to watch. It makes sense that you guys practice that skill as often as possible.

Love your channel man. You lived the life we all wish we could have had😂 in your serious opinion, taking out the feeling of the aircraft and g’s, how close does it fly to the real thing? I exclusively fly the f16, and have a pretty amazing home cockpit, with all the gauges, switches and buttons the real jet has using all sorts of electronics, it’s just so fun , your lucky to have had the chance to fly these

Maybe it's because of the pylon drag still isn't fix? Just like the last time you dogfight with Gonky, you said that carry AIM-120/AIM-9 vs clean config, the viper behaves reasonable with clean config.

Totally off subject, C.W. What do you know about the F-16N designed for the Navy Top Gun school as an adversarial training craft? It might make for an interesting discussion...or did you do it and I missed it?

having an airport nearby allows for loss of all power. either extra engines or nearby airfields make for redundancy that mitigates airframe or pilot loss.

    Have you tried Falcon BMS?

@@CWLemoine That's too bad. I know it's not as shiny as DCS, but it would be cool (for me at least) if you were able to give it a try. I was part of the dev team a decade ago, so I have a soft spot for it.

@@CWLemoine 2nd the motion for Mover to make a go at BMS! I find that landing in BMS is easy, and the sink on final comes on nice and gradual. It feels more natural, but I only have IRL Cessnas and Pipers to compare that to, no time in my dream jet the Viper.
Like to see Mover's report on the BMS flight models. In that sim, the F16As and early block Cs have an easier time moving the nose around, they dont all feel the same. Also in BMS when you hit corner speed and go for a max pull at 9g, the jet really cranks through the turn, and you can see the DPS of the turn as the earth rotates around you, it looks like "yeah that force in reality would HURT". BMS has better visual cues for turning, its a lot easier to know when you are getting max rate or leaving some on the table through turns. Also plane spotting is so much better on BMS with the "smart scaling" feature makes dogfighting more fun. The AI in BMS is smart, enemy wingmen work together, and will try and drag you back in to their SAM coverage. I have seen the BMS AI make smart moves, they will try and probe you and back off BVR if they dont have the advantage, then suddenly drive in for the attack when its advantageous for them.

@@-mikerivers-I’ve tried it, and it just doesn’t have anything on dcs, and that means no offense to you. The jets don’t fly the same, the cockpits aren’t as high fidelity etc, it just can’t compare.

@@ThomisticAmerican13FOXsee I just don’t think it has anything on dcs, and as far as smart scaling goes, we are here for the realism of flying fighter jets…I fly A LOT of air to air and I don’t think the AI enemy is that bad at all, especially if your going up against an su-33
