John Gibbons is a registered Osteopath, Lecturer and Author and is discussing how to manipulate the cervical dorsal junction (CDJ) or the cervical thoracic junction (CTJ). Some of these techniques can be taught but only to skilled therapists and manipulations plus more is taught on the Spinal course at Core Elements in swindon. The technique demonstrated is called a CTJ thrust.

This guy is magical.
No, he's just doing what every other chiropractor does.
Amazing CT junction adjustment!
Thanks for the comments, regards JG
Doc is double cheeked up
For no reason
My goodness these comments 😂😂😂
WHEW 😥 scary but priceless therapy 🤯 Jebuss!!!6-7 times out of ten with this one motion 😮💯🫨👍🏾
I like the use of body mechanics for chiro teaching.
I learned a little different but like this way better. We ould tell pt to breath out while giving maximal tension then a small thrust
Thanks for the message - regards JG
Great instruction. I really struggle with this technique and my physio teachers have tried to teach it to me many times. Your way is great with the comfortable mobilization setup
Glad it was helpful!
Glad you enjoyed my instruction. Cheers-JG
Yes this is the definition of expertise. The teaching, the timing, example.
That is so imaginatively great. I wonder how he started Chiropractic Practice.
By doing the same bullshit made up course all the other purveyors of this snake oil did
I am actually an Osteopath but is similar to chiropractic - regards JG
@@JohnGibbons Oh. I must do my research before posting. Sorry for not getting it correct the first time. I really thought that’s what you are. Osteopath sounds really promising,
prestigious and appealing too the ear. Glad that you do justice for people. Never give up. Your awesome. 👏
Instructor has the glutes of a Greek God 😳
Very kind of you to say ❤️
😅 I was searching for a comment similar to my thoughts and found it. 😂.
True professional
Very kind, regards JG
I need more surgery on my back. It's a very dangerous surgery tbh according to my surgeon & I don't want to take medication to numb the pain, but it definitely hurts. This actually looks like it feels kind of good.
I have my nerves ablated, during systemic pain flairs ... not permanent, but long lasting. Find a good pain clinic - mine works in harmony with my chiro, surgeon, pt & massage therapy team. For me, it takes a village & my spine pain therapist is a godsend that gives me a path to higher success with the other therapies. My neck & lumbar are chronically deteriorating with an autoimmune disorder & I have treatments in both areas.
Can you please clarify the shoulder protection part? It appears it’s followed at the start, but abandoned in the end? Is the idea to refrain from thrust for those with anterior instability (and just rock instead)? Thx for sharing!
I do that myself feels so good
You are a wonderful guy❤❤
Very kind of you to say, thanks a million, regards JG
Cavitation unfortunately doesn't do anything for fixing the issue, albeit it feels good (immediate release of adrenaline). The lasting effects are just not there. Work on control of the hypothalamus and cortisol and you'll see far more long lasting results, oh and its free.
Thanks for the message and comments - regards JG
I would sign up to be the test partner all day
Chiropractor: "I used a bigger guy"
Patient: 😥
I have been suffering from this area since 98'
Oh sorry ❤
Sorry to hear that. It's a long time.. I hope some things will give you some ideas on how to improve or eliminate your ailment.. how did that happen through sports, ruff Housing, work, an accident
For what this maneuver is used for
I like this alternative.
Glad it was helpful and thanks for watching! Regards JG
Ohhh I want one of these
ALWAYS EXCELLENT DOCTOR👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻THANKS YOU SO MUCH🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
Always welcome, regards JG
Gonna try this later
Good Job 👋
Thanks for the message - regards JG
What's this for? I seemed to have popped a rib or strained a muscle, think it's valled encostal muscle, it's taking ages to heal
This technique is to help reduce symptoms to the C8 nerve root - regards JG
Great instruction. I love it.

😅
Genius Billy Idol!!
Soooo this is definitely manipulating more than just C7-T1. Not sure I understand what the point is in calling it cervicothoracic junction manipulation.
What does this do for a client ?
Can help reduce symptoms to the C8 nerve root area - regards JG
I do this by myself and people think im crazy
A lot of people can - regards JG
What does this achieve for the patient
If you have a C8 neurological issue - then this technique can help as it tractions the joint space and hopefully reduces the patients symptoms in the C8 dermatome, regards JG
Let be honest this does jack you have to start fixing your own body strengthening abs exercises posture wall angle, deadbugs, band pall apart weight less slow squat with band this is just not going to cut it
If you have C8 neurological symptoms - this technique can help as its a traction type of motion - regards JG
When you're doing bodyweight exercises, you're supposed to get adjustments and massages. Those exercises eliminate muscle imbalances, which is what causes "bad back", disc deteriorating etc. Doing those, you must get an adjustment done. It's not comfortable like lifting weights.
@@jaywin9048 in confused so you don't get massage if you lift weights but you do for three weights I'm confused
@@Joseph-rc1xy I said body weight exercises require massages...
@@Joseph-rc1xy You're doing exercises that require you to use functional strength not weights. The same reason a guy can bench 225 10 times but can't do 1 pullup...
I have a broken sternum, what’s best way to realign it?
Dr,where are you live, I live Toronto. I tried four chiropractors in Toronto, three were regular massages, and one was a face adjustment every time, not targeting the problem.
Based in UK in Oxford
How I wish I had to do it on
Could you tell me how long it takes for facett joints to heal after treatment
are you the only chiropractor in the village ?
The only osteopath, regards JG
I could do that just call me Dr. Victorious thank you 😂
Thanks for the message Dr Victorious - regards JG

Can anyone anyone speak to using the neck as leverage? This seems not safe for someone with cervical issues.
No leverage to the cervical is used
Nice sir

Cervico-thoracic junction 😂, just a general axial decoaptation on d3-d5 at most.
Hair by Rod Stewart 🙈
I'll sue you for bending my neck that long😢
Thought it was a jiu jitsu video…
Ah so Thai massage
It is similar as when I visit thailand they do this to me - or try, regards JG

Not a thrust, a pull.
It’s a thrust
@@stonergaming4629 No, he's pulling. It's just the dumb vocabulary they use.
Tief Luft!!
Most chiropractors are idiots but he’s not
Thanks for the message - regards JG
Just because you’re hearing clicks doesn’t mean you’re adjusting the correct misalignment. Anyone can do this.

Wrong
@@Zane_Zaminsky it's a cult, look up who started this in the 1800s. It's a religion not a science
@@Zane_Zaminsky chiropractic care was invented by a cultist psedoscientist. They banned it years ago, so he converted it into a religion to maintain practice legally. Just Google the origina of it. It does help relieve tension and pain. But only temporarily. So you keep going back. It's.notnsolvijg anything in it's root alone. Chiros claim cracking joints cures everything from stress to digestive issues lol. Wtf do your joints have to do with digestion.
