Joints always feel better after popping, it has something to do with the shock causing your body to release a pain masking chemical. It's like a miniature trauma, like if you get in a car reck your body doesn't actually let you feel the full extent of the pain for quite some time. So when you pop a joint you're just getting temporary relief from the chemicals released.

Holy cow. Out of all the videos I’ve seen, this is the only one that actually popped my hip. It still has minor pains but after a few times of doing this, I should be good by work on monday
“Popping” or “cracking” your back does not realign it, nor does it solve the underlying issue. You’re experiencing lower back pain because you most likely have weak glutes and/or hip flexors. Any pain relief you’re experiencing from this video’s technique is likely coming from the resistance motions rather than the supposed aligning motions. The resistance portions of this maneuver- where you’re resisting the opening and closing of your legs- are activating your glute muscles, which work to move your hips. Focus on strengthening those muscles and you will eliminate your pain for good.
YOU, my friend, just earned another subscriber with this. Issues with my SI all my life…started while road cycling in the 90’s. Now a gym rat but still have periodic issues. Will try this…
Been doing this for going on two decades now. It works! You also know when your muscles are so tight that you can't get it to work. It's not fun. Grateful somebody else is teaching this technique. Had a physical therapist teach my mother this after she had back pain for 12 years. It was a godsend
@@cynthiapreston937 I know this is going to sound kind of weird, but when my muscles are tight like that I take a midol or pamprin. It helps with period cramps but it also helps with muscle cramps. After about an hour I try again. Sometimes I feel the little click and sometimes I have to wait for the next day. But it does eventually help
It looks like my comment about how I help myself with the muscle stiffness was removed...I wasn't telling anyone else to do that. But anyway, ask your medical doctor to help with the muscle spasms and tightness, if they give you something to help with that, this technique could possibly work.
It's amazing how one video can help someone so much. I've had so much pain in my back for years! After this, I can finally move a part of my back that I haven't been able to move well for years. Thank you❤
I have big time SI joint issues and was thrilled when I came across this video. I watched it multiple times and then tried the technique...and nothing! I've never been so disappointed.😢
Try sitting on a lower surface. Like, I tried this on the edge of my bed but it didn't work because I think my bed is too high. I sat outside on my patio steps, skipped a step from where I was sitting & put my feet flat on that next step & tried it again & it worked wonderfully. Since then I've been doing this a few times a day, especially after I wake up in the morning & always get relief. I even got added clicks & relief by twisting my lower back while doing the forearm part.

Wow instant relief. Thank you so much. You are so appreciated by ALL of us. May your showers never run cold and your drinks never get warm. Bless you 😊❤🎉🎉
I'm sure this is a good lower back stretch, but I'm very skeptical of the claim that it 'resets' the SI joint. A) what does that even mean and B) the SI joint is almost immobile in adults (about a 3 degree ROM) so how could it become unset in the first place?
I'm a chiropractor's assistant. I've personally never heard of this stretch, so as for it's validity I don't know. But I can promise you from personal experience that when your SI isn't moving properly it's excruciating. Just last month I missed almost a week of work due to this. Went to bed feeling fine, woke up on Saturday stiff so I did so stretches to loosen up. As the day progressed I slowly got where I could barely walk. Worse pain I've had in years.
A position i use to decompress my spine is to lay your chest on the bed with your legs left out touching the floor. Then, just release or relax your hip. You're gonna feel pain at first, but that's normal.
I've been a whole year with constant back pain, it was being very intense the last two or three days. I followed the instructions and it has greatly decreased (not dissapeared, but decreased). Thank you so much ❤
I heard the pop and then my ex wife texted me saying she wants to get back together and she also brought my childhood dog back to life! Thank you @drchristianamarron !!!

Instant relief after 10 years of Right SI joint pain (right hip higher than the left). There's been no pop but a kind of a crunch from the left hip. Should we alternate the arm we place between our knees in order to work both sides? Practicing this more slowly and a holding a little longer seems to increase effectiveness. And it affects not only the SI joint but also my right knee, calf and the outside of my right foot. Amazing.Thank you, thank you!!!
I wonder if you have my problem. I have self learned ways to relieve my SI joint during my day and night but all is stemming from my loose right hip joint which causes my pelvis to be slightly off level. And yes, misalignment does translate, so for me down into a misaligned right knee, and a falling left foot arch, a kink mid back right of spine.... I also do yoga, which has solved so much for me.
@@mtalk828 if it feels right and good when you try it, then it should be helpful. You might also look into yoga for lower back pain or hip pain. I've found to be hugely helpful.
@@tiffanymills3277 the way I was taught was to lay on my back and put something large like an exercise ball between my knees and then squeeze the ball. That seems to reset things for me.

Didn't hear a pop, but my lower back has felt like there's a curve in it for years, and i feel somewhat normal now 😅
I felt and heard the pop. I was pretty amazed cause I didn't think anything would happen
Your lower back is lordotic, everyone is supposed to have this curve. Sometimes it's curved too much which is called lordosis.
@@flameofanor8252hyper-lordosis* is the excessive inward curvature of the spine
@flameofanor8252 you're a Lordosis
@@flameofanor8252 Oh Lordosis…
YOU, my friend, just earned another subscriber with this. Issues with my SI all my life…started while road cycling in the 90’s. Now a gym rat but still have periodic issues. Will try this…
Invaluable video right here. Ty so much
Been doing this for going on two decades now. It works! You also know when your muscles are so tight that you can't get it to work. It's not fun. Grateful somebody else is teaching this technique. Had a physical therapist teach my mother this after she had back pain for 12 years. It was a godsend
I'm at that moment where the muscles are tight and can't get it
@@cynthiapreston937 I know this is going to sound kind of weird, but when my muscles are tight like that I take a midol or pamprin. It helps with period cramps but it also helps with muscle cramps. After about an hour I try again. Sometimes I feel the little click and sometimes I have to wait for the next day. But it does eventually help
What do you do when it’s too tight?!
So that’s why it’s not working for me at all. My body is solid as a rock, because I barely move and never do physical exercise.
It looks like my comment about how I help myself with the muscle stiffness was removed...I wasn't telling anyone else to do that. But anyway, ask your medical doctor to help with the muscle spasms and tightness, if they give you something to help with that, this technique could possibly work.
I have no idea why this popped up in my feed, i also have no idea why i actually watched then decided to try it.
AND IT ACTUALLY WORKED!
😂😂😂IKR....got me too!!
Lol. POPPED up!
Same! 😂😅
But what do that do and us thatbusefull
Nope, nothing but squashed nuts! 😂

If you have a spouse you can also use them. When I lay next to my wife, sometimes one of us will put the others legs between us and squeeze. Squeeze their legs between yours and you'll get a nice pop right where your legs bones connect to your body.
Been doing this for like 5 months now! Thanks for the help
Can confirm, I heard a loud pop, and I suddenly feel relief for something I didn’t even realize was a problem. lol. Listen to your bodies folks.
Oh. My. God. My pain levels have been HUGE in this region for months now. I'm actually crying with relief. Thank you!!!!
It really works 😭💙 my sciatic nerve was just freed for the first time in forever
I'm so glad for you. It's crazy how long we suffer with these things. Don't know about you but my doctor's visit gave me no viable solution for similar problems. Videos like this are soooooooo helpful!
@@sparra3819 yeah, I went and saw a chronic pain "specialist" after years of going without when my amazing doctor retired. He had me do the most basic movements and because I was capable of them he decided I was fine, just needed to be on an anti-inflammatory I'd already tried that did nothing for me. No localized treatments, no physio, no f*cks. Some doctors aren't worth their medical degree :(
I had lower back pain( SI joint pain).
Your technics work perfectly! It released my pain instantly!!!!

Merci Beaucoup!!!!
I love when 'Technics' work perfectly. Especially when used in conjunction with an Allen & Heath mixer.
YES! It wasn't that loud but it did Pop exactly like you said. Much appreciated😊
I sat on the edge of the couch and it popped in almost immediately. I have tried so many different things and this is the first to work. Thank you so much.
It worked. I tried it for both forearms & it popped twice, first time was louder than the last. Thanks!! 🙏🏽🥳
Oh I am so happy!
@@drchristianamarron I had very bad pain in my left hip, I’ve had it for years and have been seeing physical therapists at the VA hospital for soo long. It’s CRAZY how this fixed the problem and now it doesn’t hurt so bad when I walk 😌 amazing!

Instructions unclear: my pelvis went into factory reset mode
Windows tried to force an update on mine in the middle of this.
😂😂😂 oh my sides! 😂😂😂
This is fantastic.
factory reset means the day your born, which is awesooooommmmeee!
@@annaku_lickalicious Until this newborn pelvis has to carry a grown adult haha but otherwise that would be great 👍🏼
I'm sure this is a good lower back stretch, but I'm very skeptical of the claim that it 'resets' the SI joint.
Cool! Thank you.
Hands on outside of knees-does not look like opposite sides.
A position i use to decompress my spine is to lay your chest on the bed with your legs left out touching the floor. Then, just release or relax your hip. You're gonna feel pain at first, but that's normal.
Felt immediate relief with this, thank you.
Crazy that works. Helps massively as being a mechanic my back gets alot of abuse thanks
I thought this was silly.
But, it works!
Thank you so much!
Got some relief from lower back pain
I’m gonna add this into my routine
Thank you so much, I moved my feet apart when leaning forward so it didn’t work but when I actually followed your instructions to keep the feet together it worked and gave me immediately relief, thank you.
For sure - the feet together is THE KEY to this move !!!
"It didn't work until I actually followed your instructions to the letter..." Omfg😂😂😂I have no words with which to insult you...I can't even smh...sitting here dumbfounded by you and many others..."I tried it with my feet apart because that's what you said NOT TO DO..why doesn't it work for meeee???" I actually did not understand her instructions. Everyone says it helps. So i feel a bit dumb. @@carolinesimon270
Du you know what to do? Cauw id like to do it properly. Am i suppose too push my hands inward and use stregth to open my knees in the 5 second and relax for 3 secods?
I just got into a horrible snowboarding accident and was having horrible pain in my lower area I just did this and popped it!!! I'm in a lot less pain now thank you for the tip !!
Didn't expect much. Yet, never experienced such pops. Amazing.
A few years ago I had this problem and this particular exercise helped to fix it, also I stop working and not sitting for long hours also helped.
Makes sense. Contracting the antagonist muscles to help mobility and flexibility.
I couldn't help but hear: 🎶Hands on your knees, hands on your knees!🎵
Thank you! Felt the click, reduced the ache of my painful coccyx
The SI joint misalignment causes those other parts to be out of alignment as well
Yeah i felt something too. Like a rush of blood in the lower back after the small pop.
I have leg length difference. Pain in my hip and lower back area. Will this technique help me?
@@mtalk828 if it feels right and good when you try it, then it should be helpful. You might also look into yoga for lower back pain or hip pain. I've found to be hugely helpful.
I thanked God for you this morning folks!! ♥️🙌May God bless and keep y’all.
I knew this would work as it's one of the only videos without a fake sound effect of a back cracking
I don't know why I thought this might not work for me... it totally did work, and it felt so good! Thank you!
Hey, I gotta pop! LOL. 😂 Gonna do these more often. I sit a lot for work (10-12 hours), ugh, not good. Back and hips be killing meh! 😖
Focus on working on spinal stability exercises, stretching might actually be making your pain worse
Oh my goodness! Ive been doing this the way I was taught in cheerleading 17 years ago, had no idea i could do it sitting! 🙌🏼😂🤯
What were you taught in cheering? This didn't work for me, maybe another way will
@@tiffanymills3277same, not sure what I'm doing wrong.. wondering if another way will help
@@tiffanymills3277 the way I was taught was to lay on my back and put something large like an exercise ball between my knees and then squeeze the ball. Sometimes I will also follow by putting something skinnier between my knees and squeezing it. Then I push my knees together from the outside, using my hands, and push back against my hands. That seems to reset things for me.

can you please share what you did for cheerleading that could make it pop?
I’ve been doing this occasionally by accident when standing up, getting that “pop”, so I’m glad now to finally have a technique to actually use.
I tried it, and it actually worked just like you said! Lol never felt so much relief on my pelvis lol
Didn't hear or feel a pop. Will keep trying. How should the lower back be positioned? Flat spine or curved? Hope I can get a response. Happy for those it worked for! 🙏🏾❤❤🙏🏾
You can keep it neutral, if it's easier to round to get into the position that's okay. Key is keeping the feet together.
I wish they would mention in videos like this that everyone doesn’t pop. I don’t have an audible pop but it still feels nice
This is one of the most helpful videos on the internet . Thank you!
