    I realize these are sales training videos, but I really appreciate you posting them anyway. You get a different perspective on these type of videos, one that I personally get more out of than a direct-to-customer type of video. Thank you for all of your hard work on this channel.

      Thank You Bill, this is great feedback and it helps us determine what specifically is working and the type of videos to produce in the future.

    Recently bought 6.5 3-way for the rear and 6.75 (6 3/4) component for the front in my Kia Soul. The factory stereo was weak and replaced with aftermarket. I almost don't need a amplifier for them but going to anyways as it gives a clear crisp sound. Can't wait to install my subs.

      That's great Leighton! Glad your system upgrade is going great so far. Just keep the amplifier as closely matched to the RMS power handling of the speakers and you'll have a great performing system.

      @@rockfordfosgate Thank you for the reply. My last car was a 1999 Hyundai Tiburon, it was my very first experience with Rockford Fosgate speakers. More specifically 12" DVC Punch (now called Prime) subs. Powered by the Punch 2 amplifier of that era, that amplifier was a beast. One of my friends had a all MTX system rated at 1000-1500 watts and was jealous that my setup hit harder with less power.
      I like the stickers and would love to advertise but it's unfortunate that certain people would rather steal than buy their own equipment.

      @@leightonelliott3140 That's awesome! Curious why you mentioned the 12" DVC Punch are now called Prime ... the "Punch" series subwoofers never get/got reclassified, if they are labeled as "Punch", they are always considered a Punch Subwoofer. I've worked here since 1989, so you can take that info to the bank :-)

      @@rockfordfosgate I said that because I just purchased 2-10" prime DVC subwoofers and I'll except the fact I am wrong. I figured it was product line renaming. Keep in mind it has been a LONG time since I owned that car. That said it may have been the Punch 2 12" DVC I owned I remember the base(magnet) being smaller than newer, again been a long time.

    rockford fosgate p169x3 prime,
    Bass is good or bad??

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  4 роки тому +1

      The Prime R169X3 speakers have a great frequency response of 47Hz - 20kHz. However they are designed as OEM replacement speakers so you don't want to drive the snot out of them. If you're looking for bass response, you'll want to look into a subwoofer. A single 8" or 10" can provide some decent bass without taking up too much space.

    I have a t400-4 amp. Can I use these speakers or should I go with the power series full range speakers?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  7 років тому +1

      The Power T400-4 amplifier is rated to produce 60 Watts x 4 @ 4-Ohm. We suggest not exceeding the RMS power handling of speakers. Since various speakers have different power handlings, I'll use the 6.5" model across Prime, Punch & Power:
      - The Prime R165X3 is rated to handle 45 Watts RMS.
      - The Punch P1650 is rated to handle 55 Watts RMS.
      - The Power T1650 is rated to handle 75 Watts RMS.
      With your amplifier, the best option would be to use the Power T1650 full-range speakers.

    Why is the small tab pos+ and the big tab neg - ? all the harness's even the wire that came with the speakers are big tab (white)pos + , small tab (black) neg - ? I'm not going to blow up the speakers by plugging them in backwards am I ?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  6 років тому

      We're assuming you mean on the tweeter speaker wire, correct? We're not aware of any harnesses that come with those, so maybe we're assuming the wrong speaker. However, if we are talking about tweeters, due to the crossover induced phase-shift (all passive crossovers have this) you'll typically invert the polarity to bring the tweeter back into phase with the midrange speaker. It will not blow up the speaker.

      rockford fosgate speakers R1675X2 are the speakers. 6.75 I think they would be woofers right?

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  6 років тому

      O.K. yes, the Prime R1675X2. Don't have a good reason why the white isn't positive, just be consistent with the (+) and (-) terminals to the amplifier. If they are connected backwards, you won't burn up anything, it will just be out of phase.

    I like the idea of the low mount tweet for sure. But 1/2" is pretty weak sauce.

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  7 років тому +3

      Prime coax speakers are typically used as OEM replacements. Sounds like 1" tweeters are more your style in the Punch & Power lineup. We also feature 1.5" tweeters in the Punch Pro line. Stay tuned, those videos are coming...

    Why does everybody want to talk about speakers but nobody wants you to hear them. 👎

    • @rockfordfosgate
      @rockfordfosgate  Рік тому

      We always recommend critical listening tests be done at your local Authorized Rockford Fosgate dealer on a sound board where you can switch between different models. Most all desktop and mobile devices use very small diaphragms with a bandwidth limited frequency response. In other words, don’t judge a pair of 5.25” or 6.5”components or full-range speakers through a set of cheap 1” transducers.
