Fun Dog needs to step up the AI in this game with some sort of escalation response, like their own brand of the GTA wanted level, start spawning enemies that require specialized equipment. There's no way these armies would tolerate anything like this, they'd start calling in air support, mechs, hunter killers, etc. I understand this game is in early access but I kinda think that's the solution to the kind of antithetical progression working against the core idea of scavenging. You upgrade your gear to easily dispatch lower-grade threats while trying to stay off the radar of the true threats that require teamwork or expensive equipment to neutralize. Trying to manage your threat level while still actively being kinda badass sounds more fun than being a 100% rat.
you should put this in for the dev cause AI improvement is the one of the most needed request for this Early Access. Also there were players that wanted to get their hands on this early and they did but the Dev was a bit unhappy that it went to early access a little too early as I heard
@@MaticTheProto For sure man. Far as I am aware this is a studio-release and there's no publisher, right? So the EA release is a critical injection of cash to actually continue the project over the goalposts. The most financially difficult points of a game's development is this polish, optimization, and balancing stage. Tale as old as gamedev, pooped out before it was ready at the behest of the publisher, eager to see returns before the quarterly reports. I see the workings of what could truly be a masterpiece of a game, but it could just as easily turn into a never-finished trainwreck, where dev slows to a crawl. I've seen it go both ways. Rust is an absolute masterpiece, but it could also fall into the, "we already got our money" trap that, for example, suffered a game like The Isle. That said, Fundog seems genuinely talented, not only with a vision of what they wanted to do but the competence to actually accomplish it. In a lot of ways they seem like a young Facepunch studios. I am optimistic.
To be fair, 'that guy' is the one who changes the course of the war, who makes a difference and tips the scales to one side or the other. And by design, Scavs are never going to be that guy, because they are just trying to survive, and not bring about the downfall of the factions who are fighting. That said, we know they are planning to continue to scale up what we see going on based upon who has the biggest swing in the battle zone, and who is getting more missions completed. But the night shift is still the easiest time of the game to deal with things once you are used to it, as its almost all melee units, and nothing paths well to reach you at the moment. Give the grabber a grappling hook and we'll see how well the cheese goes...
This is the way. Everyone out here being like “I am the guy” in an alpha that dropped barely two weeks ago. So many people are taking the whole not the guy thing in so many directions and you laid it out so damn well.
Of course the player won't be "the Guy" in the sense of ending the war, since the whole setting of the game is one big endless global conflict. But contrary to the expectations set out in the marketing, the roadmap actually kind of admits that you are "the Guy". Because the plans are for the battlefield conditions to change and shift as you complete quests for different factions. As you take out different targets or improve your faction reputation, certain factions will grow in strength as the other faction wanes, or alternatively the losing faction will begin to reinforce with ever increasingly larger threats to escalate the conflict. Despite the fact that you're just some random scav with scrap equipment caught in a conflict between two military superpowers, and despite the fact you can't rely on either faction to have your back, you're potentially creating a very significant impact on the frontline of multiple battlefields. I think that's kind of cool.
Critique that u can completely ignore: I'm not sure if you're trying to make your voice sound extra dramatic, but if so it's not needed! It sounds a bit over the top tbh.
I mean it’s an alpha so can’t really come to any set conclusions on the game at the current point it’s at. Once ai and other gameplay features get fleshed out I’d imagine it’ll be harder to play this game like a horde shooter.

"Nah, I'd win."

Eh, “the guy” implies more straight-up fighting. Cheesing the game is still pretty rat-like
This may be true! I'll certainly have some straight on gunning in future episodes of the series.

It's either invincible or has a health pool thats high enough to be equivalent to that currently.

I won't! But thanks for the challenge! This video will probably be part 2 of the series.
Lol yea your that guy along as they can't reach you right? If they could fire back it would probably be a little spicier.
It will be a long series! Plenty of room for everything
that's tanking 2 factions reputation in 1 raid all the way into the negatives xD mech trenches would be easy since the hunters arn't a threat
I've been experimenting with this, you'll see in part 2. I'm having a hard time getting spawns on mech trench once you wipe the map.
Nice
Thanks! Hoping I can try for some crazy numbers in the future
When you play as the easiest character and cheese, and think you're good.
Don't worry bud, all have a more "hardcore" video in the series in part 2.
