I suppose it doesn't matter too much but I mesh on the second coat once the brickwork joints have been filled looks great, hope you film the silicone texture coat :D
@@Ryan_Clarke_Plastering things like that are key info man, thanks for sharing. Maybe in the future you could add little info text boxes as I'm sure people would love to know why you are doing certain things. Thanks again, its really appreciated!
@@G2020- hahaha you’re so mad😂it’s not the finish you won’t see it what’s your problem. It’s flat that’s all that matters. I’ll make a video after we’ve put the silicone on just for you🤣
Why would you float the base coat? Its weakening the base coat and a lot of work. Should be able to use spatulas and make it flat and definitely use key coat to cover the brick first. 😢
Have used base coat and mesh systems for 20 +years here in the states not designed for scratch and double application It is a thin coat system with a top coat acrylic finish, that should have been s&c with a acrylic finish
Hi pal u eve use weber ocr in colder months can u still get it rubbed up same day. Liking weber ocr at mo?? Alsi do u I bar weber ocr back or just diamond float
@@Ryan_Clarke_Plastering yeah get one mate I’ve just got one the dogs nuts so much quicker and gets it flatter. Out of interest what sealer are you using? We us rendergrip but to expensive. Also are you using 10mm or 6mm beads ? Good vid lads
@@G2020- correct. I can assure you it’s flat. I don’t show everything in my videos. I only show parts I can’t record everything it’s impossible to record everything we went over it twice. But I just admit the gopro didn’t do it many favours the videos at the end looked pants hahaha
You obviously don't do much if any rendering. You're not floating the wall with those little strokes of the float pal. If you handed someone a float who has never rendered before they would do it like that.
Nice to see a Fellow crate user. Best hop up ever.
Can’t beat an old school crate. Hard to come by now grab one whenever I coke across one
Beer crates over milk crates any day day .definatly old school 😂
@@edwardgibbs4272 we have a few old beer crates now. Hard to coke by these days
I've never seen base coat done like this, always told let dry prime with same colour top coat apply top coat and rub up to finish job done?
Yeah this will still be primed and the top coat and rub up top coat too we just like a nice flat &smooth base coat too
The 1980s wants matey in the grey hoodie back
I want the 1980’s back so I can say I’ve lived through the 80’s😂

Someone else said they do that too. Maybe we can try this next time. Yes I think I’ll try record the finish
@@Ryan_Clarke_Plasteringhow did the topping go?
Why did you put orange mesh over on the angles at the corner of the windows on top of the area that was already meshed? Thanks in advance
We do this to prevent cracking on stress points. Just gives the weak spots that little bit more strength ;)

What the working time on the base coat once knock up please
Depends on time of the year and the background you’re applying to but this time of the year on brick face probably about 40 mins
what size beads u on please?
I think these were 15mm mate not sure tho I can’t remember
Nice work m8.
But I bett cost a fortune in hp12.
Try 6mm beads next time.
Save an absolute fortune on render.
Good work though
Cheers mate. Yeah we defo will look into 6mm next time. Hard work putting it on that thick
Bett it was pal just 2 tight 3mm passes.
Save an arm and a leg.
Do you need to use a primer before putting on the silicone if so which one!
Yes you do mate. You can use a few different ones. You can either use Rendagrip or just do what we done and give it a good coat of sbr
Very strange 'Rubbing-Up' technique chaps ... Looked like hard work .... Did it pass the Sunshine/Headlight test?? ... 😉
It’s because we hit it too wet because we’re impatient hahaha yes was flat by the tile we we’re finished
Bet that looked lovely in the sun 😂
Pretty sure it'll get coloured topcoat?
@@Trekz86 yeah I posted a video of us top coating
Nice work guys what size beads u use on this plz
is that being topped with anything?
Yeah it is. Silicone render over the top hence why it’s not smooth finished
Really good work. Why dont you go for a power float.
Yeah a power float is definitely goin to be dads next purchase I think mate. Makes life so much easier
great job gents.just subscribed.
Thanks mark we appreciate the subscribe👍🏻

This is how this system is supposed to be applicators mate they post videos on how to applicate it. Watch their videos. K Rend
So let me get this rite , that was a base coat ?
Why rub down so much. There is definitely another coat going on yeah ?
Yeah it has to be rubbed up because it’s only a thin coat system going over the top. Google thin coat systems
Like the comments say use a diamond float bro, other method I do is let it set then I bar it back and float 👊🏻
Yeah we need a couple diamond floats for sure they look like they’re a god send

Wanna use a Refina diamond float to rub it up
Yeah we need to invest in a power float really too hard with the generic small floats
@@Ryan_Clarke_Plastering Refina do a small and large handheld diamond float aswell

Why use bond in porous brick 🤦🏽
Bond?
@@Ryan_Clarke_Plastering yes we call in bond Crete here in Australia. You guys call it PVA

Yeah customer wanted it rendered to match the back but the brickwork was fairly bad up close to be honest
Rubbing up is a bit of a mess
Need to go on a refresher coarse ......thats not hating just sound advice

This must be a European way or beginners video
Can tell these boys are skimmers that is not how you float hp12. Going to look dog rough when the sun gets on it
