One of the best rock song duets EVER - whoever had the idea to get Jimmy & Michael together was a genius! Thank God for Rock'n Roll, incredible songwriters & musicians who just know what will stand the test of time. RIP Michael, you're sadly missed by so many.
Couldn’t agree more with this comment. I was 17 when this song came out. I hear it and I’m transported back to a much simpler time. Miss Michael - gone from us far, far too soon.
For those who don’t know, this is an Easybeats song written by Harry Vanda & George Young the older brother of Malcolm & Angus Young of AC/DC. @@randalscandal1588 200% agreed, we have the great black soul singers, US & British rock with all their greats & so on. Jimmys full bore Scottish/Australian vocal celebration of Aussie rock is their equal any day of the week. Second to none.

Sleep all day, Party all night, Never get old, Never die! This is such a fantastic song! What a great energy. Great music, and tremendous vocals. What fun! This is the epitome of care free good times. Live free, for all times. Forever!
Never heard of Jimmy Barnes until half an hour ago. I've heard 4 songs and I have to give it to him: what an amazing voice and performances. One of the true hard rock voices of the 80's. It's a shame he isn't well known in Europe. Will listen to rest of his stuff for sure.
Love the fact Jimmy and Michael went toe to toe on the vocals without one taking from the other. Feel like this was an extremely friendly duel. And that is another reason we, the listeners, love this song so much, just two amazing vocalists having the best time ever.
Even after all these years I still love this video. It always makes me smile. Looks like they had a lot of fun filming it. Jimmy is still rockin’ us. I miss Michael. 😔
I love his voice.. there are so few male great voices in rock ‘n’ roll. Burton Cummings.. Eric Burton.. .. Joe Cocker.. Tom Jones wasn’t really a hard rocker, but, what a voice.. John Mellencamp… these guys actually have voices. i’m not talking about who has the most hit records or who can scream the loudest.. there are lots of rock and rollers that can carry a tune. But, like playing an instrument, like the guitar, you can learn to do that, you may not have natural talent for playing an instrument, you can get by if you practice. But voice is something you can’t fake, you can’t learn to have a beautiful voice. That’s one thing, you either got it or you don’t.
Hutchence and Barnes , what a vocal power house! INXS , the pride of Australia. Gentleman thanks for sharing your talents and such great Classic Rock 'n Roll music for over thirty -five years. Just wanted to throw this out there, you never know who's reading these comments. What's the likely hood of a 2025 INXS North America/ World Tour with JD Fortune on vocals? I am guessing it might have something to due with the bands perception on Michaels Death and out of deep respect for their fallen brother , band mate and his Family. God Bless Michael you are sadly missed by all. Loved dancing 💃 to this song. 😍 Jimmy and Michael did this so justice! Loved Jimmy's voice, so overly powerful and straight to the core! Both are Australian rock legend s. 💕💕💕💕
One of those songs where a collaboration between two noted musicians succeeds. The group INXS combined with then establishing solo artist Jim "Jimmy" Barnes, to perform this tune, which is just as great to me now a middle aged man, as it was when I first heard it on Radio as a 17 year old male in 1987 here in Melbourne, Australia. And for anyone who's followed the career of both Jim Barnes and Michael Hutchence, Mr Barnes also featured with John Diesel as Backing Singers on "Marvellous", a song from then Australian Satire Comedian Billy Birmingham, aka, The 12th Man, on his 1992 album "Still The 12th Man", whilst Mr Hutchence briefly fronted a band "Max Q" in 1989/90. So it's no surprise these two singers and the other members of INXS would successfully combine to perform this song. And for those who also remember, this song appeared on the Soundtrack to the 1987 movie "The Lost Boys". Just as great a song now as back then.
Every few months somebody please stop by this thread to remind the world that this is one of the best rock n roll performances ever…. I got today. See you back here in July🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘

Brilliant collaboration - 25 years ago today Michael Hutchence died, only three years later would Paula Yates last without him. Very sad loss to music and fans all over the World.

You will be remembered as a legend.
So he was 27 when he only took a minute just to sing his song. If he was still alive, he would be 63.
And Bob Geldoff less so with his bile towards Michael.
I met INXS in Toronto, it blew my young self away. Generous bunch of guys.
I met them and worked for them in Pasadena at the Rock and Roll tonight show...during their very first tour to the USA. AWESOME BAND
From the Lost Boys movie. Electrocuted a vampire during this song. Death by stereo. Awesome duet. Rock and roll.

Hope you survived the deep dive. 😂
Jon's drumming made me want to become a drummer at 14. Then I moved to California and bought this the same day in 1987.
Highly underrated drummer.
We saw Jimmy twice in the 1990s when he came to Sweden - a wonderful charismatic singer!
Christ in Heaven they should have put out an album.
Still one of my all time faves.
Still miss Hutch.
God I miss these days.... People still knew how to have fun and give the finger to authority instead of bowing down to it.
So true! Micheal's voice opened the way for Jimmy's voice to smash through like a steam train. Both complemented each other in this Jam 💯
