Between this and PoD, our corporate overlords' loss is our gain.

Great to see you fellas on UA-cam. Nick still needs a different mic. Sounds like he’s talkin from a bathroom still. 🤣

44:50 Just want to make the comment that a versatile DB who can excel at special teams should be worth more to a team than a 4th or 5th receiving option. Even if Ladd were WR3 (and would he be with DPJ having a full offseason with the team?), LaPorta and Gibbs are higher priority targets. Mikey would play Dime out of the gates, can sub for nickel and backfill nickel AND cb when (not if) injuries happen.
What if the injury/suspension bug bites the receivers, you ask? Wouldn’t not having Ladd bite us in the behind? No. Sainristil can play WR if in need. So, a dude with great leadership skills and a 3 way swiss army knife? Take that pick!

I've enjoyed this show for a few years now and I am glad to hear that it is not going away. However, I am confused about what, exactly, is happening. Here are my questions. Will there be a new podcast (an audio thing available in podcast players, like Apple's) that has a new name, or is the entire shebang going to be a youtube thing only? Is the youtube part of this going to have a new name and channel, or will it continue in this channel? Will you still be covering the Lions in print (text, I guess) in The Athletic (I guess this is mostly for Mr. Pouncy right now, but I thought I had read recent stuff from at least Mr. Baumgardner, and perhaps Mr. Burke as well). Again, I've really enjoyed work from all three of you and I hope to be able to listen and read it for a long time to come.

We have to go through a process with The Athletic, but once it's complete we will continue the show independently with a new name and feed. It'll be finalized sometime before the upcoming season. The platform for the new show has yet to be determined, but we're discussing a few options. Still in the very early stages.
Our writing will continue with The Athletic. No worries there. This is just an audio change that both parties feel is best. We're excited about the opportunities that will come with owning the show moving forward.

Not sure why you wouldn't have taken Kneeland at 61? All of you said he wouldn't be there, but he was, so it was odd that you passed instead of playing the board as it was presented. He's a perfect fit for the Lions culture and need.
In either event, it was a fun watch!

Tried to be realistic with the picks. We’re higher on him than PFF (32nd on The Athletic’s board). But if Kneeland is there at 61 in real life he’s an obvious choice. Just didn’t wanna do it here for those reasons

I’m sure SB Nations recent podcast decision has nothing to do with your announcement

Separate situations but as MC noted earlier -- this was a corporate decision and not ours. Though, same time, we own the show now so it should be fine. Excited for some new stuff in the future.
