I don’t know about the rest of you, but I find it really strange that I’m just not really interested in the draft all that much this year. I love being down at the bottom of the draft.!!!
I get it. I think the draw from past drafts once had a little of "how are they going to screw it up this year"...or "hope I get this BIG NAME HERE." Brad Holmes' ability to get the right guys for this team is near perfect these last three years. Not saying they're all contributing to their full potential yet, but those who haven't may get there this season. I think another aspect is not knowing who any of these players are. (Maybe I'm getting old.)
I think it stems from the fact BH can pick great players from round 1-7 and has proven it 3 years straight and only gotten better drafts each year. That trust in our front office was new and exciting the first few times but now has made the draft a very laid back stress free experience because no matter who they select they'll probably positively impact this team
I like this line of thinking. Absolutely yes to all of these. And I'd give you 5 more in the first round and 5 more in the 2nd round that I think you swerve off of. If you can eliminate over half your options based on too high/too low, do not draft, and poor fit, then you have a player pool to examine deeper and get your 2 guys that will be with this team for the next decade (hopefully).
Hey Jeff, sorry if you've already shared your thoughts on him before but what are your thoughts on TJ Tampa? To me, he looks a better Ennis Rakestraw and would fit the Lions perfectly but I'm curious where you rank him; I think Dane Brugler ranked him CB7 with a 3rd round grade which seems too low
Any defensive tackle before round 3. Any pass rushing right edge before round 3. You are not in need of studs on the DL. This team lost games on short & intermediate passes last year. The average rush gets home in 3 seconds. The average quick pass in this league is thrown in under 1.5 seconds. The only solution for that is better short & intermediate coverage. If you can find a rare JACK type LB who can cover and rush, that’s a good bet. But otherwise this group is even worse at DB with the loss of CGJ & Sutton. Thinking the pass rush will cure that is just a dumb way to think. Address the issue head on.
I have to agree especially in the Rams game if we had Watt on the other side it wouldn’t have made a difference because our corners got smoked right off the line, although during our mid season slump our pass rush looked horrible and required AG to blitz the safety to get pressure.
As a first rounder, totally agree on Rakestraw. Love him as their late 2nd round pick though. Rakestraw can also slot inside at nickel, and that would help mask his lack of downfield speed. And they may be looking to use Branch at safety more this season and in the future.
Cooper DeJean, Chop Robinson, Brian Thomas, Braden Fiske & Cooper Beebe. Last 2 have short arms. Rakestraw is a good one, also. I thought it was a smoke screen.
That was really good analysis and I want 100% agree, nice to get honest analysis from someone that doesn't worship at the altar Brad and Dan, they have their strengths but they're not gods,
I just don't see the Devin Witherspoon level of CB in this draft. Those are guys you move for. Desperate teams will move for Arnold or Mitchell but those guys were late 1st rounders or day 2 guys in last years draft. If kool-aid makes it to the lions and they take him, fine but I don't like a cb in the first round this year. If we move up I'm liking a DE or WR or OL
@@wishinifishin5172 fair enough. That makes sense. I think I just disagree with your takes on the players. My main point is that I don't like the value of any player if we stand pat. Move up or move back. Either one is fine. I'll trust Brad's judgment about the player scouting.
Frazier take from the east side of me and tell you all something right now next year throw the ball I guess it's for 350 yards a game but we are going to stop the run you can't stop both you have to stop one or the other in Glen Glenn is a man blitz all day brother 😎 Ben Johnson Dan Campbell please go with works for you run not f****** ball man I am an old man and I will run the ball like a mother f*****for that offensive line Go Lions
Frank the tank from the East side😅 have not talked to you yet Jeff let me tell you something brother you said Jameson Williams can't catch I don't judg you also didn't like Paschal you didn't understand Gibbs can you in the media don't mean nothing by and you do not care about Dan Campbell and one time I left the message you laughed at me about bringing in competition I know about competition love you don't know if I love just trying to tell everybody around here I'm watching this team since I've been 4 years old man this s*** is different man ♂️ we all need to realize that man Go Lions love you Ash
Frank the tank from the East side chop Robinson 😞 you know when all those running quarterbacks are running away from work edge players maybe you might think chop can catch him running quarterbacks on tear us up all year fellas come on 😭 they're going to run they're going to run and they're going to run but what matters nobody on the field knows about that player that's going to make a difference it's fast when it comes to a football game NFL game when you got to deal with officials bad calls😮😮😮
Francis King from the East side why do we listen this s*** man this guy hasn't played a game in his life call 🦁 sorry Chris Ash any other guy not the brown but the other guy sorry I can't remember your name had a couple of red pops
Hey Jeff Risdon can you do a part 2 on 5 players who the lions should draft with your reasons why

U r becoming a seasoned fan. Difficult to project. When we like a pick and they do well, the fan is like I knew it 😂😂😂😂

have to agree with you on these guys, Cornelius Johnson from MI is better option & can get him a later round
David White jr Jalen Coker bub means Hayden hatten too

Risdon called it on Rakestraw, 😩

I like with your preacher brother
Friske I'll take
I love it. I have the same feelings about all of the guys. I don't want any of them to be lions. Yeehaw.
I don’t really care at this point. Whoever they get seems to work out. One thing is Holmes seems to like injuries….it might be a part of his questions
That was really good analysis and I want 100% agree, nice to get honest analysis from someone that doesn't worship at the altar Brad and Dan, they have their strengths but they're not gods,
Wtf are you talking about? 😂😂
Don't want any of these guys. Pressure means u never got to qb. Injuries players should be off the loins board. But Brad homes like Injuries players
This is an ol draft. If moms passed a physical, take him. If not, do not
Leave the first round without a tackle
I want us to either move up and take Terrion Arnold or Quinyon Mitchell, or trade back out of our first rounder. There isnt good value at that spot.
I just don't see the Devin Witherspoon level of CB in this draft. Those are guys you move for.
