New Engine Water Pump from 1AAuto.com 1aau.to/ia/1AEWP00201
This video shows you how to install an engine water pump on your 2008-2016 Chevrolet Cruze. The water pump keeps coolant flowing through your engine. Common failures of the water pump will leave the coolant leaking, or stagnant. Both will lead to overheating if left untreated. Install a new engineered to fit water pump from TRQ for total peace of mind.
This process should be similar on the following vehicles:
    2011 Chevrolet Cruze
    2012 Chevrolet Cruze
    2013 Chevrolet Cruze

I really appreciate you making this video. My local Chevy dealer was going to charge me $1400 for the pump and labor. I found the pump at Autozone for $90 and a new belt for $25. I still can't figure out how labor added another $1300+. I will be attempting to tackle this on my own.

I can't thank you enough for this very excellent tutorial video. The dealer wanted twelve hundred dollars to do this. Saved my daughter a lot of money. Thank you, again.

What are the torque values for the engine mount? Do you need to use new torque to yield bolts for the engine mount? if so what are the part numbers for the 3 engine side attachment and the 5 other bolts an 1 nut on the wheel well side.

The Cruze only started in 2011. So any other car with this engine may have different mounting hardware, hoses and air box position.

    For future viewers:
This is the 1.4T EcoTec engine. When you perform this replacement, take the time to replace the accessory belt and tensioner. It is advised that you also replace the thermostat housing and water outlet with aftermarket aluminum versions, and change the internal thermostat in the housing with a lower-temp version - the replacement internal thermostat is found in the thermostat housing for a Cadillac ELR and a Chevy Volt 2011-2014, part number 55593035, manufactured by Dorman. The stock thermostat is rated to open at 220°F, the replacement is rated at 176°F.
Studies have shown that the engine operating temp has minimal effects on emissions and efficiency, so this change is not detrimental to the operation of the vehicle. It may be possible to increase oil life with this change, as the operating temperatures will be lower. It may also be possible to increase engine performance due to reduced cylinder temperatures and predetonation chance, as well as reducing the heat transfer from the radiator to the stock intercooler.
These changes will drastically improve the life of the 1.4T LUV engine by reducing operating temps and overheating conditions. The stock thermostat operates within 20°F of high-temp warnings from the coolant temperature sensors. Save yourself the potential failure by doing these upgrades.
And change the oil every 3000 miles! Tiny oil passages everywhere in this engine will get gummed up by old dirty oil. It only takes 4.25qt - that's just over a gallon - and it will deteriorate quickly because of the high heat, the turbo temperatures, and the small oil capacity. You will keep the engine healthy for hundreds of thousands of miles.

What is the diameter of the hose used to drain the fluid from the radiator?

This is a really good time to upgrade the thermostat to the aluminum replacement and eliminating another fail prone plastic coolant part. All of the plastic coolant parts on the engine have affordable aluminum replacements. We had to do them all recently, as each of them had developed cracks and warping over the years. Nearing 80,000 miles, it was a great decision.

Do you need to use gasket maker silicone in addition to the gasket?

My 2013's radiator valve is accessible from the top of the hood area. No need to remove the wheel and all of the plastic pieces. This job is nearly identical to replacing the alternator. Only messier, though due to the antifreeze

What are the signs that the water pump and thermostat is bad?
A Freind of mines car is going thru a lot of coolant, but we don’t see any leaking on the ground. The oil doesn’t look milky.
So we are not sure where the water is going.
